This is awsome. I'm a big GMC fan and when I see some of the beauties like this that they've rolled of the line I remember why, and ya gotta love that Detroit under the hood. BTW the big hood is what makes these trucks look so mean, great idea puting it back on instead of the high vis hood.
can never mistake the sound of an old school detroit diesel!! My dad had a 85 and 88 gmc astro cab over with 6v92 series with 13 spd eaton roadrangers and they were both single axle tractors!.I think the 85 was rated around 330 hp while the 88 was 350 hp. They were good pullers for what he hauled (womens clothing) LOL!
It was an oil tanker for a local oil company. When I purchased it though, the oil tank had been removed and it was just a cab and chassis. It also used to have the "high visibility" or sloped hood... yeah, I took that off in favor of the big burly hood.
