What Operating System Are you Using, How the heck did you do it I have been trying to develop simple software for the kinnect and they all have fail, havn't found good information, and what sdk are you using?!!! Dude you are a genius!!!
You should build him a mini Segway and then all you would have to do is lean to move him around. =) Also, are the white dots on the treadmill aiding in the motion tracking?
@stichter28 Actually, since the kinect is just looking at my torso position to move the robot forward, if I subtract the treadmill from the equation then leaning forward would cause the robot to move forward, but that feels unnatural to the operator so I added the treadmill.
The white dots are so the people watching the video know the treadmill is moving.
I get a kinect yesterday actually, I'm really intereseted in teleoperation in Robotics. Your videos are really awesome! I'm going to start working in this so.. do you have an advice for me ? a book ? or a site I can see ? It could be great for me.
Continue with this improvements you are doing it awesomely right!
@TheAmazel Perhaps it is a bit too complicated. But when I show the full virtual reality demonstration it will make more sense. Also, I picture this system to be used for large humanoids in the future to help operate them in remote locations where a human can't go.

@fokloiisx You can download the code from the veltrop-ros-pkg repository on sourceforge.

I like the treadmill hack too.
But isn't it a bit complicated, just to make the NAO's displace himself ?

i watch you for the kinect stuff, and then coincidentally find you talking about one of my biggest passions: omnidirectional treadmills!
:D

@roidroid I sure would love to have access to an omnidirectional treadmill... ;)
