  • I like to watch Hawaii Five-O and love McGarrett!

    Cool~~~

  • is that Jack "Lord Oh Mighty"

  • Good stuff, makes me want to record the entire series of 5-0, edit together a one hour car chase as an episode, except I am way to busy to do that at the moment, so it will have to wait until my retirement, great to see all of those lovely old 60's and 70's cars :(

  • Wow. Sirens drive me crazy, I tell ya. Won't get hook to that. After 5-0 minutes, there goes the catch 22.

  • car chase? it takes 4 minutes for these cars to turn a corner! this whole chase was around a parking lot, once

  • mute or turn down the volume and put on Driver 1 music :D Epic!

  • 6 people have never been to Hawaii

  • THE MAN...STEVE McARRETT

    THE CAR ,,,1968 MERCURY PARKLANE

THE MISSION ...KEEP THE ROCK CLEAN OF THUGS AND HOODLUMS

  • Hahaha I didnt know the car could drive sideways 4:54 haha

  • Jack lord!! ^_^ :-)

  • Jack lord!!

  • Seeing those old cars in car chases just reminds me of how much horsepower in relation to how little or no handling, stability and traction control they had.

  • from what season is this episode? :)

  • from what season is this episode? :)

  • Does anyone know that Mercury at 4:38 ?

  • @JohnGribbin its a 73 ford custom 500. base trim full size ford used in taxi and police fleets

  • @socalltd yeah! Thx buddy!

  • I love the black Chrysler (New Yorker, Newport?) at 0:56-59. It's fun to see these beautiful American cars in their prime.

  • Greatness as only McGarrett (well maybe McCarnigal) can do. Haven't seen a good thrash editing job like that in a while.

  • Scotch tape, a razor blade, Dad's Yashika Super-8mm = Awesomeness! Revel in the crappy glory!

  • So bad, so cheesy, so crappy, I had to add it to favorites. Great bit of work. I'm guessing that the guy in the Mustang has right hook drive?

  • @Hotrodelectric Not bad, cheesy, or crappy. It's better than the overblown car chases they do now.

  • Great video..But the clip with his foot is always used in other episodes..

  • McGarrett is smooth. When you look up "COOL" in the dictionary , you see his picture.

Notice how he parks crossways in the street in front of his state office building! haha

Jack Lord loved Hawaii , if I remember right , he would work only in the islands. I wish our actors of today had the class of Jack Lord.

  • This is a bunch of miscellaneous car chase clips edited together from different episodes, but the actual "Five-0" chases were equally fake if you knew where the locations really were. If you were from Honolulu, you often saw silly editing of cars in places that were actually miles apart.

I'm particularly amused by Dano saying "We just passed Bishop Museum" as he's shown driving on Kapiolani Boulevard past the McKinley High School sports field.

  • i kinda like the editing..made it fun! we never missed an episode in my house back then! it was funny that everytime jack lord would pull up somewhere in his mercury, he would allways skid to a stop!..lol...

  • This is one of the funniest things I have ever seen. A true classic with an all time ending. Thanks for bringing back the joy of Five - O.

  • Awesome!! I remember the "Hookman" episode from when I was a kid!

  • 1968 Merc Rules

  • I want a noose and I want it tight

    Jack is LORD

  • I like it, it feels almost surreal!

  • Mcgarrett -

    2:54 outfit 1

    3:31 outfit 2

    3:42 outfit 3

    3:58 outfit 4

  • Love that Mercury Park Lane Brougham

  • First off all, they shoulda charge that dump truck driver for obstruction of justice! XD

  • Whats with no flashing police lights for the era on the unmarkeds?

  • What is the name of the episode

  • five-o...great bad acting and useless gestures! but it cheers me up every time.

  • I love watching those big goverment issue sleds trying to corner.

  • B52: I took the video clips and reversed them for several segments. I was trying to piece together many segments to make one long chase. Notice the many instances where reversed images. There are only @ 5 source episodes. I grew up with Five-O and still believe it to be one of the finest "cop dramas" ever. Cast, location, action, story line, you name it. "Five-O" is even modern day slang for the police. Jack Lord rules!

Thank you to everyone for your comments on my "work" over the years.

  • great work...5 stars

  • @bushwood You're right. Hawaii Five-O is the best police drama ever, and Jack Lord rules!

  • You did a great job. It brought back memories. Thanks!

  • Jack Lord only had the two cars in the 12 years the show was on TV. A 68 and a 74 Mercury.

  • Comment removed

  • Actually, there was a third. He also had a 1967 Marquis two door, black with a red interior. It was in the pilot episode and in various "stock footage" scenes thereafter. In fact, it can be seen at 4:52 in this video.

  • When TV shows were REALLY interesting, and when the US-made automobile was worth beating one's own chest in praise!

  • When I become Dictator-for-Life, my secret police will be using those Hawaii Five-O Mercs.

  • @baraxor Amen I still Want to Find one.

  • that cool at 4:55 man

  • It's Like Like Highway. Funny how he's at the warehouses then in mid town, then back at the warehouses in a second!

  • did anyone notice the gearshift on the getaway car at 2:22? it is on the driver side.

  • I checked....the film (for some reason) is reversed. Look at the network ID (FOX4) on the bottom.....it is backwards as opposed to all the other network IDs which are readable.

  • oh...i see it

  • now thats body roll.

  • Awesome...Grand Theft Auto: Hawaii! Loved the quick shot of the Chrysler 300 coupe.

  • Very cool! Great job! It's pretty neat seeing the streets of Oahu back in the day. =)

  • A great job to accumulate so many scenes. Yet what is most interesting is how all of us is the way in which the power of Steve McGarrett was also reflected in his car, and its scenes of of strength and power. We get a glimpse of the moytor of the car in the last of the Vashion trilogy "Patriarch" when the bomb squad removes the bomb from underneath the hood. We get a very quick glace , on that i will look closer at when it comes to DVD, but you can see 390 on the air cleaner.

