Nick and Tess both made a lot of mistakes with each other. They turn to other people they didn't really love to get over their feelings for each other. Tess was scared of following her heart and Nick was scared of getting rejected again. It doesn't matter though. They are still one of the most romantic, beautiful couples I have ever seen. The way they loved each other so completely was beautiful. I want a love like their, and this scene is amazing.
No, they weren't together, but they were flirting and he just should have told Tess that he had something going on with Sally, because she perceived it differently. And I mostly felt sorry for poor Sally, because he was just using her as a back-up, in case things wouldn't work with Tess.
Yes he was using Sally. But I think it was more to assuage his ego than as a back up. His ego was bruised at what he thought was Tess's constant rejection of him. It started when Tess ran out on him at Wilgul. When he thought she was going back to Dave, he felt rejected again. He needed to feel wanted to get over that blow to his ego. As for Sally, she always knew Nick had a thing for Tess. She was a fool to get back with him.
That still doesn't justify why he was using her, while she was clearly in love with him and he KNEW that. He had too much of an ego thing going on there. Anyway, I liked the clip, thanks for uploading it.
I don't feel sorry for Sally because she knew where Nick's heart was the first time they lived together and she left him for it. He used her then too. Did she expect him to change that much? Later she does something to trap him and it still doesn't work.
What does she do to trap him (it's been years since I watched the show)? She's pregnant later and tries to get him involved with the baby at first, which is hardly 'trapping' him.
The fact that he used her before, to me, does not justify him using her again. Just because the person you're using knows you're using them doesn't mean it's right. She may rationally 'know' better, but she loves him and he should not take advantage of that in this way and use it as a free license to be a jerk.
Sally is a grown woman responsible for her actions. I should know - been there done that. Took me years to own my part in it but it takes 2 to make a baby. And I did say they BOTH should be smacked! :-)
I still feel bad for Sally, even though she is responsible for her own actions, because she is acting this way because she's in love with him, and he knows that. Of course it's her business what she does with that, but Nick just isn't being straightforward to either Sally or Tess. The fact that Sally is an adult doesn't rob Nick of his responsibility of being decent. I don't think Sally got pregnant on purpose, but I don't remember - is it ever stated?
@Chocolateluvr1987 It's never stated but every time you have sex you take the risk of getting pregnant, contraceptives or not. You have to think before you act - if you don't want a child with this person, the only 100% way to guarantee that is to not have sex with him/her. If people thought before they acted, there would be fewer unwanted/oops babies being born.
That was a really sweet scene and I loved the song. The only thing that spoiled it for me was the fact that Nick was seeing Sally at the same time, and that made me think "what a bastard".
