lol first off the mail person is comong on my property, secondly if they maced my dog before my dog ever bit them I wouldnt be very happy, secondly my dog is fenced...thirdly to prevent any incidents my mailbox is at the end of my property so they dont even have to come into my yard. My dogs love my mail man. This dog is clearly playing.

that is a PUREBRED german shepherd for one. he's whats called a wolf grey coloring. not the typical saddle you see in show dogs. secondly if you were paying attention and using common sense, the mail carrier is very obviously playing with the dog. Like a previous comment said, its not raining and the wipers go on and off. That mail carrier is probably cracking up inside watching this dog flip out about the wipers.

@pmezo check out total-german-shepherd (dot com) under coat colors. "wolf gray" is an actual term used to describe sables. And i quote "German Shepherd coat colors and patterns may include any of the following: black & tan, black & red, black & cream, solid black, solid white, (considered a conformation disqualification), sable (also called agouti or wolf gray, in various colorations), black & silver, liver (rare - conformation fault) and blue (rare - considered a conformation fault). "

In NJ if a owner does not put a dog away we can make a whole block pick up their mail until the careless owner puts that dog away.

Can anyone tell me why German Shepherds wag there tail when the bark. I have a Neighbor who has a White German Shepherd and it was raised to protect to the owner and it barks and shows agression but wags his tail the whole time. Please respond.

Tail waggin is a show of excitement. Protection is not aggression. Even if it was aggressive it still can show excitement.

In protection work the dog is taught to view the protection as a game. So they are excited about working. As the game progresses you associate different scenarios to different commands like Mark and Pocket.

LOL, a few reasons dogs sometimes don't like the mailmen is because they are usually in and out without greeting the dog, more like an intruder than a friend, and with some dogs they don't like the bag the mailman carries. Our mail people here don't usually use vehicles like this. A lot of dogs don't understand the whole putting on a hat, or bag thing. They don't know whats going on. Some dogs are taught to get use to it. Nice dog by the way.
