  • @lionanwar1979 most of this stuff has been proven but just because you dont believe it doesnt mean you have to rant about. :-)

  • @skyguy1968 We'll make sure "true beleivers" dont get to escape on our spaceships, then the sun will roast them when it finally gives out!

  • Wat da Fuk is he talking about. With every creation there is a creator. Hence wise there is a god, he's da most merciful, forgives, da one, glorious and unique. Just as god created Adam from no mother nd father hence wise Mary was a virgin wen she gave birth to Jesus. Dats y Jesus is not god if he was then y was Adam god whom had no father and mother. Yes I believe in da big bang it's written in da Quran with other facts which science has took from this incredible and unique book. V live in 201

  • He's 42!

  • @Charmedlassie18 He sure don't look it, take off a good 10 years lol.

  • Great video, what was the deal with the spray paint though?

  • @chessonmyshirt He was using the spray paint to mark each layer of the building to represent each layer of a stars core. He started with the outermost layer which was made up of Hydrogen and kept going through each shell (each floor of the building towards the bottom) in order until he reached the inner most layer (the bottom floor) where iron is made. After that all that was left was for the star (prison building) to implode.

  • I liked how he was holding up a gold ring in this episode and said how gold is "precious" to us and "forged in the depths of a distant star". Replace "distant star" with Orodruin or Mount Doom and he has a description of the One Ring. Nice little gesture to Tolkien. :P

  • It's pretty hard to take this asshole seriously when he's got that stupid fucking smirk on his face all the fucking time...

  • @skwuballo What are you watching? Justin Bieber? Cause i'm pretty sure this is Professor. Brian Cox who makes YOU look like a STUPID FUCKING asshole (:

  • @skwuballo It's a smile. Because he loves what he does. If I could do that, i'd be giddy with excitment, you miserable cunt.

  • Betelgeuse Betelgeuse Betelgeuse!!

  • Best science series ever made.

I love the way this guy explains complicated things in such simple way.

  • What if there is another 1000 unexplored elements of the cosmos?.

  • theres something soothing about this guy, even as he speaks of the end of all things lol

  • such an amazing episode!

  • Anyone know what the song at the beginning is? It's so epic!

  • Same lol

  • @TheOddlog loool

  • I watch this to go to sleep

Brian has such a hypnotizing voice

    ^_^

  • Bruno construções?

  • At the end he tells us, "You know, it's quite a thought that something as precious to us as the gold in a wedding ring was actually forged in the death of a distant star millions of light years away, billions of years ago."

Yes it is indeed. Sure makes that wedding ring seem even more special than it already is.

  • It's a shame they didn't show the rest of this segment. Because after this he goes on to tell us how this kind of star implosion only produces 26 common elements. The other elements, the "rare" heavy elements like copper, zinc, platinum, silver, uranium, tin, lead and the element that he goes into most detail about, gold, are all formed in a different kind of dying star. the far more rare Super Nova. The most powerful explosion in the Universe.

  • Aragh Brian Cox is so hot. Am I the only one who thinks so?? haha

  • @izinomics God no, there's a legion of us

  • We shouldn't worship gods, if anything, we should worship things that genuinely provide for us before we can understand God. Things like the planet, the moon, our Sun, our Galaxy.

  • 4:15 aluminium? :P i think he means aluminum. he's so cute lol

  • i love how he puts the symbols of elements in a prison to teach us a lesson

  • @HealthyCabbie This is science.... I heard the same thing by others as well

  • @HealthyCabbie Professor Cox is a particle physicist, a Royal Society University Research Fellow and professor at the University of Manchester. There is no way he is going to risk his standing and his livelihood in the scientific community based simply on "guess work".

  • @scifi75 : He sounds very convincing but even he of pressed for an answer would say he was speculating.

many good reliable scientists in the past have been made to look foolish.

  • @HealthyCabbie It isn't speculation, the basic principle is being used right now to create fusion power, creating conditions so hot and pressurized that it fuses hydrogen atoms together.

  • @AudioGraphics: Ok, thanks for that..

  • What's the song at the start called??

  • @MrGrrr21 I believe its Wonders of the Universe by Sheridan Tounge

you can download them from here

    demonoid.me/files/details/2593993/002888128887/

  • @revannevar sorry... try

searching "Wonders of the Universe soundtrack" on the site (you dont need an account to download

  • If Entropy always increases then how can life exist? Surely entropy is a human idea/measurement.. Our idea of order. Comparing order & chaos is just a human invention.

OK, the wind may never create a sand castle from a sand pile but billions of years create life from what was once just radiation or pure energy. Has life a higher entropy than radiation?

  • @Dearolor Only the overall entropy needs to be increased. Since the sun is constantly increasing its entropy, the second law of thermodynamics still holds. And it's because increase in entropy caused by the sun that life is able to exist on Earth in the first place.

  • @dreadscythe92

the one thing i dont get is how does science explain somthing coming from nothing in the first place when nothing had higher entropy.

i believe in the big bounce theory but he seems to be saying that it all just happens once.

i saw another scientist saying it can change again if something outside of the thing with really high entropy interfears with it like a person can make a low entropy sand castle out of a high entropy pile of sand thus braking the rule.

  • I am sad because this is not the best bit of this episode, I think it's majestically increadable the sheer vastness of the stars sizes.

  • Expensive!

  • writing element symbols on an old prison wall = geekiest and sexiest graftii ever.

  • That is some seriously cool graffiti.

  • Not only is the Videography just beautiful, the information is brought forward so beautifully!!! Great Work!!!

  • 5:54 Cool guys don't look at explosions

They blow things up and then walk away

Who's got time to watch an explosion?

Because cool guys have errands that they have to walk to..

    Keep walkin', keep shinin'

Don't look back keep on walkin'

    Keep struttin' slow motion

The more you ignore it, the cooler you look

  • @mmmmmwwwwwjjjjj Keyboard Solo!! Brian Cox!!...

  • @mmmmmwwwwwjjjjj I thought exactly the same xDDDDDDDDD

  • @mmmmmwwwwwjjjjj dude, that is brilliant! and couldnt be more correct

  • @mmmmmwwwwwjjjjj - nicely put...

  • Epic
