@KJV1611ASV1901 I actually got a reply one time from his Facebook people one time. They said he would never consider running for office, especially POTUS. But any president who would nominate him for Treasury Secretary would be a wise person.
Both JY and DR express extreme positions that mis-categorizes a charitable donation. A deduction gives someone who pays high taxes the freedom to directly choose how those dollars will be spent rather than allowing the government to choose. Technically, since it's money out of the taxpayer's pocket already, it's no longer "my money", as DR states. Agree or disagree it is a designed compromise on who chooses what is best for the USA.
You know in many modern countries you do not get a Tax break for donating to charity. I wonder how much people in America would give to their Churches and to their favorite charities if they didn't get a tax break? Aren't you supposed to give to others out of a sense of goodwill and charity and not so you can personally benefit by paying less taxes?
Dave Ramsey is like the smartest man I know. KEEP AMERICA CAPITALIST! He doesn't like gold because it has fixed interest rate about 4% for the the last 50 years, and if the market crashes. We are not going to be wanting gold. You will want food, and shelter. We become a market economy. THINK MAN! THINK!
He advocates financial responiblity yet the US governement
the most irresponibile. Yet are dollars are back my the government why the f-ck would I want a currency that the government prints and spends money that they take in (tax revenues). If he advocated gold he wouldn't have any books to sell or anything to talk about on his show. He has a motive not to like gold because he wouldn't have anything to sell.
Dave's logic is...poor. You can't "give" away money if you expect something in return. He's buying tickets and writing it off against his income. Not logical.
@juhsepi So pls ignore the Fox part of my reply, and concentrate on the 'I am disgusted because this journalist lied' angle. I've no idea whether he did or not, but I'm sure that Dave's buddy Beck does for a living. It was squaring those 2 points I was struggling with (you can't lie, but my friend can say what he likes). (Don't get me started on 'socialism = root of all evil', it's really not. Some feel that about unbridled capitalism!)
Hang on, this is polite debate. Shouldn't we be flaming?
The only thing that bothered my about what Dave said is that he is an "athletic supporter"..lol. Other than that he is dead on. Socialists think you do not have a right to your money. They do. In that case Mr. Yang, I'll be looking for your check in the mail.
I love Dave Ramsey and can't quite believe I'm about to diss him, but to my mind this is just hypocritical. He transmits on the Fox network and is friends (his words) with Glenn Beck. And of course neither of those esteemed institutions has ever lied.
@matwade76 I think you missed the point. He's not putting the reporter down because He works for NBC. Furthermore, He only mentioned it as a point of reference, nothing more.
Radio in America is terrible just like the poison food that we eat.
Go organic. Do not feed into any of these people in the media. They are GARBAGE.
They need you more than you need them. They want you to buy their crap and listen to their rants.
Do you want to know how to fix America? Eat healthy, stop listening to radio crap or tv, exercise and lastly, do not expect anyone, including the MEDIA, to fix your problems.
These people are WORSE than the government. They make suckers believe in them
@FDIGUY828 The government will always be more dangerous than radio hosts. radio hosts have no power over us except what we give them. The government has significant power over us, and that power is expanding. It's true that we cannot expect the media to solve all our problems. However, we shouldn't expect that from the government either.
@xxxxfile I think you meant "hillbilly" and not "hillybilly". In any case, that "hillbilly" has more money than you'll ever have and is more successful than you'll ever be. Look at you, trolling around on message boards while he is talking to millions through his radio and tv shows.
@EdwardJellico dont presume to know me.you dont know anything about me.but you revealed a tremenous lot about yourself.your dirt poor, unemployed, very unhappy, mentaly disturbed. and gay.dave dont need you to defend him.i ment my comment as a compliment.you have a rotten nasty mind,i have money to burn.
@clockempopem, well your claim of ignorance is supported by your grammar and spelling errors so I guess you are forgiven. You make a few suppositions that are completely incorrect. All people do actually have the ability to fend for themselves and those who keep telling them differently are enslaving them. No one is making money off of "selling" conservatism, in fact financial conservatism is and Capitalism are the only freeing things in society.
a conservitive mind is ignorant to humanity cuz not all have the ability to
fend for them selves at any given time
its the same thing as caring for a baby deer that lost its mother so it will live
u have to teach your child to read not the other way around . every one is different
so these arguments are pointless but to make money off of selling cconservitism and hate on demacrats and librals for looking at the big picture shiit maybe i am ignorant lol
Love Dave Ramsey!! Wish more folks would just tell it like it is instead of worrying about hurting someone's feelings. When did America become a bunch of wimps!!!
I thought he was a Christian but he is abusing and expressing extreme anger at someone for having a different opinion from him about taxes. Didn't Jesus say saying "Racah!" ("idiot") to your neighbour deserves hell? And, he always seemed to play down ridiculous arguments about taxes. Why do Christians attack the person rather than the argument... its cult like behaviour, in my opinion which is sad as DR is a financial genius and I love Jesus.
@rush7777me7777 No he didn't. Anyone who says Raca to their brother is answerable to the Sanhedrin. Mathew 5:22. You are doing exactly what you are accusing all Christians of, the only difference is you don't have your facts straight. And he did address the argument, and you attacked all Christians with your unfactual statement.
@Paladin1warrior If the shirt fits, wear it. Constructive criticism needs to be accepted with humility, mate, not beligerently and like the rebel who won't take a rebuke. Thisw is different from angry, abusive outbursts. Answerable to the sanhedrin... I knew someone would find a loophole. Jesus says such angry outbursts are wrong. He attacked the person, you can pretend you didn't hear that it you want.
@rush7777me7777 I don't know what your talking about. Honestly, Jesus got pretty riled up when he saw what the priests were running a market on the Temple grounds. Anger is appropriate for some situations. Loophole?
@rush7777me7777 My point was that being a Christian does't mean putting a stupid oblivous look on your face and letting everything go down the crapper. The things you care about are worth gettting angry about. You need to get your facts straight before correcting people.
