  • I have an onkyo too and man I am so pleased with this unit, it's actually an tx ds696 pretty old but still has the power to pissss the neighbors into calling the cops in a heartbeat .lol but nice vid bro

  • onkyo TX - SR505E the dogs balls man

  • i have the same receiver but silver its loud init

  • i have this with wharfedale crystal... very good!!

  • cool vid man

  • which is the name of the firt song you test?

  • sounds like the back dude from ownagepranks aha

  • Nice bass

  • Nice Onkyo Home Theater Stereo System

  • Nice stet up but for surround those fronts should be at ear level just sayin! Nice amp tho

  • Great Stuff, Ive got The TX SR605, They are Awseome quality For A good Price, good demo.

  • just get some Klipsch Synergy bookshelf speakers for that thing, goes with that sub real well and they sound great

Onkyo is no joke. Most of those receivers now put out 140watts per channel!! vs the best Yamaha at 95watt per channel

  • Hey, is the that the Klipsch sub 10 as your subwoofer? I just ordered one.

  • I’m looking at current Onkyo models that support RCA phone outputs and its only mid upper models that support this. The lower range budget models no longer support this. I prefer to use my own amps but have new model AVR that supports DOlbyTrueHD and don’t really care for dtshdma, also a model that comes THX select2. So I’m looking at £600 at best. Well I’ll get one soon, as new models come out every 6 months or so.

  • Nice glad you enjoy it I have the sr507 wit bookshelf spkrs Show wat u got man an be thankful n love onkyo receivers!!

  • That Onkyo is a nice Receiver although it's not top of the line. The top of the line Onkyo receivers are the NR series (NR 800, 900,1000). Although the model one above that one the 605 was voted best midrange receiver of that year. I have a TX-SR 706 and I love it. I bought my first Onkyo over ten years ago It was a TX-DS 787 and It still works. I gave it to a friend of mine. The TX-DS 787 was one of the first THX certified receivers along with the 989. Just one of many firsts for Onkyo.

  • Nice jus have those speaker wires hidden or even put them on stands a new tv nd u set bro!! nice reciever and the sub looks like a klipsch nice!

  • hey i got a 705 and o love it u got a nice ONKYO lives....good video there haters out there

  • Nice review ;) I Buy this Reciever

  • Oh btw You should really consider DIY speakers or Logitech. Much higher quality/reliability/performance than Boston.

  • Is that a center speaker on top of the tv/dvd player? I need to get one of those. Trying to set up surround sound for the first time and god damn this shit can get hectic! Wires F***** EVERYWHERE you smell me? Anyway Onkyo is a good choice most def. Hopefully you've upgraded that tv though in the last 2 years >.< but yeah... solid stuff, plus music is better than TV any day.

  • i was looking for a yamaha, but i deiced against it and got the onkyo 506 (has slighty different hdmi switching). Really glad i did get the onkyo as its powerful had plenty of inputs and has enough power to allow me to upgrade my 70w bookshelf speakers to floor standers

  • Just bought an Onkyo - waitin for Delivery =D Sadly down here in Germany we dont get These Boston Acoustics =/ My Yamaha DSP-A780 Receiver died 1 month ago - and is currently in Repair ^^ So i Went to Onkyo and bought one :)

  • Nice receiver...good choice. When i had a receiver it was an Onkyo too!

  • im sorry

the position of the onkyo av receiver makes it looks old!~

but the receiver is pretty cool~

  • So far I've had my Onkyo TX-SR604 receiver for about 4 years now without a hiccup. If I had to do it all over again I would still stick with Onkyo. They make great receivers and home theatre systems at an affordable price. Great review. :)

  • nice review i got one of those but it kinda.... died...... :(

  • The receiver is awesome, BUT......

THOSE SPEKERS....MAN YOU ARE GOING DOWN WITH THEM...CHEAP HOME THEATRE SPEAKERS FOR THIS RECEIVER...you are a joke my friend....so so low....CHANGE THE SPEAKERS THEN LISTEN.......