  • I love this! It's like they're running around like idiots and can't catch this guy. McGarrett keeps dropping his radio in the car and changes his suit when he goes inside his office, changing it back to go on the chase again. AWESOME! Liki Liki Highway!

  • McGarrett isn't changing his clothes, that's just CBS being cheap and using stock footage interspersed with new footage and no QC to check for continuity!

  • Hookman!

  • Filler...

    All Filler and No Killer!

  • very good car chase for the time

  • Hawaii Five_O one of the most classic police drama ever. It even reminds me of a combination of "Dirty Harry, and The Streets of San Francisco" with a touch of Steve McQueen essence in it.

  • Good One

  • Sliding that big car through the grass at 4:54 was bad ass!

  • Nothing like trying to get a two and a half ton LTD to do anything but go in a straight line. Steve's Mercury showed up in a studio warehouse a few years ago. A collector has it now.

  • thats not fair.. my LTD is only 4500lbs even!

they used several a few from 68-73 then a 74 till the end?

  • Why does the car at 3:07 have right side steering wheel?

  • Because that's how it was built, sheeeeesh!!!

  • Dano was the glue that held the operation together.....he was the level head, in contrast to the other "cowboys"

  • "Book 'em, Dan-o".. poor Dan-o never did anything but paperwork. but great memories.. i remember watching this when it was original.

  • me too! I guess you're as old as I am!

  • The editing is indeed crappy....BUT WHAT THE HECK???? Still funny in seeing all the different episodes sliced together into one...mess?

  • Thank you Scott for the kind words. Yes, krappy editing. But, intentional (or with as much effort as I wanted to put in) effort to make it "good". Keep the faith, Bruddah.

  • Always cracks me up when you get a close up of the speedometer, showing 100mph, yet the car is clearly doing about 40mph! Mind you, in those lardy American cars, the handling is lethal at any speed above that...and you'd be out of fuel pretty quickly, too ;-))

  • Oh lordy lordy I'll never look at an american car again...

  • Fuck off! American cars are the most beatiful cars in the world!!! And you CAN drive them at 80 mph without problems!

  • btw. I was beeing sarcastic :P

  • Sorry, I meant owenpetard.

  • Nice try but it's too choppy!

  • This was crappily edited. Just make sense of the epsisodes.

  • @2:21 bacwards, I guess it all is.

  • Wow that one armed man is everywhere...

  • Thank God for McGarrett's EXTRA HOLD styling gel !!

  • Gotta LOVE those big Fords and Merc's...Detroit Iron circa 1968-1972 (?)

  • Hawaii Five-O on crack!

  • How come no one seems to slide across the bonnet of there car anymore? it seemed to be very effective 30 years ago...

  • Have you looked at the stuff they make hoods out of now days? Try sliding across a modern hood and it will collapse!

  • gumbypiz and snowrocket, the editing wasn't the shows fault, someone got creative and spliced all this together.... it was cool to watch though!

Now, what happened to the guy in the Mustang?

  • Its obvious that someone spliced this clip together. The point is that if you're familiar with the show, you'll notice that they use clips from past car chase scenes. Watch for the same two Ford Patrol cars cresting over that hill through the four way, and the same Ford car peeling out just after one officer hops in. Various clips of two, then four door Mercs edited in from the first few seasons....

  • Best cop show ever!

  • the very end scene was a nascar you could totatly tell

  • Anyone know what episode the scene at 0:58 is from?

  • Just getting to know this series, but I allready think it is absolutely great. I enjoyed the first season on dvd anyway! The way McGarrett looks, moves and talks combined with the Hawaiian decor, car chases like this and gorgeous music make this unforgettable!!!!!

  • Running hot with just a siren...no lights of any kind...gotta love it!

  • ever notice mcgarret had high heels..makes him taller..he looks rediculous wearing high heels and chasing bad guys

  • Kind of disappointed that you didn't have more shots of McGarrett locking up the brakes at the end of each chase scene. (ever wonder why the big McG had to lock 'em up to a murder/crime scene that had already gone down? What was the hurry?) I thought I was the only one who noticed how poorly edited the car scenes were done for this show, love the change of two to four door Merc shots and how they "recycled" scenes from previous shows and other TV and movies to suit their needs...

  • HAHAHA!!!Gold Lincoln lost its hubcap

  • McGarrets hair spray was awesome too, his hair was never out of place!

  • McGarrets car was awesome, back in the day when car companies made real cars.

  • Real slow boat-like cars.

  • it would better if he just jump it

  • Yeah, you're right about the editing, but I liked it anyway. Some lady and her hubby own that black 4-door Mercury Monterey that McGarrett drove all those years. They nagged CBS until CBS sold it to them. It was wrecked and in BAD shape. It's like new now. 428 V8!

  • Monterey/Park Lane...It would need a 428(or so)to keep up with a Mustang.

  • one of seveal, there were 3 cars Mc garret drove 1. late 67 monterey 2 door(pilot) 2. one black 4 door-destroyed in an episode in 77/78 season(disco episode) 3. Black 74 grand marquis 73/74 season til the end of 80. the one that got wrecked has been restored CBS keept it till worn down to sell... story from a ford hobbie mag about a year ago.

  • The days when tv shows trully entertained you with great acting and action, not the crap they have today.Cars were just as important as the actors, great stuff.

  • right on!!

  • mustangs and lincolns = sweet

  • MMM.. Mustangs, fullsize fords & lincolns lossing hubcaps = SWEET!

  • cops are crooked.

  • Thanks for sharing !

  • a big "book'em danno!"

  • This is great!