@Paladin1warrior Facts straight? I commented on that which is evident for all to see. You corrected me, remember. Ad hominem attackds is what I am discussing here. Your argument that one shouldn't 'get a stupid oblivous look on your face' is irrelevant and has no bearing on what I am saying. Christianity needs to stop making exceptions for itself.
@rush7777me7777 of COURSE Jesus should get angry at people who exploit God for money..this is hardly a comparable situation. We Christians need to be EXAMPLES!! Not worldy, attacking people who exercise free speech about a subject such as taxes, a right which our fore-fathers fought and died to preserve. You corrected me, remember. Ad hominem attackds is what I am discussing here.
@rush7777me7777 Oh wait i forgot that Christians were perfect and never make mistakes. Sounds like you are also attacking the person and not the behavior....questioning his Christianity because he got angry and called someone some names? Grow up. Jesus himself called the Pharisee's "Vipers"....people are allowed to get angry without having their beliefs questioned.
@PhourQ trelling someone who has a different opinion to you to 'grow up' shows that you engage in abuse and so condone it. The pharisees were evil. People with different political opinions held in good faith are not. Yes, a tree is known by its fruit. Deliberately sinning when we know we shouldn't is as Paul said taking God's grace for granted. And my words are there for everyone to see: Iw as commenting on unChristian BEHAVIOUR.
@rush7777me7777 wait..."Telling someone who has a different opion to grow up shows that you engage in ABUSE and condone it"??? What planet are you from? Read your own comments over again..and if you are still going to stand by that statement...then God help us all.
federal money is funneled to the secondary schools which is where the athletes and coaches learn to play the game. I like dave, but he's wrong on this one. Of couse it's not illegal. The govt should not be in the biz of deciding which money is taxed. The flat tax is the only fair way to go. Everyone pays the same, reguardless if they're parents or not, rent or own a home, or how they decide to spend their money.
Income is taxed to pay for govt. expenditures, debt payments, roads bridges, welfare defense etc. therefore a tax deduction or exemption on taxable income given to churches,
football teams swingers clubs or any organization or person is in fact a subsidy
by the govt. (people) those tax dollars are not available to pay other expenditures, and must come from somewhere. all taxpayers are in effect subsidizing these things .
Check out "Fleecing the Flock" article on tithes (thinkers only, no brainwashed/cult members/clergy sheeple please). Dave believes the tithing lie. He's also a dope on other things ("Dopey Dave"). The Federal Government is supposed to spend tax dollars to benefit the taxpayer directly.
Now our government gives away the people's money all over the place like Santa Clause. Dave is a total idiot though. Just an effing cocksucker. You only get tax deductions for government approved institutions. Wake up Dave, you don't live in a free country you dick!
The federal government is indirectly subsidzing colleges and churchs. The federal government can't directly write them a check but it makes it favorable for the public to do so...just like when the government makes it favorable for the public to buy homes by giving them tax deductions too.
This mean-spirited rant is idiotic and nonsensical rambling. There are so many ridiculous and paranoid statements in here. Because you disagree with a person's interpretation doesn't make it a lie. And are you really so surprised and appalled that someone on tv would lie? I don't believe you're that naive.
What's with all the name calling....what is this guy, 13 years old??? Couldn't he make a point like an adult? Oh, I forgot, he is a "conservative"...my bad. Go on.
@aclopezestrada he is a conservative, and that fool John Yang was preaching socialism. If someone owns money that they earned and doesn't have to pay taxes because they gave it away that is not subsidizing. It's like saying people have a moral imperative to pay taxes if they make "too much".
@ulysseinvest Well if you want to look at it that way then I guess the government funds everything since they print all of the money! You only fund something if you pay for it and Dave Ramsey is right and John Yang is a fricking socialist!
@jisangNY1 On a more important note you posted a comment to my profile saying you would fuck me up in person! How do you if you can fuck someone up you've never even met before? Then you blocked me from posting a comment back to your profile which shows what a pussy you are! So I figured I'd block your punk ass as well and don't think for one second that I'm scared of a dumb ass punk bitch like you!
@jisangNY1 Why are you getting so mad for? Because I exposed you as the stupid ass hole you are? You called Dave Ramsey Bill Ramsey looking stupid and called him a racist when he never said anything about race. I made you look stupid and now your getting mad. Wah Wah cry bitch. Also you probably suck dick so don't call me a dick face and you removed your comment. Look at that!
PS: Dave needs to study some Austrian material. He's on the right highway. He just tends to take the wrong exits (too often for my liking) to waste my time with his material.
Dave is wrong though - just like for private schools or private insurances, even though they are not "managed directly by the government", the sole fact that the government provides subsidies or "tax incentives" of any sort channels money into sectors where it would have gone in a "different amount" without the incentive (people will buy more cars just because the gov gives an incentive or a tax deduction - even though they wouldn't have otherwise). Crappy rant. Him & Peter Schiff. Same mistake.
@jisangNY1 What are you dumb ass #2? Colleges are stricter on grading policies with athletes than they used to be. Also if you think India and China are so much better than why don't you go live there? You like China which is a communist country so I guess your a communist as well. Also when did Dave Ramsey make a remark about race? He never did say anything about the color of Yang's skin oh and by the way his name is Dave Ramsey not Bill you moron!
@jgilles85 You're a fucking moron. "Colleges are stricter on grading policies with athletes than they used to be." Are you kidding me LOL. If that's the case then why do you have the NCAA constantly sanctioning teams for violations of academic fraud. The University of Maryland basketball team has a 8 percent graduation rate! And how am I a communist dickface. I'm a Libertarian moron.
@jmparsons3 No a sign of a small mind is someone who comes up with a bunch a crap like you did. Calling you a dumb ass isn't an insult it's an accurate statment! I understand the accounting concept of a tax write offs, but that doesn't mean they're funding college sports, it just means their not charging you to do so! If you didn't write a check the government wouldn't have donated any money to college sports would they? Answer that since your the intelligent one!
@jmparsons3 No dumb ass because the point is that the government isn't writing a check to college sports; he is. If your money grows a in Roth IRA tax free does that mean the government is funding your retirement? No all it means is they didn't charge you to fund your own retirement. Big difference!
