  • @awesomedude181 No shes says mobile phones should not be swiched on

  • Singapore Airlines gets its crew to start preparing the aircraft for landing 5mins before the captain/first officer starts the decent

  • "Cabin Crew 10 Minutes to landing" - so they have 10 minutes to get passengers ready to land and be seated thereselfs? I thought the crew was seated at 10 minutes to landing?

  • Interesting stuff.......

  • she's soo adorable!!!!! I Love her!! lol honestly!!

  • Omg thts my mum she recocgnies it and its her haha

  • yeah right;P

  • 10 minuites to landing doesnt mean cabin crew to take there seats it means they need to prepare the cabin for landing!

  • @squibby1123 WRONG!

  • Errr, squibby1123 is right actually. After the announcement asking people to stow tables, put armrests down, ensure seatbacks are upright, etc, the cabin crew then pass through the cabin to make sure it's all been done. Which is called preparing the cabin for landing. THEN they sit down.

  • @butterpecanphilly Exactly (Y) thanks

  • haha i went on that flight a little while ago, but from LHR-CDG. it was a nice flight :) but i must say SIN-LHR on the a380 QF was really nice, but really bumpy haha

  • Can't wait can't wait can't WAAAAAIT! I'll be on a British Airways flight to my beloved London from Hamburg again today in six weeks' time - and after listening to this I really CAN'T WAIT and want to pls fly NOW! I LOVE those announcements! LONDON, HERE I COME! :o)))

  • can i ask you please to return to your seat belt??

  • I think it was 'return to your seat now'.

  • wats the point of that

    \\

  • She sounds so British and posh, I love it! Hope the hosties are like this on my SYD-BKK-LHR and FCO-LHR-SIN-SYD flights!

  • she sounds like she's angry lol...

I like the sweet voices better

  • Now this is the high quality announcement i would expect from British Airways

  • by the way,int it abit too early to annnounce the preparation for landing? its still flying too high "/

  • Nope... As crew, when we have 10 minutes to landing, we have to secure all the equipment in the galley, check all passengers are secured and hand baggage stowed, ensure all alcohol and duty free bars are sealed with customs seals and padlocked, pass secure checks to Purser and then on to the Captain and then take our seats. That all takes a good 5 minutes, and if there are any problems during that process, longer. We sometimes get 15 minutes to landing if it is a busy flight too.

  • we always get "20 min to landing".

  • we do too if we are on a 767 and have to collect headsets and stuff.... 10 minutes is normal for us though.

  • yeah, well, it depends on the policy of the company.

  • watch?v=CCmcVFt8Y7c

  • I flew with ''Sterlings'' when I was going to England/Horsham.But now Sterlings is out of business :(

  • Emirates are gonna be getting an airbus a380(dunno if they have) and go on 'pearl' class, you get a massive room its so cool!

  • Pearl class is onbaord Etihad. Check my vids, theres me on it :D

  • i can't blieve they said this. listen closely at 0:36...

  • Yep that's British Airways' policy. It's a safety precaution I think. You must be able to hear instructions in case of emergency.

  • yer, its now policy with alot of airlines now

  • @rotesocken ??? why cant you b

  • @rotesocken makes perfect sense !!!

  • @rotesocken It is international law. All airlines ask you to remove headsets/switch off electronic devices when on approach, landing, taxi in/out and departure. In the event of an emergency, you won't hear instructions if you're listening to music, will you?

  • @rotesocken i dont hear it. what did they say?

  • Emirates Airlines are excellent too =)

  • BA the best airline in the world:D just love it i wana be a flight attandant for BA :D

  • I love flying with Blue1, when the pilots, in their heavy, stress-on-first-syllables Finnish accent simply say 'Ca-bin crew take seats for lan-ding'.

  • I love British English...

  • Yeah, saying as little as possible with as many words as possible. Love it.

  • Thats awsome

i really want to go on BA it looks cool although my friend just went to Lodon on BA abd said that they were average and quite standard, bacically as good as qantas or lufthansa..!!!!!!!

  • British Airways is the best airline to fly.

  • qantas and lufthansa are quality airlines in the first place. qantas is one of the top rated in the world, so comparing ba to them is actually a compliment.

i do love flying ba though, they make me feel loved.

  • alright

    i think qanatas sucks now...

    i mean

they had a whole month of stuff ups and it went all on national tv.

i dont know about luftahnsa but qanatas sucks.

singapore arlines, malaysian airline and emirates is probly one of the best. and air new zealand arnt that bad them selfs.:)

  • waz dat a man or a women

  • it sounds like a woman

  • its kinda obviouse

  • Shows how beautiful the English language can sound when used properly.

  • Fascinating. Purely fascinating.

  • i know!! lol

  • great video!!!

  • i rate this 5* x

  • omgg i love it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • He says '10 minutes to landing' not seats for landing. Cabin crew still needs to check the cabin for landing after this announcement, so they can't be seated yet.

  • True enough.

  • In Syrianair they let you have your mobiles on inflight.

  • thats lies cos it interferes with the navigation system and engines!!

  • I asked one of the cabin crew if I could and they said you can except for takeoff and landing.

  • somehow i dont believe you because since 2001 there has been a ban on using mobile on the aircraft until the engines are shut down because the radio wves can interfere with both the navigation system and the engines. you could be right but until im told otherwise by a flight attendant from the company i choose not to beilieve you

  • well i guess they probably let me because syrianair is not a very good\important airline (they don't really care!)

  • With the airline I work for, phones must be switched off once the main cabin door is closed. They can be switched on once up in the air & the seat belt sign is off but must be in 'flight mode' (for games etc) this does not interfere with the pilots navigation. Once the aircraft has commenced descent they must be switched off. Depending on whether an aerobridge or stairs are used determines if they can be switched on during taxi to the terminal. They can't be used on the tarmac due to refuelling.

  • This was in reply to lilmizzmallorca and christian mesmar.....

  • which airline is that? because i've heard that some strict airlines don't let you use your phones even if in flight mode.

  • I am a flight attendant for an airline which is part of the Qantas group, in australia. In Flight Mode there is no transmitting, you can't text or call people, its just for games, the calendar, notebook etc. But yeah i guess some airlines might not let passengers have flight mode cause then people might get confused & put their phones on anyway?

  • British Airways

  • Back in 2001, when I flew Qantas for the first time, I remember that their policy forbid the use of mobile phones from the moment that you boarded up until you disembarked from the aircraft.

Also, when I worked for Air Canada for a short time, I took a few flights with them and I noticed that they don't allow the use of phones until a passenger has exited the aircraft. This has the positive effect of reducing congestion when deplaning and is definitely quite appreciated.

  • The frequency that mobile phones and wifi transmit at is vastly different then that of the ILS system and airband communications. It is possible, however, that they could interfere with something else entirely. I'm not sure there, but I seriously doubt the possibility of something making the plane lose its ILS during landing.

  • The funny thing about all this is that I didn't use my cell phone when filming this. I used a pocket digital camera that has video capability. All my videos I've uploaded are with the Sony DSC-T1

  • no no

my bus driver was a cheif crew avionics mechinic for 30 years and he said that it messess with the gyroscope he said those insturments are really sinsitevitive

he drives busses cause he is retired and loves kids

  • unfortunately this rule is enforced for some weird reason we will not know, here in Australia, Qantas has just announced all mobile phones will be allowed to be used during all flights and are teaming up with phone companies to get coverage for mobiles at that height. I just dont get it

  • cool!!!

  • wow that flight attendant sounds a bit demanding lol....

  • what airline is it?

  • British Airways

  • Great video!!

  • Glam!
