Foreman is an interesting guy. Very knowledgeable about conservation history. Started Earth First! and moved on and to the Sierra Club board of directors when EF got out of hand, but never lost his perspective. His book "The Big Outside" is a must-read, even though it's now dated.
I think a lot of Nature Deficit Syndrome has affected to way we live on this planet. It's amazing what a little time with the wild can do to ones perspective.