@jgilles85 The government doesn't have to write a check to be subsidizing college sports. By making my contribution deductible, they are reducing my tax liability--tax revenue they would otherwise receive. By the same token, contributions I make to my retirement account that are deductible are being subsized by the government through tax incentives. It's simple accounting. You'd do better to learn that than to dispense insults. That's a sign of a small mind.
I have listened to Mr. Ramsey's little rant a couple of times. Toward the end, it really seemed as though he was claiming that we should not be paying any taxes at all (Bill Gates worked for all that money, he's entitled to it...). The simple fact is, that by making a donation of whatever sort, then receiving a reduction in income tax from deducting the donation, that constitutes in effect a subsidy from the government. It is almost comical, hearing Ramsey getting so worked up.
@aburocko hey man, I'm assuming ur referin to the part of my post that deals with capitalism not bein able to function without incorporating certain socialistic practices... correct?
I would understand if u had said I'd mixed socialism and corporatism but I don't follow when u say capitalism and corporatism. Capitalism from what I understand stresses private ownership. Therefore in a purely capitalist system, everything would be privately owned.
@aburocko ..always efficient (ie used cars, health care, life insurance etc) an business cant always be relied upon to be responsible (jst look at BP's oil spill) and so a certain amount of intervention will always be necissary
The US gov. is doin a terrible job at health care but jst cause theyre screwing up doesnt mean theres no need for some form of public solutions. There are other countries that have provided effective public health care
Please correct me if u feel Im off the mark on this
Um hang on a sec, if he didnt give the donation, he would've paid taxes on that 10k right? Therefore, via the donation, the gov looses tax revenue on the 10k. Is that not the same as u paying the tax and the government paying u back the same amount? That's why its a subsidy. Without ur tax $, the government needs to use somebody elses tax $ which couldve bin used to do sometin else.
I agree with darkcomic509 there is no such thing as a truely capitalist system - socialism is part of it.
@livewire891 The phrase "We the People" indicates that the government of the United States "is, emphatically and truly, a government of the people," rather than a league of the states.[
Listen bud, your confusing Capitalism with Corporatism. I'm not saying this to ridicule only to correct you. This is one of the most fundamental errors a large segment of the population continues to do. They completely misunderstand a certain political &/or religious view point and make error after error trying to disprove it. I encourage you to look deeper into Capitalism & Corporatism & understand they are night & day different.
@darkcomic509 i agree with responsibility 100%. but I also agree that a hand up is needed.Take the example of the hand up given to chris gardener ..without the ability to keep his child safe using charities.he could have never reached his success shown in the movie The Pursuit of Happyness a will smith movie..check it out.as for daves advice its basically common sense..But his recent non advice and then ridicule of the san francisco yuppie couple makes him seem very small
yea lets hear it for dave the uncaring rich boy,,man i am glad his taxes are going up.. HEY repubs the constitution is based on a socialist concept. ITS a government BY the People For the People
@tbaarr Why don't you ask Dave Ramsey how much he willingly gives of his money and time? He willing gives away huge amounts of money without being forced by any government entity. I'm a middle class American and I'm tired of supporting lazy ABLE BODIED people who believe it's their right to have their way paid by a socialistic government. Do you have any idea of what percent of the tax revenues are collected from the top 1% wage earners in this country?
@dajrunner613 and i am tired of so called capitalist repunks that have now taken our country to recession 2 time in the last 20 years . and they were bloody mirror images. 81-88 raygun lincoln savings failed in 1986 bubble burst in 88 stock market crashed oct 87 2001 -2008 babybush 2006 indymac failed feb 2007 stock market crashed because of the same dang failures as the 80's 2008 major bubble burst. BE AWARE I USED TO BE A REPUB.. till i saw thru the lies
@tbaarr and lets not forget your stinking tea party cry about the tarp being a bad deal. hey loser read history daddy bush authorized the exact same thing in feb 1989 when he ok'd FDIC to bail out all the failed savings in loans that ate ADJUSTABLE rate loans..(a new name for those loans in SUB PRIME) keep drinking your repub kool aid. I will support dems before I ever support Repub CRAPITALISM again
@dajrunner613 why dont you also ask dave ramsey why he publicly embarrassed the san francisco couple who asked his honestly for an opinion about buying a home. When he referenced them as whiney liberal yuppies.. that type of conservative pious bull is why there is such a split in this country and why christian conservatives like dave get catagorized in the same fold as rush limpbrain and ann coulter. I love doper rushies latest statement that the ocean would clean up the BP spill ..NOT
There is a HUGE movement working behind the sceenes, and not so behind the sceens, to change us to a socialist republic. They believe it is better than capitolism. Just do me one favor, name a successful socialistic republic in the world. Capitolism is the engine that has funded all the social programs that the progressives (liberals) have become addicted to.
These people fundamentally believe that all wealth developed and generated belongs first and foremost to government, because they believe government is always on our side; or, at least, on their side.
i love it when this man goes off on some idiot like this, and it freaken hurts when an asian says some stupid like that, freaken dumbass making asian look stupid
under Dave Ramsey law, credit cards would be outlawed and it will be illegal to use them. LOL, let's pledge to abandon the use of credit cards and switch to debit cards, or better yet, let's pay for things the old fashioned way, with cash! hello! do away with credit cards,. cut them up!
@ir10031981 the older fashioned way would be to pay for them with gold or silver and the actually old fashioned way is to trade other goods we produced ourselves for them. I'll agree to cut up your credit cards but the insinuation that fiat currency is a vast improvement is quite misguided. Paper money created from nothing is only one rung down on the usury ladder to hell.
Ramsey is a hypocrite, charlatan and a Christian in self appointed name only, true believers ought realize this quickly
Technically the government did not subsidize, however, the government did create an incentive for people to donate to college athletics, thus, an indirect "subsidy" has occurred. This is a tool that is used by the government, to direct your money into certain areas.
I want to make it clear that I am not supporting subsidy's of any kind; Let's get the government out of the market!

