  • I am very happy to see the vidoe after you give this Alan Turing, Father of Computer Science - Eduardo Galeano

  • I Really Like The Video From Your Alan Turing, Father of Computer Science - Eduardo Galeano

  • Your Video Is Very Useful Sharing Alan Turing, Father of Computer Science - Eduardo Galeano

  • after i watched this video, my insight is very open because the video Alan Turing, Father of Computer Science Eduardo Galeano is very good to give information

  • truly heartbreaking that a man of turings genius was treated in this way. i honestly believe it is one of the most shameful acts in our country's history. i find it ironic that we now talk about turing on these machines when without him there would be no computers. he shaped our world into what it is now and should be recognised as a real architect of our world today.

  • so sad naman.. but nice,,,

  • Very moving, we should never judge or interfere with a consenting adult's sex life, whether they are married, single, heterosexual or homosexual. It was one of the most shameful episodes in British history that this man was physically and psychologically abused by the British authorities.

  • Alan Turing will soon become Sir Alan Turing. That's right, he's being knigheted pot-humerously.

  • @Frodojo111

where did you get that info?

  • @simply2ghetto

    I was wrong...........nevermind

  • il video è su Reset Italia.net

    col titolo

Apple : Ciao Steve Jobs! Sulla Terra continueremo come naviganti a scansare bocconi avvelenati…

    GRTAZIE

  • Today is Alan Turing's 99th birthday. Thanks Alan for giving us what is now the field of computation.

  • Very good and such a sad story :( For a fun cartoon bio of Alan Turing search youtube for 'Turing Fav scientist'.

  • I can' t understand how so much ignorance could finally take such a Brilliant Genius away from the entire human race so early!!!! It was a Crime!

  • TTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUURRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRIIIIIIIIIIIIIINNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG

  • @ShakyamuniX is gay

  • an apple a day

  • crime123 is correct it was Tommy Flowers, and also The Apple logo is not Turing homage, Turing's idea yes, Flowers did it. No offense or disregard to Turing

  • its a bit sick that the apple logo has a bite taken out of it

  • I can recommend the movie with Derek Jacobi as Turing.

  • Alan Turing did not crack the cipher of the German High Command, that was the work of Thomas Howard Flowers and his Colossus computer.

Alan Turing cracked the Enigma code, which was used --for instance-- by the German U-boats. (The Enigma code had however already been cracked by Polish mathematician, Marian Rejewski).

This does in no way diminish Alan's great pioneering work on creating the computer as we have it today. Thanks Alan.

  • @areliusIS You are almost right. The man used to work for what was called the GPO he was asked by Alan Turing to build a decoder for the relay-based Bombe machine, which Turing had developed to help decrypt the Germans' Enigma codes. Although the decoder project was abandoned, Turing introduced him to Max Newman who was leading the effort to break a teletype-based cipher, called Geheimschreiber. Thomas Harold Flowers, Abbot Road East London. Thomas Harold Flowers, Abbot Road East London.

  • 3:38am Saturday (CDT) - Time in M

    i just stopping by

  • Alan Turing is Computer God. Great Man.

  • Turing would have been 98 today!

  • Turing is Awesome FTW

  • lmao

  • really? thousands upon thousands of years spent to give one another the ability to communicate, and that's what you share? thanks.

  • no entiendo, porque esta en este foro/presentation nuestro galeano?

  • Esta presentando su libro 'espejos' en ingles.

  • suicide is the most probable story, although it doesn't seem that clear what exactly happened.

it's ironic how someone who envisioned the future was prosecuted by laws from the past.

  • Very Touching... every time I see Apple's logo, i remember the original rainbow colors and think about Turings tragic history.

I actually read he was very fond of Disney's original Snowwhite and the Seven Dwarfs (saw the movie several times) and hence would have gotten the idea of the poisoned apple.

  • Is Apple's logo in memory of Turing? I've heard of his machine, but not of the man before?

  • There are different myths of origin about Apple's logo, but the original logo (rainbow colored bitten apple) combines the color symbols of the gay movement and the symbol of Turing's homosexuality-related suicide...

My source is the book by Laurant Lemire: "Alan Turing. L'homme qui a croqué la pomme."

  • The apple symbolizes knowledge as in the Genesis account of the fall of man. The colors in the now obsolete Apple logo aren't at all similar to those in the rainbow flag.

  • You're right, I found this online: "The first Apple logo was designed by Jobs and Wayne in 1976, featuring Isaac Newton sitting under an apple tree. That Apple logo was immediately changed by designer Rob Janoff into the rainbow apple. This was done to commemorate the discoveries of gravity (the apple) and the separation of light (the colors) done by Isaac Newton and possibly to tribute the fruit of the Tree of Knowledge in Adam and Eves story".

    cheers!

  • @jalgjalg

why was he fond of that movie?

  • @soccom8341576

I'm not sure. In "L'homme qui a croqué la pomme" it is suggested that Turing had been looking for an elegant way out of life. The poisoned apple immediately struck him as the ideal and simple sollution.

An apple plunged in the sleep of death: he just couldn't think of a more poetic way to go...

  • @jalgjalg WOW! is that true? If that is that is by far the most impressive thing I have ever heard!

Even if it isn't im going to believe it is!

  • For those who weren't aware, today (June 23) is Turing's birthday.

  • cool, I did a presentation on the turing machine today

  • 101/100 :)

  • This story breaks my heart. I...it's just so sad.
