remember cortana is a clone of Dr. Halsey now in the first book, when halsey and keyes r scouting John, she test John's eyesight by telling him she will flip a quarter and he will guess on which side it fell on and if he gets it right he will get the quarter (and join the spartan program) John gets it right and he keeps it. Halsay loved her spartans, so with Cortana's insanity she shows one of her creator's memories and feelings, becoming more human than A.I.

I haven't read them in a while so I can't tell you exactly where, but I'm sure it's also on Halopedia. That's why Cortana is considered a "smart" AI, and that's why she'll supposedly go rampant 7 years from her creation.

To test his reflexes she flipped a coin in the air and was going to catch it, and ask him what it was. be4 she could, he grabbed it and yelled out heads, which it was. That is how she knew his reflexes were astounding and he was officially marked as a spartan....
She talks about a coin because when the chief got enlisted in the military when he was 7, he had to play a game with a coin to indicate that his reflexes were very fast. After that he was taken by the UNSC. It all makes sense. Read 'the fall of reach' to know more.

i think its actually "it was the coins fault!" where she refers to when john was being tested for the SPARTAN-II program to become one, they tested his luck by making him flip a coin. im not sure of this, tho. it might be corpse. who knows?

I discovered this ages ago that area where the terminal is awesome, u block the exits with a portable shield (threes two or three in there) and your safe from the flood! It's so happy!

you're right, its from the time when john 117 and Halsey met, do you hear the words being said before the terminal? not the guy, but it says "May i speak with you please?... Very nice to meet you." Its not Cortana, its Halsey when she was alive. And cortana saying things about the coin, thats when they first met, because the chief has luck, whenever he flipped it, it always landed right side up.
What cortana is referring to is when The master chief whas on his home world when he was six. Dr. Hasley approached him and gave him a quarter and told him to guess what side it would land on when she tossed it in the air. When he guessed correctly Thats when Dr. Hasley new he was right for the spartan program, thereby putting him in harms way. Also Cortana was made from cloned brain tissue from Dr. Hasley. So Cortana can actually recall some of Dr. hasley's memmories, like the coin toss.

No, the original Spartans spent too much energy to work on the battle field. Eventually the Navy just used them to work on docks and to train the Spartan-IIs.
The first sprtan prodjekt the improved regular soldiers (Mainly ODST) by "enchanting" their DNA. Though proven succesful the program was shutdown becouse the agumentation was to expensive in compertion to the product.

upon further inspection she says it was the COINS FAULT you just have to listen carefully to this and in the cutscene in the mission arrival. in this mission she says they made me choose and i choose you above all others because you had one thing they didnt. you had luck. was i wrong? refrencing to him testing his luck on reach during the sparten training program.

i think its actually "it was the coins fault!" where she refers to when john was being tested for the SPARTAN-II program to become one, they tested his luck by making him flip a coin. im not sure of this, tho. it might be corpse. who knows?

if it was the word 'corps', then shes talking about the flood, if she is, then 'i wanted to keep you safe' was a reference to her leaving him, which leads to 'but i cant, sorry' she knows that he's there to rescue her by putting himself in danger, 'make you strong' is from when he was little, probably.

and actually if you read the rest of the books you will find out that a handfull of spartan-II's survived Reach... and during Halo 2 & 3 the Spartan-III program was in action fighting the Covenent elsewhere but they kept that a secret and ill let you find out when you read Halo: Ghosts of Onyx

yeah, when Halsey first selected the six-year-old children to be kidnapped and trained as the SPARTANS, she would flip a coin with them. The Master Chief showed great promise, and when she based Cortana on her own mind, Cortana thought the same way she did.

you're right, its from the time when john 117 and Halsey met, do you hear the words being said before the terminal? not the guy, but it says "May i speak with you please?... Very nice to meet you." Its not Cortana, its Halsey when she was alive. And cortana saying things about the coin, thats when they first met, because the chief has luck, whenever he flipped it, it always landed right side up.

What cortana is referring to is when The master chief whas on his home world when he was six. Dr. Hasley approached him and gave him a quarter and told him to guess what side it would land on when she tossed it in the air. When he guessed correctly Thats when Dr. Hasley new he was right for the spartan program, thereby putting him in harms way. Also Cortana was made from cloned brain tissue from Dr. Hasley. So Cortana can actually recall some of Dr. hasley's memmories, like the coin toss.

No, the original Spartans spent too much energy to work on the battle field. Eventually the Navy just used them to work on docks and to train the Spartan-IIs.

The first sprtan prodjekt the improved regular soldiers (Mainly ODST) by "enchanting" their DNA. Though proven succesful the program was shutdown becouse the agumentation was to expensive in compertion to the product.