This guy has a show on Fox and he's talking about agendas? He needs to stick to money management and leave "socialist agendas" alone. If I want to hear ranting about socialists, idiots, screaming and general bullshit, I'd listen to Glenn Beck and Rush Limbaugh. You don't hear Clark Howard ranting about shit like this.
How can Dave rant about 'people with agendas' and be all gung ho for Glenn Beck? Is there no rational middle anymore. Geez these extreme partisans are so annoying.
Moderation is the key to everything and politics is no different.
John Yang's BS claim is just that but damn Dave get off your soap box about socialism.
"A lot of my tax money went to go into a Iraq" Democrats helped pass this as well, and continued to fund it when voting every 2 years since the war started.
"Ramsey favors the freedom of Corporations to rip people off and exploit them" Everyone has that freedom, as long as they don't break any laws. Don't do business with them. Boycott them. Support their competition. Stop bailing them out.
You know who rips people off and exploits people the most? Welfare and Foodstamp recipients!
Yes I agree I'm to the left of the democrats, I think the democrats many of them though not all are owned by the same corporations that completely own and run the GOP. In terms of proof of Pentagon waste, theres gobs of waste, Once again your point to me was that moderate republicans were running Congress and spending gobs, actually is was the right wing under Tom Delay who held the House Floor open all night to pass that massive Medicare Bill made the Pharma so powerful they charge us taxpayer,
There is no difference between the Dems. and Rep. party. It is only a tool to keep us divided anymore. If you are not voting for the Constitution and our Freedoms you are voting for enslavement, because that's where they are headed. None of this is by chance. This has been in the making since we became free from Englands grip. You'd better stock up on food too. There will be a man-made food shortage this year. Courtesy of the gov elite.
Lets be clear that when it comes to the Federal Government funding missle systems where a screw on it costs 300 dollars Mr. Ramsey is fine with that. Lets remember that conservatives like to spend or should i say waste money as well, only they waste money on even more worthless things. A lot of my tax money went to go into a Iraq . utter stupidity. Why is my money spend on Iraq. Mr Ramsey favors the freedom of Corporations to rip people off and exploit them. He evidently has changed his tune,
"Lets be clear that when it comes to the Federal Government funding missle systems" Under Article 1, Section 8 of the US Constitution, they have that power. You don't like it, write to your congressman. I sure do.
"Lets remember that conservatives like to spend or should i say waste money as well" No, you are thinking of Moderate Republicans. Logically, there has not been enough conservatives in congress recently to pass anything to point the finger solely at them.
No , I know I can write my Congressman and do, the fact you call yourself fiscally conservative but don't have a problem with a screw on a missle system costing 300 dollars a pop, shows your inconsistency and that your real bias is against spending on the poor. In light of moderate republicans being the ones spending, Tom Delay of Texas was not a moderate republican he pushed through that Medicare Bill not moderate republicans and Bush signed it democrats like Kerry voted against it.
George Bush, Trent Lott, Bill Frist and Tom Delay had five and half years of leadership form 2000-2006 in both houses and the Presidency, they spent gobs, on all sorts of things, THESE WERE THE RIGHT WING OF THE GOP NOT MODERATE REPUBLICANS AND LETS REMEMBER BUSH DIDN'T VETO ONE SPENDING BILL, But in terms of what the Constituion says we can spend, I would be interesting to hear what Bush spent in Iraq and all those social programs that you conservatives seem fine with
Less spending on corporate welfare, and more on working people who have had their jobs shipped overseas. Pel Grants, low interest College Loans are needed, not Medicare Bills that don't even allow government to negotiate prices and gobs of goodies for big Pharma.
"you call yourself fiscally conservative but don't have a problem with a screw on a missle system costing 300 dollars a pop" Why wouldn't I have a problem with that? Are you exaggerating, or do you have proof?
"your inconsistency and that your real bias is against spending on the poor" With all the spending over the decades on the poor, they are STILL POOR! We should be teaching them how to fish, instead of giving them fish. I see 95% of food stamp and welfare people abuse it at my work every day! If you have a child, at what point/age do you stop supporting them, and encourage them to support themselves? The 5% legitimate can be helped with out the government through donations and churches.
Well Church donations have their place , but its ultimately government that can really move numbers statistically, and some of the chronic poverty we had before the New Deal has been remedied. for example Social Security really reduced elderly poverty very significantly. Yeah the private sector has its place, but one thing that would be good is no more free trade agreements which ship jobs overseas.I would say teach someone how to fish Government needs to pay for the fishing lessons.
Train them to use computers maybe? I have a Masters degree in Information Systems and haven't worked a job in about 3 years. I was a former IBMer and they are now making profits by laying off work force.
Dave (Republican) and I (Democrat) may be of different political parties, but we both agree that the U.S. of A. thrives on capitalism, as it should be.
I'm not sure we are completely capitalistic which is good that we aren't. We are dead last in every category in Health because are health care is freemarket
Amen, I agree with Dave Ramsey, this is America, there's no place for socialism here. We frown on communism and socialism. In this country we uphold capitalism. No one is entitled to anyone else's money. We all must earn our own money. We are free to make and spend our own money as we wish.
We need more people like Dave Ramsey to set these socialist and communist morons straight.

