So you have the looper for quite a long time ,Lance;-)) That´s why you´ve been so fast in controlling it lately. Good pictures and nice mood in this rhytmic chord layer.
@FrankRMusic Hi Frank. Hope all is well. I'm working with a new guitar player and we'll be posting something soon.... something using some stuff from one of your lessons.
Hey, Lance, had this one saved in my email stash and brought it out for another listen to the improv and played along a bit on the keyboard. Since I don't normally play in E (I believe?) it was a learning experience. HA!
Damn, six months since a comment. This one deserves better. Glad to help fill in the gaps. LOL Later!
The Guitar relates that She would most enjoy playing you, for you are most nimble fingered unlike Her present creature but only if you didn't know the next note you were going to play, this way with nowhere to stand you could relax into a big space like falling where bad note and good note inside outside time no time are meaningless, and then the Guitar would came and play you, a most small odd creature until then crows and ravens call.
You had a good time playing, I had a good time also, and I'm sure everyone who will see and listen to your video will have a cool good time. Your Artworks are fantastic! Great jamming!*****
Thanks Lai - I'm not real speedy but I do like unusual harmonies and intervals. For a guitarist of your caliber to like what I'm doing here is a nice compliment. Thanks.
I most often run out of superlatives on your videos, Lance. This improv, with these great images, reminds me of Brion Gysin. It's a very "Naked Lunch" feel.
Wow Chris that is cool. I didn't know much about Gysin but to say the art reminds you of one of the guys that inspired the Beat poets... very cool. And the music compared to Naked Lunch... well, alright. That's cool too. I'll have to go listen to them and see if you're right 'o) Thanks for the great comment.
This is great Lance, you capture some spirit and that is always in the seams and on the edge. Keep reaching. The best players communicate with one perfectly realized note volumes!
I hear you man. When everybody else was beboppin' Miles Davis played slow deliberate stuff and almost singlehandedly started the whole cool jazz movement.... and in some way it all goes back to the blues. Thanks for the comment.
Nice Lance, dissonant chords, abstract paintings,a man putting his imagination to work and it's working( I like the spacing between the notes), good groove too Lance, an honest and good piece of Art,enjoyed listening to it,greets Vic.
Hey Victor - Thanks for taking this in as well. Yes, the spacing rhythmically and the intervals are what I'm working on. I know I hit a few clunkers but if you read my description it is the reaching that counts. I'm not going to set the world on fire but I love the challenge of stretching while still maintaining some semblance of order. You are absolutely great at this. I love the way it is possible to hit what seems like a wrong note and then pull it home:o)
some sweet prints here Lance they go well with That swesome groovein sound your playing ! realy cool video Brother. my fav piece is at 2;23 very cool lookin . Thanx Again 5* / rox
Thanks Rox - I guess this qualifies a space music huh? Glad we have common ground on our musical and artistic tastes. Best to ya. Thanks again for taking the time.... I know it is a long one.
Just my take on it. I know it isn't to everybody's liking, which is OK. Youtube is fun in that you can share and as long as you're fair and nice to folks its just an exchange of ideas. We are fortunate in this neck of the woods that there are mostly open minded people sharing stuff. I appreciate you're taking the time to read my philosophizing. Hope all is well in your world. Ciao for now.
Not stoned but still cursing the fact that I'm limited to 10 minutes :O) I guess this is rather dated. My description pretty much says where I'm at on such matters. Thanks for dropping by Elie. Take care.
It wasn't intentional on my part but man, if it served that purpose I am delighted. I'm a whole lot more talented if you have a few drinks or a smoke or something 'o)
I hadn't noticed. Hmmmm.... I have no idea. It isn't showing up in the stars. Maybe somebody is after me. LOL If they are they should know that they aren't really real... stars, thumbs down, etc. It's all just digital information. 'o) I'll survive I suppose. :o)
One last note. Usually when I see a vid with more than six minutes listed, I cringe. But this was sweet and entertaining all the way thru! Nice chord changes at the breaks, too. Reminiscent of all those great free-flowing concerts of the 70s with our guitar heroes.
I debated letting it get too long but I really like those turn around chords and the challenge of coming back to the main chord with some kind of finesse. I'm really not that interested in getting a large quantity of traffic to my channel. More into quality listeners like you and others that show up. I don't expect this kind of stuff to have a mass appeal. Then again, if I got a buck for every hit that would be a different matter. Thanks for your thoughtful comments and ongoing support Ben.
Really, really nice, Lance! If you can keep coming up with nice melodies and jams like this, you need to stay out there on the edge. I know what you mean by reproducing the licks, sometimes the biorhythms and stars line up just right and something wonderful comes out. BTW, will you be painting Bo Derek when you do the Bolero paintings? I'll be sure to show up!
oh yeah meant to say best of luck with the live improv painting shows. now thats a challenge everyone should try at least once. im very sure you wont disappoint ;o)
great stuff Lance. thats a seriously cool bit of guitar improv, and the paintings are awesome. improv is such a great way of finding new music. a lot of people go by music theory law and three chord tricks which is great but its all been done. thanks for the mention, big 5***** ;o)
So you have the looper for quite a long time ,Lance;-)) That´s why you´ve been so fast in controlling it lately. Good pictures and nice mood in this rhytmic chord layer.
