no the rotors are kept at a pretty constant RPM. I was talking about power down after landing. The video was edited at 1:07 to remove the power down. Its a camera trick, otherwise if the rotors weren't spinning the helicopter would be spinning wildly since the tail rotor is still moving. The tail rotor runs off the same transmission. If the tail rotor is moving, the main rotors are moving... easy air pressure holy shit I hope you're joking.

Hey all...there is nothing weird about the capture of the video. It was done with a Minolta Dimage A2, which records 30 frames per second. The Rotor RPM is 360 (The pilots told me that) and that is why...pure coincidence...
Of course it can. The blades rpm are in phase with the camera fps. This means that every time the camera shutter opens, the rotor is in the exact same position.
A similar effect can also be seen on car-wheels which sometime seem to be spinning slowly or backwards.
In this particular footage, the rotor spins 12 times each time the camera takes a picture. But the rotor is still in the same position (full rotations) so it seems like the rotor is stationary.

Yes, look up "how can this thing fly" and its the very first video... the rotors are just in sync with the camera's framerate.
The video is cut when it powers down, thats why its edited as it lands and then you see the rotors winding down.

Listen to the engine, you can hear it quite clearly. It's the camera's shutter speed. Not all cameras have slow obturation.