Dave you are being a drama queen. Untaxed money is not technically a subsidy. However, there is a difference between donating to a charity and donating to sports (a for profit business) even if it is college sports. I may not always agree on how government spends my money, but this is a different issue. As any other responsible citizen, I pay taxes on my earnings. You are not better than anybody else and you should pay taxes on the money you earn through your financial circus show.

Socialism? You are so way off, I doubt you could even define the word!! I guess FIREFIGHTERS, the V.A., FREEWAYS, PARAMEDICS, AIRPORTS, SCHOOLS, The POLICE, NASA, AND THE MILITARY are all bad also eh? Mr. I know alot about 1 thing and jackshit about the rest. Because, THESE things ARE ALL SOCIALISM!! I will even go 1 further and say the best things in our society, ARE SOCIALIZED! YOU FUKTARD! wtf? Trying to associate property ownership with your dumbass scare tactic. Ha Ha, Whatta Moron.
Socialism is not the basic services provided by the government. It's a government take over of industry. An example would be the government's intent to take over healthcare. You have a government that gave us the compassion of the IRS, the efficiency of the Post Office, the effectiveness of responding to hurricane Katrina, and now people want them to take over healthcare?? Socialism never works because it kills the free market, which is vital for progress of society and prosperity.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
ok dummy .. get ready to learn the facts. Socialism is when monies are collected and spent for the good of all! I bet you didn't even realize our ROADWAYS, SEWERS, THE V.A., NASA, POLICE & FIREFIGHTERS, OUR MILITARY, SCHOOLS, UNIVERSITIES, FOREST RANGERS, NAT'L/STATE/LOCAL PARKS, MEDICARE, ETC ETC ETC!!! ARE ALL SOCIALISM! I will even go further and point ouit= "The best things we as Americans enjoy/take for granted, ARE SOCIALIZED. So stfu! and quit being afraid of a word YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND!
I think you're confusing Socialism with the basic public services that are appropriate for government. Law enforcement is an appropriate role of government. Government run Healthcare is not. That is just an example. The concept of Socialism was designed to level the inequalities that are inevitable in a progressive society. When monies are collected and spent for the good of all by the government at the expense of private industry, growth and prosperity stops. That is why Socialism fails.
Furthermore, the government's role in the military does not justify its role in other areas. There are some roles that I think are inappropriate for government, like the postal service. FedEx and UPS are more reliable than the USPS in my opinion. The fact is people didn't just sit around and look to the government for the upturn to come (like the Industrial revolution) people went out and created the upturn. Prosperity spread and standard of living rose because of the free market, not government

