it means that they are fixed application not just short cuts for example, you cant delete the music icon because its a music listening application. if its jailbroken go go into the apps and you have to unistall it.  if its not jailbroken go into where you got the app ( most likely app store( and remove it from there

its because the are installed into the ipod or iphone and u can uninstall the if its jailbroken, by going into apps and at the bottom it should say uninstall.

u dont need to go to safari. all you have to do is hold an icon, wait until it shakes, then press the "x" in the corner
