Making a surfboard DIY time lapse

Has any one made other things this way ? i was thinking to glue several layers together and make a sit on top kayak . What kind of foam is this and how can you buy it

Hey! :) Mmm.. May I ask, on how you bended the board?

@pinkberrygurl21 You don't really "bend" the board. The stringer, or center strip of wood, is cut out of a plank of wood. When you cut it you outline a bend or rocker into it. Then you glue two pieces of foam to the stringer and sand the foam down to the stringer. That creates the bend. If I had diagrams that would help.

Anyway the easier way is just purchase a blank from US blanks and then it comes with rocker built in already.

@oneil641 There is one coat of fabric on the bottom and two on top. Then a hot coat of resin. Then a really thin polish coat of resin.

@gidonwietse The stringer came with the blank, although I have made a few of my own blanks. You just have to get a big enough piece of wood (1/4'' thick) I use accushaper to design and print a template then trace it onto the wood and cut with a jigsaw.

Pinlines were made using Liquitex paint. Any acrylic paint will do. Just have to tape it up good and put it on thick.

The wood for the stringer is bamboo... the fabric is also bamboo fabric as opposed to fiberglass.

The next thing is if you want to make it out of epoxy or polyester sterin?

how many finns?

do you have alot of grinders? electric etc?

can you be outdoors? You Have To Wear protective mask and gloves MINIMAL! preferely a suit that protects the arms. If you sand glasfiber and get it on your skin, it could easily develop in to astma.

Matt, It took me about 2 weeks to make the board from start to finish. I probably worked on it for 1-2 hours per day. I got the kit from greenlight and it cost about $300. I got the kit that included EVERYTHING, even the tools.