  • i dont understand why people play music like that to show how good it is.

  • just get a new tv and you'll be all set!

  • awsome man comment my video

  • nice , hey is that ja rule ???

  • Onkyo 906 is a FUCKING BEAST. A 505 is not top of the line, top of the line is 130+ watts per channel/ Onkyo is a great brand me and my friends work at Fry's Electronics. My friend has an Onkyo TX-SR875 with Polk LSI9's. I got an Onkyo TX-SR905 with a polk audio soundbar50. Thats top of the line stuff. Of course we get great discounts too, both systems are easy over $2000.

  • And you are a tool!

  • is the onkyo 5100 worth the 400 bucks?

  • nice amp but shit track

  • Top of the Line? Sub $300 reciever?? Try something like the Pioneer Elite VSX-01TXH which is over $700...thats almost top of the line....But onkyo is a great reciever....

  • Onkyo is a great receiver to have! i'm saving up for the new Onkyo TX-NR906

  • Hey man i have that same CD Changer and yeah Onkyo rocks the house 5 stars

  • I just ordered my 506 today to go along with my KEF IQ50's, it should hold me over for a while.

  • What cd player are you using my friend? with that reciever?

  • Iv got the P-308 and the P-508 amp (Grand integra). I bought it over on Guam USA in 1985. She still sounds better than anything iv heard since. We used to describe the quality of onkyo as "Crisp and clean and no caffeine"

  • I will probably hook the ps3 using optical. I saw on a few reviews that the HDMI is only for pass through, so the the ps3 sound (if using the HDMI), would only come out of the tv and not the speakers. Only one way to find out. :)

I will be using this receiver for movies, games and music. I listen to a large range of music genres, looking forward to the range this receiver will offer. Thanks for the video post! I found it after I purchased mine online, and now I'm stoked to get it in the mail.

  • Just bought the TX-SR506 as my first receiver today... Now I just have to wait to get it in the mail. I still need speakers, but I needed to start somewhere. Can't wait to hear this system. I have a PS3 (with blu-ray) how do you suggest I connect it to the receiver? If I connect it with optical it will only give me the 5.1 and not the 7.1?

  • Your gonna fall in love with this receiver, once you have everything hooked up right, that thing will blow your mind. If you use a optical cable, you will definitly get 5.1 surround sound but you can add two extra back speakers which will give you 7.1 channels. You can only get 7.1 surround if you connect the extra two speakers, as far as connecting your PS3, the receiver has three HDMI imports which makes it capable of connecting it with a HDMI cable.

  • Sounds good! Do you know how many watts?

  • Yeah this receiver pushes out 75 watts per channel, it has 7.1 channels

  • are you sure the cd player is alright under the receiver, cause i want to have my setup like that

  • Yeah it won't cause any damage to it, the only reason it's at the bottom is because I don't want to cover up the receiver's vent holes, it can over heat.

  • yeah thats what i though you didn't want to cover the vents but cool now i know it's safe

  • thank man !! for the review!!

  • No problem, if you have questions, feel free to ask.

  • Yea , Onkyo is the bomb,They make the best home theater recievers.

most people buy Sony because of the brand , but fuk that shit , Sony isn't as good as Onkyo in home theater reciever.

  • Yeah onkyo, yamaha, and denon are the best receivers.

  • hey man you have the same sony cd player as me, are you using an optical cable with yours?

  • Yeah I do because you'll get a much better sound with a optical cable. Optical gives full 5.1 surround sound, a regular black and white cable only gives 2 channels

  • yeah man I'm going to save up for a 5.1 system, is the music a lot better through 5 channels?

  • If I were you, I would get a 7.1 channel receiver. You can connect two extra speakers especially if you plan on buying a blu-ray player, blu-ray gives guarantee 7.1 sound.

  • onkyo is great, i am still playing with mine

  • Just got one of these! Hope it's as good as you say it is.