LOOK how these SHEEPLE gave you a thumbs down. Oh well, they can all line up to be exploited and vote against thier own BEST interests. Stupid uninformed jackasses with STOCKHOLM DISEASE!
While true, it is this kind of complacent attitude and understanding that has lead us down this road we are in. God gives and God takes away. The goverment just takes in any way it can as long as we allow it to take place. But because of our attitude and complacency, we allow this to happen. Have a great day! :)

They make suckers believe in them
FDIGUY828 11 months ago
@FDIGUY828 The government will always be more dangerous than radio hosts. radio hosts have no power over us except what we give them. The government has significant power over us, and that power is expanding. It's true that we cannot expect the media to solve all our problems. However, we shouldn't expect that from the government either.

Hehe. What he says makes absolute makes sense. Some of those people in media say some of the most ridiculous things.
sferris33 1 year ago
I thought he was a Christian but he is abusing and expressing extreme anger at someone for having a different opinion from him about taxes. Didn't Jesus say saying "Racah!" ("idiot") to your neighbour deserves hell? And, he always seemed to play down ridiculous arguments about taxes. Why do Christians attack the person rather than the argument... its cult like behaviour, in my opinion which is sad as DR is a financial genius and I love Jesus.
rush7777me7777 1 year ago
@rush7777me7777 No he didn't. Anyone who says Raca to their brother is answerable to the Sanhedrin. Mathew 5:22. You are doing exactly what you are accusing all Christians of, the only difference is you don't have your facts straight. And he did address the argument, and you attacked all Christians with your unfactual statement.
Paladin1warrior 1 year ago
@Paladin1warrior If the shirt fits, wear it. Constructive criticism needs to be accepted with humility, mate, not beligerently and like the rebel who won't take a rebuke. Thisw is different from angry, abusive outbursts. Answerable to the sanhedrin... I knew someone would find a loophole. Jesus says such angry outbursts are wrong. He attacked the person, you can pretend you didn't hear that it you want.
rush7777me7777 1 year ago
@rush7777me7777 I don't know what your talking about. Honestly, Jesus got pretty riled up when he saw what the priests were running a market on the Temple grounds. Anger is appropriate for some situations. Loophole?

