Chinooks burn 2400 pounds of fuel an hour, 6 hours of operation results in 14,400 pounds of fuel burn to move 60,000 pounds of aluminum scrap. 14,000 pounds equates to 2,148 gallons, at USD 3.00 a gallon that is a fuel bill of 6,444 USD.

Of course you can talk in absolute terms!. The absolute amount of CO2 being produced globally is what causes the damage not the per capita level and China is the biggest producer. Right but, think about a world with too much CO2, an example being Venus. Atmosphere is 95% CO2 and has led to surface temperatures of 460 degrees and pressure 9 times that of earth. Not very conducive to life.

The total amount of energy that was used in building this "green house" defeats the purpose of recycling and that includes the flights of that giant helicopter burning fuel.
Real green houses are the ones that the Native Americans used for 10,000 years with no enviromental impact.

Most "envriomentalists" do it for style and are ignorant of what is envrionmentally sound. Know who I find knows most about the envrionment? -Building your home on what would normally be a pristine mountain top
-spending 2 mil on a house that will negatively impact the environment around you.

Okay, so they fly in big pieces because they can't truck them in, and then they chop up the big pieces. (Why not chop it up then truck it to the site?) They think that a $2 million dollar home is green? You don't need that much space so big is not green even if it was made from recycled materials. What a waste of time and money for plane parts, but it made a nice story for yuppies trying to do the right think while staying sleek. Search for "container homes", and you will see a much better idea.
