I get the feeling that these Chinese artists don't really "get it". Their's is a poor copy of what organically grew out of the American counter culture and the Warhol circle. China didn't go through the same process, so why would China's avant garde movement look just like NY's Soho or Greenwich village?
They are doing China a disservice. What they are doing is irrelevant to Chinese society and what it is trying to say. As much as I hate Warhol, China needs its own 32 Campbell's Soup Cans.

wow they know far too much about the west. Id say alot of the exhibits are copied from western ones, like the people half painted with the wall. The yang rou chaurrr was the most intresting thing that day.

could not agree with the old guy more. The so called avant garde art in 798 are really "some fucking performance" . Copycat Warhol without basis from grassroot or background. Some of them claim that they speak for the people, they actually just speak for whatever they donot even understand themselves. No wonder this garbage collector old man say that 'thats some fucking performance' ! LOL
