I love how he describes country music as "storytelling". That is so true. When people complain about Taylor Swift not being "country enough", I always say that it's not about the twang of her voice or the steel guitars, it's about connecting with the audience through mutual experiences, down-to-earth situations (first dates, friendships, family events, tragedies, etc).
