Heavens to Murgatroid! THANKS for posting! Not only did TZ have some excellent scripts, but it featured some of the finest actors around...including many who went on to be big stars, such as Lee Marvin, Robert Duvall & Robert Redford. In fact, some of them (such as Lee Marvin) appeared in more than one episode! Groovy to see noted character actors like Jim Best. Lee Van Cleef & Strother Martin here too! Top notch stuff !!! :-)
This one of the very best from the original Twilight Zone -- a ghost story set in the Old West. I think that Lee Marvin was on M Squad about that same time. Lee Van Cleef, James Best, Srother Martin, and the guy who played Cheif O'Hara (on Batman). Great cast. Great (and creepy) story. It allowed the viewer to come up with their own conclusion. Rod Serling and Buck Houghton were great screenwriters/storytellers. Steven Speilberg gleaned a lot from them.
'That whole Sykes family, they never was real bright". Connie Miller was really riled up when Mothershed, Johnny Rob and Steinheart inferred that he was afraid to visit Pinto Sykes' grave. One of the best TZ episodes and a first class cast.
@septip123 And remember in 1962, just a year after this was on CBS, Lee Marvin played LIberty Valance in The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance starring John Wayne and James Steward and directed by the great John Ford. Storther Martin and Lee Van Cleef played Marvin's henchmen in that film.
And that guy one guy was the warden from Cool Hand Luke. I keep expecting him to smack Conney and say--> What we have here... is a failure to communicate!
Jeepers was that James Best as Sheriff Coltrain from Dukes? All the times I was watchin him in Dukes I knew I knew him but couldnt place him. Well I'll be a son of a gun. ha ha.
Love the pot belly wood stove. Reminds me of the one in the church at my grandpas down in the country. You know so far back in the hills they have what they call church sunday. the farmers couldnt just go to church every sunday, ya know.
Even back then a bounty hunter would take his hat off in the presense of a lady, respect back then, but now there seems to be a lack of respect, especially from young kids teeager, etc.
Oh, please. Read a little and you'll come to notice society has had 'punks' and 'uppity, disrespectful' young people for as long as society has existed.
And be careful, areas known for their politeness and courtesy are also often later known for their brutality.
Could you please post part 1 of this episode?

That's because there aren't very many REAL men left... unfortunately, they're mostly adolecents in men's bodies.

Not good enough. Should be in the presence of a WOMAN, whether lady, virgin, whore, whatevah.
