  • What's with Wilson's accent! "Aye lad, the sands reet difrent than thee did whenth thee were on't Graanda reports - or't tryin tut flog dead orse o' those reet flippin bleedin eeediots appy mondeys"

Never was a good guy so full of shit

  • Brilliant interview.

  • He is deep down a really intelligent man. Also he is sound

  • Sounds like a cool guy.

  • Wilson was ticking him off like he was his dad

  • I'd love to say I thought Ian was smart, but, I just don't think he is. He gives off a bit if a dippy vibe and is a bit of a shit chatter, has a nice smile though.

  • @rosiewardd96 Brown is either punching people, mainly women, like his wife, or being really chilled out and reasonable

  • the best interivew with him..but hes still up a bit

  • go on ian....keep ploughin' forward.....

  • Brown seems to treat men like Tony Wilson with far more respect than many other presenters-he looks down on some people and looks like he is about to deck them.

  • @johnnycheck99 yeh it's coz tony wilson founded the hacienda, i think that club made ian brown

  • He's got a nice smile hasn't he? Seems strange 'cause his demeanour isn't always so nice

  • WTF is goin' on with Ian's eyes!

  • He can be so cool and thoughtful and he can be such a douchebag. A true enigma.

  • Skud...both legend for me

  • genius the one true legend

  • what a mint lad

  • hehe "we weren't MODs" what's wrong with mods?

  • @kaliyuta Ive heard Oasis say the same thing .I think he is just clarifying they weren't Claiming to be bonafide serious Mods as there are here and there.. cheers

  • @muttilo what?

  • @kaliyuta I dunno.. whatever

  • @muttilo why are you so mean?

  • @kaliyuta WHAT !? are you joking ? Im would never mean to be mean If I offended you somehow sorry XO

  • @muttilo I am sorry i did not realize i was speaking to you again , you must think Im a SOB Please no offense and you have an impresive channel for real Im not joking . sorry to bother u

  • @kaliyuta I feel like an idiot ! .If you ever come to Miami I owe you lunch

  • @muttilo No worries my friend. No worries. So you like the "Tribal screeching" After all eh?

  • @kaliyuta Now who's the smarty pants miss ?.. yeah i do:)

  • @muttilo Not trying to be smarty.just wanting to know why you were mean now nice.that's all peace.

  • @kaliyuta just kidin(BTW Nobody REALLY THinks i am) but i see why u think so, sorry again .xo

  • @muttilo I think maybe you are shy,and this is why maybe your communication is a little different. If your are spanish, why do you like brit pop so much?

  • @kaliyuta Im Cuban/Italian but my Grandmother who raised me for a LONG time was from...Manchester ! .Mancunian by culture and spirit in some not all ways lol

I would say British Music in general rather than strictly "Britpop" for examplepush comes to shove my favorite live band would be the Who in thier Keith Moon prime .anyway cheers .btw I rather put this on your channel but cant lol

  • @muttilo Wow what an interesting backround.Yes i thought that you were "mulatto" at first.Due to it almost sounds like your name.Anyway i too am mixed backround.I guess i use the term "Britpop" loosely, but i love these bands.I love J.D./N.O. The Jam,Northside I love them all.

  • Am i like the only one that's slightly freaked out by the satanic altar looking table behind him?

  • What I like about Tony Wilson is that he seems genuinely interested in his subjects. He's never tried to be hip...e.g. when he brought the Pistols up to Manchester and promoted the punk scene. He was still young then (late 20's?) but didn't succumb to the shallow visual aspects of the new scene. A proper journalist enquiring into his subject with searching questions...not scene stealing. Brown seems very relaxed here. He could be prickly but Wilson doesn't patronise him

  • nice wee dig at squire in there.

  • Comment removed

  • @koalajones88

Not for me, I personally liked the records. You were obviously into the haircuts and the silly walks.

  • Cheers. Excellent match of interviewer & interviewee.

  • thank fk, you still are here Ian, the dross thats out there, Brownie still the man .. class .. at its best

  • When you're fifteen the Roses are everything. Changed my life forever.

  • Is this interview taking place in Ian's wizard hut?

  • R.I.P Tony Wilson legend

  • @captaincomputa

    Damn right!

  • He's so nice becuase he's getting asked intelligent questions, by a talented interviewer , unlike that twat steve jones. Tony and Ian, true MADchester legends.

  • Did he just blame John Squire for the fact that he ruined every Stone Roses performance ever with his piss poor voice? What a twat.

  • It pisses me off that I got only a small amount of what the Roses had to give because of the greed of the record companies and the Rose's manager...proper rubbish

  • I MY OPINION (thats important..dont judge me..this is my opinion) IAN BROWN AND THE STONE ROSES WERE FAR FAR BETTER THAN LIAM AND OASIS..I THINK IT WAS BECAUSE THE ROSES HAD A MUCH BETTER RYTHMIC SOUND THAN OASIS....OASIS WERE AND STILL ARE TO COMMERCIAL FOR ME...THE "INDIE" ERA WAS JUST BRILLIANT...MADCHESTER AND ALL THAT...ALONG WITH THE MONDAYS, THE CARPETS, JAMES, AND OTHERS...GOOD TIMES FOR ME..THEN THE RAVES GOT A HOLD OF ME ALONG WITH E'S...OH WELL..YOU LIVE AND LEARN..

