  • that's shoking for us Firefighters!!

  • "County, show Truck 1 responding with 4" "Truck 1 respond with 4, 1321" seconds later... "County, Truck 1" "Go ahead Truck 1" "We're on scene" "On scene, 1322"

  • thank god it was just a truck that burn and not the whole station

  • would have been cheaper to buy a smoke machine rather than light up one of your own rigs although I really can't say much, one of our past members lit our station on fire back in the early 80's during the night and burnt the meeting room and back half of the roof off before they got there and got the trucks out

  • would have been cheaper to buy a smoke machine rather than light up one of your own rigs

  • gives new meaning to the phrase,..In House Training

  • @john6218att agreed

  • I just put out a fire lol

  • I imagine they were able to respond to this call in record time.

  • That baby was rollin, thats for sure. It got goin pretty good for it to get up in the ceiling like that...

  • what caught fire and how did it start

  • was the fire station a total lost

  • My dept. lost an ambulance to a fire. It was parked next to the firetrucks and i had to run past the burning ambulance to get to my fire gear.

  • Too many calls for that truck. Must have been burning up the road.

  • We just had station 6 dundalk in baltimore county burn up and the cause of the fire was a medic unit same style an older international! The crew woke up in the middle of the night to the smoke alarms going off to come out to the engine bay and see the bay and the roof fully involved

  • I can speak from experience that an ambulance (in our case) can catch on fire hours - HOURS after it has been shut down. We had a 2004 braun van chasis with a box. Crew got off of work at 2200hrs. shut the truck off. At about 4am an oncoming crew member pulled into the parking lot and noticed copious amts of smoke coming from the cab of the truck. There was a short in the fuse box for the mod.... total loss.

  • Wow, that sucks. I hope it didn't do alot of damage. I'm glad to see they were able to get the trucks out.

  • @Rhalley1864 I was just BS'ing. Never trust a shop teacher missing his fingers, and be wary of the fire department that burns its own house down.

  • I was really scared when I heard about this because Roy Perez is my uncle and when I heard he was the only one to be admitted for smoke inhalation I got really worried....I saw him in the video around 3:21 he was coming out of the building and I could see him struggling then :( I have not heard from him or his family lately but I believe everything is ok

  • There's a better way to get new equipment than to start your building on fire to claim insurance.

  • travelguy I'll dismiss your comment to ignorance since you have no idea what happened. I'm pretty sure you"re just a teenager trying to sound cool around his girlfriend.

  • You go ahead and do that; whatever helps you sleep at night. I wouldn't want to hurt your feelings.

  • travelguy, I see you must of put a lot of thought into that intelligent response as well. I can tell I'm dealing with a far more intelligent being than I could ever hope to be. So tell me since you seem to know so much, just how did that fire start at Defiance? (I won't be able to sleep until you enlighten me so please hurry with a response!)

  • Well, I guess you are somewhat mentally challenged. Since you yourself noticed and stated that I am a more intelligent being than you. You are being presumptuous in that I ever suggested to know the cause of the fire. Simply because I stated something you assume from my comment that I imply knowledge of cause. And you are also wrong in your idea that I put a lot of thought into what you perceive to be an intelligent response. It was a quick bullshit statement.

  • I just figured if you were going to make a statement of "never trust a shop teacher missing his fingers and be wary of the fire dept that burns its own house down" you might actually have some knowledge of how it happened. So what about their equipment, did they need new stuff or were you just BSing about that also? Tell me, can I trust an electrician that has ever been electrocuted or a builder that struck his thumb with a hammer? Do you live near Defiance? The short bus is here, gotta go!

  • Rhalley1864 where are you from? Obviously not close enough to Defiance to know that they are a manned department 24 hours a day. Have you ever been on a vehicle fire? How about a vehicle fire caused by a malfunction in the electrical system of a vehicle inside your dept? Can tell you from experience vehicles burn very quickly especially when it is a squad that carries oxygen. People are not always in the appartus bay where the vehicle was. Please don't comment on things you have no idea about.

  • Rhalley, seriously, where are you from and where are you getting your info from? Defiance is a professional union dept. At the LEAST (by contract) they have 4 staff usually 5 or 6 on duty AT ALL TIMES so they are FULLY manned. As for mentioning the squad, you replied to ho2cultcha's comment why it took so long to get there so I clarified for both of you what happened. By the way, yes Defiance has volunteers but NONE were involved in this incident. Go ahead, ask me how I know....

  • Rhalley you do not have to be ashamed of what dept. you volunteer for. The fact of the matter is your information was completely wrong so I don't know where you got it or from who. Yes our volunteers did show up to help but the fire was already extinguished.

  • I wonder if they called 911?

  • yeah i bet the cops did lol

  • I bet the cops gave them all sorts of shit for this.

  • Now that's just plain WRONG! But I hope they at least had one hell of a fast response time? :o)

  • Well at least they were close!

  • Holy Moly, what's next, a robbery at the police station ? lol
