The Invaders made it big in France back in the day...Maybe bigger than in the USA...I guess Star Trek was stealing the part out there...Frankly I much prefer "The Invaders"...lol
@lewisner It really was. It's a shame they cancelled it after only one and a half seasons. The best part of the remake movie of the 90's was the 10 minutes that David Vincent made an appearence in it.And now he's too old to ever attempt a remake of the series or make a decent movie about it.What a tragic terrible squandered waste of an opportunity that never happened.
@rematpac I got about half way through one episode of the mini series before realising it was crap. If they made a modern feature movie they would probably wreck it.
I may try to upload one of my favourite bits - the alien regeneration sequence from "Vikor".
@lewisner Of course they would have wrecked it like they usually do when they make a new movie based on an old great TV series ,just like they did an awful job with the 90's movie when they chose not to use David Vincent except for one brief scene. It had little or nothing in common with the original series. For some reason they can't,won't,or are incapable of duplicating the original style of such great TV shows and always feel the need to have to modernize(completely wreck) them.
@lewisner Another great series, which you probably know all about, that didn't last long unfortunately was the British sci-fi series UFO(1970).but just in case you've never seen it,I thought I better mention it just to be sure. You'll want to watch the entire series if you haven't already.I have a couple of episodes on my website. It is probably the 2nd best sci-fi series ever made ,next to The Invaders.
@rematpac Ha ha I was GLUED to the telly when UFO was on - and not just because of Gabrielle Drake! BTW I used to have a collection of Invaders stuff - the saucer kit, the comics and the paperback books - and I tried to sell the comics on Ebay but only sold Number 1 and not for very much.
Quinn Martin was known for being the top producers of TV series in the1960's and had put out 2 of the most successful shows by the mid-60's :The F.B.I. and The Fugitive.Due to UFO sightings and the popularity of sci-fi shows,QM decided to produce it's 1st sci-fi TV series keeping it's reputation for hiring the finest actors and script writers it created the cult classic The Invaders, rated just behind Star Trek,The Twilight Zone, and The Outer Limits(D.Frontier also wrote the music)as the best S.F

Michael Rennie, who palyed Klaatu on the Day The World Stood Still, also played the villain Dr. Somnambulists on Batrman, weird coincidences.
