@billmaa I know you didn't, that's why you guys felt alone on the trip and that's why you guys talked so much between stops. I was simply saying that I plan on having a comm system built into my helm to avoid that situation. It was a good point you made and helped me with the decision.
I cant tell you how much im enjoying this, i thought i'd already seen all the good motovlog trip series on youtube, its so nice to have something long and new to watch :-) Thanks for making these amazing videos, i just wish i was out there for the ride. One day..
Now, I know what it is I like about you & the videos. I am former Army, 'Nam Vet, disable & and slept in the trenches with the rain and the wildlife. On the road my camping is the Best Westerns, Holiday Inns, etc. Screw the roughing it BS! Great Videos buddy!
I'm honored to be on the same youtube page with you my friend...My dad was in Vietnam as well, He was in the Air Force though. But I'm with you on wanting to get a good nights rest after a long days ride..
That reminds me, I remember you mentioning in your earlier vids that you had Chatterboxes. How did those work out? I think you only mentioned them briefly in one video and said they worked like crap on the highway.
Me and a buddy were thinking about trying them out but wasn't sure if they were worth the money. It would be nice to be able to communicate while riding.
That was 2003, and as we all know technology marches on. The ones we had then were the top of the line HJC models. We removed them from our helmets on the 3rd day. And I quickly tossed mine as soon as I got home. I wrote a lil blurb on my website under "Operation clam chowder" in the Rides section..They may make them better these days, but they sucked by then..
Love your adventures; thanks for posting bud

I plan on investing in a blue tooth head set helmet with a walkietalkie system built in. That loaner thing will never exist in my ride.

@NinjaOnANinja I'm not sure what you're talking about, I didn't have a comm system in my helmet during this ride

How often do you think you stop during a typical 500 mile day? Just wondering, I usually stop every hundred miles just to stretch for a bit.

If you call the Air Force "roughing it"... jesus, I think I deserve a fucking bronze star for all the roughing it I've done.