@Paladin1warrior market on the Temple grounds has nothing to do with taxes. Please handle the Bible carefully and honestly.
rush7777me7777 1 year ago
@rush7777me7777 My point was that being a Christian does't mean putting a stupid oblivous look on your face and letting everything go down the crapper. The things you care about are worth gettting angry about. You need to get your facts straight before correcting people.
Paladin1warrior 1 year ago
This has been flagged as spam show
@Paladin1warrior Facts straight? I commented on that which is evident for all to see. You corrected me, remember. Ad hominem attackds is what I am discussing here. Your argument that one shouldn't 'get a stupid oblivous look on your face' is irrelevant and has no bearing on what I am saying. Christianity needs to stop making exceptions for itself.
rush7777me7777 1 year ago
@rush7777me7777 of COURSE Jesus should get angry at people who exploit God for money..this is hardly a comparable situation. We Christians need to be EXAMPLES!! Not worldy, attacking people who exercise free speech about a subject such as taxes, a right which our fore-fathers fought and died to preserve. You corrected me, remember. Ad hominem attackds is what I am discussing here.
rush7777me7777 1 year ago
@rush7777me7777 Oh wait i forgot that Christians were perfect and never make mistakes. Sounds like you are also attacking the person and not the behavior....questioning his Christianity because he got angry and called someone some names? Grow up. Jesus himself called the Pharisee's "Vipers"....people are allowed to get angry without having their beliefs questioned.
PhourQ 1 year ago
@PhourQ trelling someone who has a different opinion to you to 'grow up' shows that you engage in abuse and so condone it. The pharisees were evil. People with different political opinions held in good faith are not. Yes, a tree is known by its fruit. Deliberately sinning when we know we shouldn't is as Paul said taking God's grace for granted. And my words are there for everyone to see: Iw as commenting on unChristian BEHAVIOUR.

Income is taxed to pay for govt. expenditures, debt payments, roads bridges, welfare defense etc. therefore a tax deduction or exemption on taxable income given to churches,
football teams swingers clubs or any organization or person is in fact a subsidy
by the govt. (people) those tax dollars are not available to pay other expenditures, and must come from somewhere. all taxpayers are in effect subsidizing these things .

bridgetlear2009 1 year ago

Dave is wrong though - just like for private schools or private insurances, even though they are not "managed directly by the government", the sole fact that the government provides subsidies or "tax incentives" of any sort channels money into sectors where it would have gone in a "different amount" without the incentive (people will buy more cars just because the gov gives an incentive or a tax deduction - even though they wouldn't have otherwise). Crappy rant. Him & Peter Schiff. Same mistake.

And how am I a communist dickface. I'm a Libertarian moron.
jisangNY1 1 year ago
@jmparsons3 No a sign of a small mind is someone who comes up with a bunch a crap like you did. Calling you a dumb ass isn't an insult it's an accurate statment! I understand the accounting concept of a tax write offs, but that doesn't mean they're funding college sports, it just means their not charging you to do so! If you didn't write a check the government wouldn't have donated any money to college sports would they? Answer that since your the intelligent one!
jgilles85 1 year ago
NBC doesn't even pretend to be unbiased anymore.
Nexus974 1 year ago
@jmparsons3 No dumb ass because the point is that the government isn't writing a check to college sports; he is. If your money grows a in Roth IRA tax free does that mean the government is funding your retirement? No all it means is they didn't charge you to fund your own retirement. Big difference!
jgilles85 1 year ago
@jgilles85 The government doesn't have to write a check to be subsidizing college sports. By making my contribution deductible, they are reducing my tax liability--tax revenue they would otherwise receive. By the same token, contributions I make to my retirement account that are deductible are being subsized by the government through tax incentives. It's simple accounting. You'd do better to learn that than to dispense insults. That's a sign of a small mind.
jmparsons3 1 year ago

Also free markets aren't [cont..]

I find it ironic how the words Socialist, NBC, Moron &, Idiot all flow so well together in a sentence. WAY TO GO DAVE!! WELL SAID!
aburocko 1 year ago
Um hang on a sec, if he didnt give the donation, he would've paid taxes on that 10k right? Therefore, via the donation, the gov looses tax revenue on the 10k. Is that not the same as u paying the tax and the government paying u back the same amount? That's why its a subsidy. Without ur tax $, the government needs to use somebody elses tax $ which couldve bin used to do sometin else.

