I don't think that just because you can make a reference to a great series of the past gives you the right to completely re-animate the entire song the exact same way (albeit thirty seconds) just for a joke that doesn't exist.
omg. I was rolling on the floor when I saw this on Family Guy.. I was a child in the 70's and grew up on Sesame street, Electric company and mr. Rodgers neighborhood....all terrific shows. they will never make 'em like this again. the music of the time was just groove. and they didn't have fancy keyboards with computer chips to imitate sounds. they used real instruments. No digital sampling! the only problem is the song gets stuck in your head!
