@moviemoviemadness Yes you do. Every game over you lose any unsaved progress in a world (so anything pre-fort or castle) and you lose your items. But all of the toad house pop back up so you can just go through and binge on items in previous worlds.

HINT: it is a pattern (the mushroom house) there is just something like 5 of them rotating. If you get your hands on the patterns (technically not cheating because it's not a game room. Not really...) then you just have to find the square that differs for everyone of them and begin by that one and them all the stuff is yours!

Or, you know, continue playing by the rules :)
