Not a dying art--very popular in the USa, and having a renaissance in Ukraine. Also, the art is pysankarstvo, and egg is a pysanka (PIH-son-kah, not pie-san-ka). The tool is most commonly called a pysachok; keest-ka is a regional usage.
I am sorry to say, that she is totally ignorant of the true culture and trade art. A school teacher that knows nothing of researching the reality ! Try learning from a real Ukrainian!
Good instructional video, but her pronunciations are off (understandably, I suppose). It's not called a "keeshka", but a keestka or kistochka, which means " a bone". Also, its called a pysanka with an emphasis on the first syllable. The word for "writing" is pysaty and a pysanka is something which displays writing. Sorry, just being fussy.

I have a question, When learning how and there is no one around to teach you. Are there some books you would suggest that could help someone learn on their own
