@yodermeister That's probally because most people believe in freedom to choose be it healthy or bad and don't like organizations with a vegetarian agenda hiding behind bogus science trying to get governent to tell us what to eat.
@swirty89 I am assuming all the vitriol here is based on Fat Head (a movie). How certain are you that it is an objective and unbiased source of information?
@yodermeister Because I actually do this dumb thing called research. Even if Naughton was biased he ain't going around trying to get governement groups to make laws to suit his dietary preferences. He ain't going to vegan resteraunts picketing them. No one should dictate another's food choice. I'm sure like most you already made your mind up that Fat Head was a McDonalds.
Why does CSPI promote carbohydrates, while ignoring the dietetics?
Why is there still no food labels giving the food's glycemic index?
Why does CSPI go after MacDonald's over toys in the meals, when it's the parents that pay for the meals and ultimately the parent's decision to purchase or not?
Why does CSPI promote sugars and starches when anyone with a little bio-chem knows that buildup of sugars in the blood will lead to diabetes, hypertension, and weight gain?
This is all well and good if the goal was only to educate the public; but when CSPI lobbies for restrictive laws and government regulation, you've lost me. Just make the studies and "science" you deem dire known to the public and let the public decide what they are willing to ingest. If I want to kill myself with KFC, that's my business not CSPI!
I think CSPI is great. Especially their campaigns exposing the health and environmental impacts of the meat and factory farming industry. Consumers deserve to know the truth about where their food comes from, especially animal products.
They are the best!!!! Everybody should subscribe to their magazine. It is only $20 for a whole year. Actually it should be required by law that everybody reads its. :) You will NOT regret it once subscribed.
I'm a dietitian and agree they are fighting for public health - and effect real change. It's the only health letter to which I subscribe. Highly recommend CSPI's Nutrition Action.
The idiocy in these comments is staggering.

Simple questions:
Why does CSPI promote carbohydrates, while ignoring the dietetics?
Why is there still no food labels giving the food's glycemic index?
Why does CSPI go after MacDonald's over toys in the meals, when it's the parents that pay for the meals and ultimately the parent's decision to purchase or not?
Why does CSPI promote sugars and starches when anyone with a little bio-chem knows that buildup of sugars in the blood will lead to diabetes, hypertension, and weight gain?
