I doubt shogun could make 170 his frame is to big, he could make 185 clean though. Shogun is not big on cutting, neither is Lyoto and a good percent of high level brazilian fighters. Cutting gives you a strength and size advantage, and is very popular with wrestling based fighters and camps. It is also a disadvantage when the fight is dragged into deep water (later rounds) fighters who cut alot often get burned here with there cardio.
