  • i have a 78 f150 with an 8ft bed. love it!

  • Famous for the AMC pacer?

  • Keep the 400 and save the money you'd spend buying adaptor motor mounts and exhaust for the 460! The 400 with a decent cam, carb and intake with timing gears set straight up, will jump plumb naked!! You aint got to go crazy on the cam and carb either.Cam it in the 268 to 272 duration range with a modest .480 to .510 lift & a 600 to 670 cfm carb. That combo will be very streetable and will run on 87 octane pump gas .

  • ah i really like oshkosh. nice place. AIR ADVENTURE!!!

  • ah i really like oshkosh. nice place

  • I had a 78 just like yours it was one of the best truck I ever had, now I have a restored 1976 F150 4x4 it's got a 390 and a 4 spd with granny gear 12.50x 33 tires and a 3" lift it's a stepside to new bright orange paint if you want to see it look on youtube under musclecarpower, yours looks like it won't be too hard to restore, just watch the chevys I almost wore the old ford out pulling them out of the mud.

  • Nice truck im lookin for a 78 for a project truck. im 16 now so no rush.

  • it doesnt need to be restored its clean. whoever sold it for 500 was on some serious drugs where i come from you can sell that thing for 4k easy

  • @TheAzguy79

It looks pretty clean from the vid but the bed is rotting away pretty bad, clamps on the rear spring leafs are almost nonexistence. Frame rust is pretty bad too. got a couple wholes peakin through

  • what are you talkin aboot?

  • $500? WOW.

  • damn id the wheels off that fucker for 500 hundred dollars

  • It's our right as Youtube'rs to argue.

  • @cracker605 All 335 series motors, check. All based on the Cleveland design, check. Some parts interchange, check. All small blocks, check. If you actually put the two side by side, no confusing the two. I have owned or worked on dozens of FE's, MEL's, 385's, 335's, Windsors, Flatheads, v10's, Navistars, Super Duty Engines(the old 1950's-1980's engines), Y-blocks, and so on, so when I hear people belting out wrong info I jump on it to help inform others, not to start fights.

  • @cracker605 The 351m/400 are designed after the Cleveland, yes. But what I am saying is that it's not a cleveland because they are different blocks if you actually compare them. If you had two of them sitting in your garage such as I have then you would know the difference. Don't just go by what you read. As far as backwoods hick, where do you get that? You don't know me from Adam you idiot. I can call you that because you have proved it so.

  • @cracker605 The joke is you.

  • @cracker605 There is no point in arguing with a moron. The 385 series are the same general design with minor differences that are all interchangeable. There is no such engine as the Modified cleveland. That is just common sense. Sure the 400 and 351m are designed after the 351 Cleveland and yes there are interchangeable parts(I put 351C heads on my 400) but in no way shape or form are the M-series called Modified Clevelands.

  • The 400 came out then the 351M. The 400 was never called the 400 Modifed Cleveland. It was made in Michigan. You need some wrenching time under your belt before you try to teach others.

  • @cracker605 Do this for me. Go find a 351M or 400 engine, buy an aftermarket 351Cleveland intake manifold and see how well it fits. Then tell me once again that they are all the same engines. I put cleveland heads on my M-block and then I put an aftermarket dual-plane cleveland intake manifold on it. I needed to fabricate spacers so the intake manifold would seat against the heads because the M block is about 2 inches wider than the Cleveland.

  • OH MY GOD!! How hilarious! You tell me knowledge is power when you have no Idea what your talking about. I have been working on 351M's and 400's for 15 years and you think I'm gonna buy this bullshit your talking about? First, it's 351M for modified 400. There is no such thing as a 400M. It's a common misunderstanding. The 400 came out in 1971. The 351M which is a destroked 400(hence it was modified) came out in 1975. There is NO 400M. Look it up. Neither engines are clevelands.

  • The 400 is not called an M-block but most people refer to it as that. The M-block is based on the Cleveland but the M-block is larger. The M-block was made in Flat Rock, Michigan, not Cleveland. Knowledge, GET SOME!!!

  • @cracker605 What the fuck is a 400 modified cleveland? A make believe engine huh?

  • 66K $500? Lad....... You got a hell of a deal!

  • it was manual originally. Bogwarner tranny i think? Looked it up a while ago can't remember. I have a C6 that came with the 460 that will be goin in.

  • i know exactly where that is lol i drive my 1979 f250 with a 5 inch lift and a 351 all the time and i took that frontage road when i drove my deuce and a half up to are farm in shawano wisconain

  • hey ? for ya. you didn't happen to bring your computer to a best buy within the past week or so did ya?

  • no lol i live in chicago

  • same name lol

  • Comment removed

  • i cnt believe u bought tht for $500 niice steal

  • me neither. that thing is in better shape than mine. dang i got screwed.lol

  • believe me it needs it. Truck needs new body mounts, new leaf spring bushings, could probably use axle rebuilds, and new hubs on the front. Why not pull the cab, box, and motor, sand blast the frame, paint it and put everything back on. Not that hard, and won't take that much more time. so shush :)

  • did you realy buy this for only $500........ thats fricken amazing

  • nice trucks. one thing tho your a friggen moron if your gonna do a frame up resto and then mud it

  • 400 held up pretty good. Had some grunt. I'm hopin i can tell the difference when I put the 460 in there.

  • my uncle has an f250 with a 400m, cam been change idr how much its changed and the motor is bored 30 ovr but she has some balls...4:10 axles, eats fuel but put 1 ton of anything behind her and it doesnt even know its there so either way if u wanna stick the 460 thts cool but u can do the 400 up jus as good

  • that was a steal for 500 man, nice truck. How does the 400 do?

  • hahaha good ole wisconsin... im from pepin WI

  • its amazing how cheap you can find those trucks for i love both of mine thats a good project

  • Tires are TSL Boggers, not swampers

  • your right. super swamper tsl bogger tires. same thing in my book :p

  • Kinda.. :D

  • i agree crackferry, was very drawn out. I'll keep that in mind when I post some new vids this summer. Thanks!

  • Buck buster is WRONG, In 1978 Ford only used round headlights on custom models only everything else had square lights thast is why his has the square lights cause it is a Ranger Xlt. So everyhting is correct for that truck.

  • ur awesome man and so are ur trucks!

  • wow ur lucky, its hard as hell to find one anywhere near that condition for less than 1500 round here..im lookin at one right now for a 1000

  • yeah you have to be airplane crazy to really enjoy the airventure show.

  • So much for this secret location, I know where it is, I can't wait to see when this truck is finished

  • ive been to that air venture in the summer and it was so boring id rather go to a truck bog or car show
