when i upload some audio on windows movie maker it fucking goes up to like 20-30 mins but the audio is really 3 mins. it always has this fucking problem.
Try closing your web browser and all other applications + increase the CPU priority of WMM to highest. That might solve the problem. You may also put the video together in components, so that you make one project for part 1, another project for part 2 and so on, and make the respective projects into videofiles, then you put them together into yet another project, and save into the final movie, that would give you more control over the process. You might also temporarily overclock your CPU.
Zwein stein is the best video editor around... if you count features and prestanda... but not if you count intuitiveness of user interface and ease of use.
Windows Movie Maker's narration tool sucks ballsack. Every time I've ever used it, it never syncs the video and sound correctly. About half way through the video, I'm saying shit that I should have said 10 seconds ago.

Not to mention that it takes about 1/10 the time to render than WMM (in most cases).
I have a friend whom files can't be saved for some goddamn silly reason like the unavailable source or similar issues.That's what the error says.Could it the windows be the wrong one to fit the program?

Agree with ROCK4LIFERADIO, it all depends on your computer how much video you can process at once, the time to process exponentially increases as you create longer and longer videos. Usually if I'm making a video that's 15 minutes or so, I just go do something else... for those who say it's simple, check out rehanfx .org

That happened to me too. Your not the only one who had this problem. Btw, just uninstall it and install it again and it will work normal. Hope that works.

this happened to me one time. i don't remember what i was trying to save movie wise, but i let it do that for one minuets and stopped it. then i tried to save it again and it worked just fine. so if it happens again just stop it and it will or should work out for you just fine once you try again.
Sometimes, I'll be working on a video when suddenly, WMM(windows movie maker) will freese and go into this "loading state" and the only thing i can do is close it when i HAVEN'T EVEN SAVED MY VIDEO! Luckily, WMM will restore my project( though sometimes it will have a part missing) I REALLY HATE that you can't have overlapping music on WMM.

I have a question. I have a long video of a show that I want to post on YT. It is 21 minutes long meaning I have to make a part 1 and a part 2. How can I split the video in Windows Movie Maker and save the chunks separately so I can upload a part 1 and a part 2. It's an old show so I don't have to worry about it getting pulled.

this happened to me one time. i don't remember what i was trying to save movie wise, but i let it do that for one minuets and stopped it. then i tried to save it again and it worked just fine. so if it happens again just stop it and it will or should work out for you just fine once you try again.

Sometimes, I'll be working on a video when suddenly, WMM(windows movie maker) will freese and go into this "loading state" and the only thing i can do is close it when i HAVEN'T EVEN SAVED MY VIDEO! Luckily, WMM will restore my project( though sometimes it will have a part missing) I REALLY HATE that you can't have overlapping music on WMM.

Tell me about it! I tried to make an epic war movie for a contest but the only software I could find was wmm. The options for effects were so limited we had the fact that we had bad effects a joke! For gun fire we had to have in red letters "bang bang bang"! And of course I lost to Europeans.

WMM sucks and YOU KNOW IT.
This happened to me on the Vista version, too. Bought Serif MoviePlus X3 and it worked wonders.
And the "Live" version does not change my opinion one bit.
Also, to Blinkazoid: I hope you have a good editor now.

It took me a lot of time ((YEARS) to get into this: use ONLY---- WMF, WMV and WMA, i mean ONLY MS Windows formats! don`t use AVI, mpg, mp3, or any other kind of files: in most of the cases WIndows Movie Maker won't work!! Convert it FIRST to the Windows formats...!!!!!! Cruel experience! if you follow this advice WMM is the best an easy way to create videos!

I have a question. I have a long video of a show that I want to post on YT. It is 21 minutes long meaning I have to make a part 1 and a part 2. How can I split the video in Windows Movie Maker and save the chunks separately so I can upload a part 1 and a part 2. It's an old show so I don't have to worry about it getting pulled.

@7477238 umm what i would do is first find the time you want to split it on (like 9 minutes) and click on clip on the top and click split. and the rest shopuld be very easy
