Filipino foods are so disappointing. It seem like pork is the only meat they eat. I was at a Filipino party and pork was the only foods, on top of that she didnt even bring enough.

I was once invited to my mother's co-worker's house for a traditional Filipino dinner. It was great :) Filipino spices and ingredients remind me of my own Jamaican culture's cooking

As an american who met my wife while in high school and spent much of 16 years eating and being with her filipino family.I can honestly say that filipino food is something that americans could really enjoy. There are many times when I'm reminded of my fathers (german) stews with things like caldereta. Personally I would think that you wouldn't need much change to a filipino restaurant for americans to enjoy it.I can imagine really enjoying the food in a white cloth environment just fine as is.
the thing with filo food though is it has already got alot of American influence already from when they come ova in the war.mainly the problem i have with Americanization is people get stuck in a trend and Many foods and traditions become forgotten or misinterpreted as being the norm.
As a Fil-Am who's in the culinary industry I find myself in the middle of this debate. I think it's important to promote both- though from studying food and trends it does seem like people go for the "American-ized" versions of a cuisine first, before searching out the Traditional side ( ex: sushi- people ease their way into nigiri sushi and sashimi by trying out calironia rolls first )

As an american who met my wife while in high school and spent much of 16 years eating and being with her filipino family.I can honestly say that filipino food is something that americans could really enjoy. There are many times when I'm reminded of my fathers (german) stews with things like caldereta. Personally I would think that you wouldn't need much change to a filipino restaurant for americans to enjoy it.I can imagine really enjoying the food in a white cloth environment just fine as is.

the thing with filo food though is it has already got alot of American influence already from when they come ova in the war.mainly the problem i have with Americanization is people get stuck in a trend and Many foods and traditions become forgotten or misinterpreted as being the norm.

As a Fil-Am who's in the culinary industry I find myself in the middle of this debate. I think it's important to promote both- though from studying food and trends it does seem like people go for the "American-ized" versions of a cuisine first, before searching out the Traditional side ( ex: sushi- people ease their way into nigiri sushi and sashimi by trying out calironia rolls first )

I understand the sushi reference.But as a person who Had to Research for AGES to understand something a simple as sushi I must say something.Every time i thought I had it down i would get confused with the all misinterpreted information being thrown at me. Like the old one "sushi means raw fish" But it doesnt. Sushi Is NOT confided to rolls and japanese do NOT solely live of sushi rolls.Strange that i should think all these stupids things right? NO these are what was being told & taught to me

tell me did u just eat the longanisa or did you have something with it? and as for that comment about our food being greasy and no wonder we have so many of us have heart problems. why don't you take into account the fact that the average life expectancy is around 100 years old while you yanks life expectanies is around 60. so complain about our food being greasy all you want but when your body is buried and feeding the worms at 65 i'll still be livin it up and getting laid

100 years old?? Those are the Filipino freaks of nature with mutated strong genes. 100 years from eating pork adobo, diniguan and all these other double chin causing dishes. Im Filipino American myself, you cunt. Im not knocking my culture, but as an EMT in the medical field, I stay away from the traditional filipino food. Sure it may taste good, but its so bad.
