@Oli92Technik I have another motor room vid coming soon... the hotel that I was in left the lift motor room door unlocked (this was in Milan). Editing now, probably post in the week sometime (It's a good one!)
@mrmattandmrchay okay thats pretty cool! Yeah i wanted to see it =D unbelievable that the door is unlocked, thats a little bit dangerous heheh, but thanks for the quick answer
I used to work in the store whilst still at school in the evenings which was about 1985 ish , They were a bit of a death trap then . Always remember my mate donuting his BMW in the car park on top summer of 1991 and smashing into one of the walls !! Classic.
@Cazkumali Hi. Probably never. This building has been there since the late 70s and is the eyesore in the middle of a new shopping centre. If you go into the store and look at the ceiling, every ceiling tile is sagging and the whole shop needs a refurb. The thing is, the future of this store may be is uncertain, so they will not spend any money on it. Just my guess! I love the store though!! Matt
in newcastle metro stations there all over, i got stuck in one it was so small you could hardly fit three skinny people inside it, and it said 17 people could get inside it.
when the engineer eventually arrived after 8 hours waiting time he told me what was wrong the problem was "paper got stuck inside the door" , even though there was none there. talk about crap service. the alarm dosent even work, so i had to ring thier head office to get someone to rescue me.
Yeah, I got stuck in a hydraulic lift once. This woman come out shaking and said "you don't want to go in there, I just got stuck in it", so of course I had to try it - it couldn't level on the Ground floor and stopped. Alarm button didn't work, but after 1 minute it ascended to 1st floor and doors opened. I spoke to security and they said "yeah, that alarm button hasn't been working for ages" (how about getting it fixed then!!)
a shopping centre near where i live had O&K lifts and escalators. they first added a new button panel but the lifts constantly broke down so were modernised by kone and i havent been in them since!
The stair case is completely enclosed (a concrete stairwell) but there is a door that leads out to each level. I think you can just see it on the left at 0:12, oh maybe not, but that's where the stairwell door is. On the first floor, the stairwell door is directly on the left of the lifts
Went in these lifts just before christmas. Loved the half arsed mod job they'd done on one of the lifts. That Tesco's really sticks out with the new mall built all around it. The store really does need a referb, it has a lot of floor space that's under utilised, especially upstairs.
There at Rotherham General Hospital. I`m going to try & film them sometime this week or maybe next week, but i`d better be quick because they`re going to be replaced very soon despite working without any major faults since 1978
yeah yeah yeah, film them if you can. I have been looking for some Hammound and Champness models for ages.
Are they the ones with the big triangular arrows (light up white) at either end of the floor display, whilst the floor indicators are kind of a 'cube' that light up yellow?
The call buttons used to be square that didn't go in much, but were quite bright when lit. Would be great if you post these before they are gone! Thanks, Matt
that lift on the left im sure that it is the same as the one on the saint marks place multi storey car park in my town. Ive been stuck in it b4 and have been up2 the motor room.
Wow great stuff could you make a vid of that other lift that moter sounds great and i nether new that oak made lift i thoult they only made escolaters great vid
Next time I am in town I will video it, but the only difference is the left lift has a lower down COP (car operating panel) for disabled people to use, other than that it is the same. Actually, I videoed it on this trip, but when I went to edit the movie I found there was nothing on the phone! (didn't record it!)
I will try and get that picture through the machine room door, although this will be a little bit dodgy - I will try and wait until the car park isn't busy to do it.
one of them has been replaced now

@hannahcross24 Yep. probably both have by now. Wonder if they will get a new padlock for the motor room hatch?

Your English is perfect. There are not many O&K lifts here, the only ones that I have seen are in Tesco stores.
(someone else said what you said - O&K escalators, but not lifts)

Do the stairs in this car park go directly into the shop?

mrmattandmrchay 3 years ago
ok let us know when u vid it, and do u want me 2 vid the elevators in my town?
elevatorhacker 3 years ago
ok.
"I" am only interested in older stuff, lets say when light bulbs were still lighting up the floor indicator panel, before LEDs.
New motor-room less lifts, anything after 1995, well, I'm not particularly interested, but that's not to say that other people won't want to see it.
mrmattandmrchay 3 years ago
or unusual stuff I am interested in

Do you know what the capacity is for this lift? It must have to be quite big to fit trolleys in it.

A bit too slow for a low-rise AC/2 traction.

By the way, "O&K" means 'Orenstein & Koppel' of course! Look them up on wikipedia.

I'm not going to be able to get in there as it's locked (but there is a reasonable gap to take a photo through)