He evidently has changed his tune,
roberts11000 2 years ago
"Lets be clear that when it comes to the Federal Government funding missle systems" Under Article 1, Section 8 of the US Constitution, they have that power. You don't like it, write to your congressman. I sure do.
"Lets remember that conservatives like to spend or should i say waste money as well" No, you are thinking of Moderate Republicans. Logically, there has not been enough conservatives in congress recently to pass anything to point the finger solely at them.
itchyisvegeta 2 years ago
No , I know I can write my Congressman and do, the fact you call yourself fiscally conservative but don't have a problem with a screw on a missle system costing 300 dollars a pop, shows your inconsistency and that your real bias is against spending on the poor. In light of moderate republicans being the ones spending, Tom Delay of Texas was not a moderate republican he pushed through that Medicare Bill not moderate republicans and Bush signed it democrats like Kerry voted against it.
roberts11000 2 years ago
George Bush, Trent Lott, Bill Frist and Tom Delay had five and half years of leadership form 2000-2006 in both houses and the Presidency, they spent gobs, on all sorts of things, THESE WERE THE RIGHT WING OF THE GOP NOT MODERATE REPUBLICANS AND LETS REMEMBER BUSH DIDN'T VETO ONE SPENDING BILL, But in terms of what the Constituion says we can spend, I would be interesting to hear what Bush spent in Iraq and all those social programs that you conservatives seem fine with
roberts11000 2 years ago
So what is your solution? Having Obama spend more than the Republicans did in those years?
I am not making excuses for them. They dug their own grave, which pissed off 51%+ of the US population, and as a result voted for the other side.
itchyisvegeta 2 years ago
Less spending on corporate welfare, and more on working people who have had their jobs shipped overseas. Pel Grants, low interest College Loans are needed, not Medicare Bills that don't even allow government to negotiate prices and gobs of goodies for big Pharma.
roberts11000 2 years ago
Pell Grants and low interest college loans are corporate welfare. Corporations have the government fund the training their workforce.

"you call yourself fiscally conservative but don't have a problem with a screw on a missle system costing 300 dollars a pop" Why wouldn't I have a problem with that? Are you exaggerating, or do you have proof?
itchyisvegeta 2 years ago
"your inconsistency and that your real bias is against spending on the poor" With all the spending over the decades on the poor, they are STILL POOR! We should be teaching them how to fish, instead of giving them fish. I see 95% of food stamp and welfare people abuse it at my work every day! If you have a child, at what point/age do you stop supporting them, and encourage them to support themselves? The 5% legitimate can be helped with out the government through donations and churches.
itchyisvegeta 2 years ago
Well Church donations have their place , but its ultimately government that can really move numbers statistically, and some of the chronic poverty we had before the New Deal has been remedied. for example Social Security really reduced elderly poverty very significantly. Yeah the private sector has its place, but one thing that would be good is no more free trade agreements which ship jobs overseas.I would say teach someone how to fish Government needs to pay for the fishing lessons.
roberts11000 2 years ago
Train them to use computers maybe? I have a Masters degree in Information Systems and haven't worked a job in about 3 years. I was a former IBMer and they are now making profits by laying off work force.

THEADVENTUREJUNKIE 2 years ago
Socialism is not the basic services provided by the government. It's a government take over of industry. An example would be the government's intent to take over healthcare. You have a government that gave us the compassion of the IRS, the efficiency of the Post Office, the effectiveness of responding to hurricane Katrina, and now people want them to take over healthcare?? Socialism never works because it kills the free market, which is vital for progress of society and prosperity.

ok dummy .. get ready to learn the facts.
REALITYCHURCH 2 years ago
I think you're confusing Socialism with the basic public services that are appropriate for government. Law enforcement is an appropriate role of government. Government run Healthcare is not. That is just an example. The concept of Socialism was designed to level the inequalities that are inevitable in a progressive society. When monies are collected and spent for the good of all by the government at the expense of private industry, growth and prosperity stops. That is why Socialism fails.
eldorama 2 years ago 3
Furthermore, the government's role in the military does not justify its role in other areas. There are some roles that I think are inappropriate for government, like the postal service. FedEx and UPS are more reliable than the USPS in my opinion. The fact is people didn't just sit around and look to the government for the upturn to come (like the Industrial revolution) people went out and created the upturn. Prosperity spread and standard of living rose because of the free market, not government

While true, it is this kind of complacent attitude and understanding that has lead us down this road we are in. God gives and God takes away. The goverment just takes in any way it can as long as we allow it to take place. But because of our attitude and complacency, we allow this to happen. Have a great day! :)
