Question to Christian Capitalists and Supporters of Capitalism

Advertising certainly doesnt make you want to buy stuff less! Half of advertising is just explaining why you need to buy it. You ever seen a cigarette commercial? (oh wait, those were banned due to their effect on youth smoking)

Yes, The love of money, GREED, is the root of all evil. Capitalism may be evil, however the corporatism that is strangling the life of 99% of the world isn't even capitalism. It is the control of resources, subjugation of the population, through force and deception. Politicians are manipulated and peoples lives ruined for maximum profit and power. This system is Evil. It can only be overcome when we come together and refuse to participate.

Having money, in the capitalist way is not "being gifted." especially in this case. there is no luck involved. you purposely exploit people to gain a profit, simply because you have made a profit in the past. and you think people desire these products without the systems use of Advertising? what a waste of money. we could use that money for actually doing something to this world besides raping it.

@TheronHoward To have earned money through exchange of your goods or services is a reward and a blessing God merits to you, because you are commanded to work. Fraud, deceit and theft are not luck. They are sins and will spell misery for those deviants, if not immediately, then down the line. God's not afraid to punish Christians when we do wrong. Theron, there are many people who claim to be Christians and act in ways that make Jesus sick.  They are called hypocrites. If the shoe fits, man.

@TheronHoward I recall a comment about advertising creating demand. Not necessarily. Plenty of failed advertising. There has to be some demand, or interest from consumers.

@TheronHoward That is true, but in the end, the product has to meet expectations of value and usefulness, pleasure, etc or it will fail. Advertising goes just so far. You can fool folks once, but not repeatedly.

@TheronHoward I think your initial point was that advertising is what makes people buy everything. Certainly advertising is useful, or it wouldnt exist. But advertising doesnt get bad products from bad companys very far.

Just to throw out another question to our christian friends, we all use electricity, and use products, and services that require people to not obey one of the commandments, to keep the sabbath holy, so if your lifestyle forces someone to break the rules set forth by god your breaking it yourself in a way, right?

well wait a minute, if we labor our life away, do we really have the time to spend on the little things, as compared to what could be? if we didnt have to spend ALL our time working, couldnt we spend more of our time.. i dont know. Inventing stuff, raising our kids, painting a picture, writing a book.. etc etc?
