  • honestly though, what kind of fitness level were you before you were able to do this? I mean, is there any kind of training you would recommend towards achieving this skill?

  • @zacbra I've done virtually nothing to achieve this, I've just always been pretty strong compared to my bodyweight. When I recorded this, I had done some weight lifting and had been practicing capoeira for some time as well. "Some" being about 4-5 months of each I'd say.

Recommendations: Practice L-sit, tuck planche and handstand, those are the three static positions this trick goes through. When you have those down (and can hold them for a few seconds), start practicing the whole transition.

  • @zacbra The gymnasticbodies forum has a lot of solid information on the things I mentioned. :)

  • @Kyoshiro797 Hah, awesome comment!

  • I'll bet you're doing that in front of books so we know you're not just a muscle head ;)

  • You made that look easy jerk I can do it but its a struggle lol

  • @Datkylekid

Hah, I apologize! ;) Well, I had practiced it a lot, so yeah, it was pretty easy. Not sure how long I would be able to hold the handstand for now, I haven't done this particular trick in a while.

  • how do you know when you are strong enouth to do this?

  • @Alesandros356

I guess the only way to find out is to try it out. Sit down and do it. If you succeed, you're strong enough - if you don't, you're not ;)

  • i always rock my forehead on the ground once or twice while doing these.

  • Damn man, this really is hard... But the real thing isn't done with your legs bent like that, you have to keep em straight all the time. I train in a gymnastics hall so I see those guys doing crazy stuff like that every day. But don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that you suck. You're stronger than me, I give you that. :)

  • @kanshiketsu89

What "real thing"? There's no one way to do this, and there'll always be a way to make it harder. I just did what I'm capable of at the moment :)

  • @mithor1

Yeah, guess you're right. And no matter how you look at it, there's no EASY way to do such exercises. I can do a front lever for instance, but even when I do the easier version with one leg bent, it's still ain't easy.. :P So yeah, you definitely rock. But say, how come this is the only strength-thing video you've posted?

  • @kanshiketsu89

Well, I'm not a gymnast, so this is pretty much all I can do :P That I know of and isn't weight-lifting related, anyway. I tried doing it with my legs straight like you said, and I actually could. Didn't stand very long once I got up there, but the getting up-part was successful. I can also stand with an angle, where my legs are at a 70 degree angle with the floor. I guess I could try recording those things.

If you have any ideas to something you think I could do, let me know :)

  • @mithor1

Lol, sounds like you're really owning this exercise. :) Maybe you should record that 70 degree thing, I haven't seen anybody else doing that. And for the ideas, try a front lever, the human flag and a planche. These are my 3 goals. I can do the first one, I'm kinda close with the human flag, and I totally suck with the planche... XD

  • @kanshiketsu89

Okay, just recorded and uploaded a pretty successful 70 degree one. Stood there almost as long as in this vid :P

I think what I'm closest to of those three is the human flag, and I'm not very close, so probably won't be able to do those in the near future :P

  • wow man that takes skill, and lot of strengh in your arms, very cool

  • Dude you are fucking RIPPED
