  • Red Sea = J-E-L-L-O! DeMille perfected the parting-sea effect in the 1956 version, but you can actually see the jello shake in this one.

  • Strange how when they get to the other side they're waist-deep in water. I thought when I first read this story that the complaints of the Israelites after all they had witnessed in such a short time showed incredible cowardice, and that Pharoah's decision to go after them in the Red Sea after all HE had seen was the height of stupidity. In his place I'd have said something like, Shit! You see that? Alright lads, the game's up. Let's go home.

  • for 1923, the effects are pretty good

  • Cecil B DeMille's showmanship was incredible and timeless. This movie, though it is silent and black and white, is in its scenes as entertaining as the Heston version (1956 remake)

  • Trivia: The guy that played Moses here also had a cameo in the '56 version. He was the old man whose "strength is dried up like dust" early in the exodus scene. Bithia had offered him her litter.

  • @Foltz23 Actually that was actually HB Warner who played Jesus in DeMille's silent KING OF KINGS. Warner also played Mr Gower the pharmacist in ITS A WONDERFUL LIFE.

  • Wow! I think it's cool that they were able to make the waters part!

  • Believe it or not, they did that with Jell-O.

  • WHAT?! WOW! That's incredible!
