  • Moving here in 1972, I found Bukowski in the old L.A. Free paper (prob. before L.A. Weekly). I think his articles were entitled "notes of a dirty old man." Rivitingly lovable and reprehensible at the same time. Like L.A. itself was revealing itself to be. I'm still here, Chuck. Thanks for sharing the flavor, no matter how unsavory.

  • His place on 17th st. in Philly is still there but it won't be torn down because its turning into an OK neighborhood
