@JohanOlsson no it really isn't. all AKs work by a long stroke gas piston system; i e, the force of gas ported from the middle of the barrel hits a piston which in turn pushes back on the bolt cycling the rifle. the German STG 44 stermgavare uses the roller locking delayed blowback system. this works similarly to a pistol except that the bolt is locked closed just long enough for the bullet to leave the barrel by means of two roller locking lugs.

@Chizzy963369 Steel I think. Dont like the feel because it clunks when you fire it. I love the sights though. The Blade a Ring/post is beter than the peep sight on the M-16. I wish we made better ARs with a higher rate of fire and better reliability.

Well, that's true, however, the chinese didn't collect the fire powder royalties as well. Without fire powder, his gun won't be able to fire at all. :-).

Some people say that the M16 (M4) is better than the AK. In my personal experience with a multitude of rifles since the mid 1970's I'd put it this way. If the M16 (M4) is better... How come it costs 5 times as much and jams twice as often? If you think the M16 is better because it will shoot a 3 inch group, instead of a 5 inch group at 250 meters then you don't know how the average 19 year old shoots under pressure. The fractional increase in accuracy does NOT make the M16 (M4) "better".

@randy95023 they cost nearly the same now, and modern AR rifles are the jamtastic piece of shit they were in the 70s, also AKs jam as well, all machines can fail. AKs are easier to maintain, ARs are more accurate, this is not debaitable

@Dafroft Not surprising because the so-called modern designs are really just 1960s designs with newer materials and sillier cases to make them look more modern than they really are. They also dont shoot much better. The US cancelled the ACR program because none of the "new" rifles proved to be significantly better than M16A2 and the prices were incredible.