  • @avbilly yeah got that in one.. they were great times.. gigs, everynight...the best.. nothing beats the Roses.. Noel is a class guy.. but even hed admit that,

  • first time ive watched him on telly being cool, natural and likeable - he seems like a fuckin dick fuck wank idiot everytime ive seen him the last 9 years, i think the media make him act like a fud because it makes gud telly

  • he looks so young here

  • @usronejm I was thinking the same thing. How old is he here 37 or 38?

  • tony wilson himself is a legend!... same goes with ian.

  • Worts top bloke

  • i could listen to him, all the time, hes a quality guy is Brownie.. cant wait to see him in June..

  • happy as larry, all doin diff drugs

  • Great Interview

    Tony Wilson

    R.I.P.

    DONOLAD

    Have u ever heard about

    RECONCILIATION

    look it up

  • Whats with the buck skull inside the bowl in the background there? Is Ian Brown a metaphysicist?

  • how come there talking anyway factory records used to everything they could to stop the stone roses and the stone roses hated the whole of the manchester scene especially the factory bands. when was the switchover point

  • 4:50 when Wilson asks that question about OSM i've never heard him sound so Northern!

I love them both.. quality interview

  • He seems like a nice lad when he's not off his face.

  • 1q6z - thanks, grateful for that.

I'm seeing Ian play in Brixton in december, it will be my first time seeing him so looking forward to it. Hope he rocks !

  • 5:10 you can see he wants to piss his sides

  • what a fucking legend. Liam might have sung better in 94, but he lost his voice and Ian just kept on being the better singer/person. 20 years later. he is the man.

  • @Coldacre

ian isn't a great singer, but his vocals fit the roses. no other voice does. its onimous hushed vocal style.

  • @kingshahine I beg to differ. Ian Brown is an awesome singer.

  • @Coldacre Why to compare.. I like both of em

  • Ahh his accent...

  • both these guys are legends. reppin manc laddd

  • He can't sing live that's true, but the sweetest studio voice

  • what's the question tony asks him at 4:37 ? I can't make it out . How did you feel about doing what ?

  • how did you feel about doing "the other side of midnight "

we were made up to do the other side......

(we were happy as larry )

  • Ian Brown is a bloody legend- perhaps the most important and interesting man in British music nowadays. He may sound like he is singing into a bucket but nobody can touch his attitude. You have to listen to his music.

  • His cool .. Does he eyes look a bit cracky ??

  • Two legends together , tony and ian.

  • Jesus is he 38 here? He looks about 19!

  • He's older than that now pal... still a legend like...

  • Ian Brown has never looked 19- not even in 1989 !!! What are you on man ? His haggard cheeks, long face make him appear older. Now (2009) he looks increasingly neanderthal.

  • i thought that theres a big change between 2000-2005

  • zoso11 - spot on. Unfortunatey this will happen to Noel and Liam Gallagher and the UK will lose another great band due to petty fueds - The Beatles, The Stone Roses, Oasis...

  • That's human nature for you

  • Bloody hell he was very young looking there for 38!

  • you can tell at 5mins hes genuinely upset the way things turned out, telling me ian and john really detest each other, think not, same as any big fall out between mates, both too stubborn, both dont wanna show the weaker hand. Both behind close doors miss each other. fact!

  • he looked fucking better there than he did in 96.

    love ya brown pure ledge

    r.i.p the roses x

  • 2 legends...

  • Two of Manchester's finest men. Although it's ironic because Tony used to hate the Stone Roses because all his ex-partners were involved with them. RIP Tony and long live King Monkey.

  • here here

  • its nice to see ian brown acting genuine. i've seen a few videos where he's just a dick

  • fuck all wrong with i browns voice, the mans amazin live ,

  • Ian Brown is a fuckin' legend. The Stone Roses inspired some great names in music and continue to inspire. His solo stuff is mint as well, he's a top lyricist.

Ian Brown; The pride of Manchester.

  • Ian Brown is the coolest man on the planet. Seriously, nobody comes close.

  • Is that the flower show rail way arches.

  • RAILWAY arches, is that the FLOWER PARTY ARCHES....

  • What would Manchester's legacy be without these two guys...saw footage of the railway arches getting knocked down...fuckin' sad...LONG LIVE THE LEGENDS OF MANCHESTER!!!

  • KING MONKEY....TOTAL RESPECT....

  • sound geezer

  • There is no Midlands, Just north and south and only the North Matters.

  • why the northern thing again. He's from Manchester I think. Thats the midlands from Bath (Me) Carlisle is the north. Somebody tell him.

  • his voice tp /the seahorses singer was technically good but no soul or ..ahg..impact.boring .

  • what a guy! i saw him in the street in manchester and he said "alright" to us!

  • He's beautiful.

  • i cant understand manchester accent

  • cheers for this!
