I feel sorry for the poor bastards that show up to UFC or Strikeforce shows and get paid 4,000, or even 1,000 dollars to risk your life. I think that the last strikeforce show had some japanese dude getting 998.00 dollars...how the hell do they come up with that figure....after all the training...nutrition, rehabbing, and everything that goes into training, to get under 5,000 dollars for a fight is sad. Especially in the UFC.

@ZLeeJonZ That 10k to show/10k to win minimum is not true dude. Guys like Demetrius Johnson & Dustin Poirier only had $5,000 and $4,000 guarantees the last time they fought on very recent UFC PPVs. Shoot, Michihiro Omigawa, who was thought to be a top 5 FW going into his fight w/ Mendes, only received a guarantee of $8,000 for the fight. None received KO/SUB/FOTN bonuses either.

@ZLeeJonZ And these Mysterious "locker room bonuses" are exactly that. A mystery. Besides hearing them handed out occasionally to a couple of top guys (like Couture when he went to court), nobody knows who gets them or how much they are getting if anything. None of us can speak on them as fact.

@ZLeeJonZ If these guys got "paid plenty" main event guys like Shane Carwin or Rampage would have no room to complain. But that's exactly what they did about their pay when headlining recent UFC PPVs. Carwin with his very public complaints about his pay before fighting Brock. And Pampage with his "UFC stands for U Fight Cheap" comment just before fighting Rashad.

Rampage got paid 250k to lose to Rashad Evans... He gets paid plenty. Plus they are getting paid from every sponsor on their trunks, the hat they put on after fights, and whatever drink the hold up after fights. I meant main card minimum, guys who dont get on TV never get paid as much, obviously. Dana is notorious for paying guys extra that make an exciting fight... Locker-room bonuses are fact. Plus the UFC pays for the very best travel, training, and healthcare.

Boxing is dieing. Did u see manny's last fight. The Rap performance @ a boxing fight WTF?& they got to have the worst commentator's of all time. That young guy they got is rediculous. they got 1 more good fight after manny KO's mosley and its floyd vs manny. I would watch Nick diaz box in a heart beat & i think 40-50% of the ppl who love UFC would watch it also. Last but not least the Champs in boxing and the UFC pretty much fight the same amount of times a yr (twice) They are def. under paid.

Shit, Lamont Peterson & Nate Campbell made six figures fighting against Victor Ortiz on recent HBO undercard bouts.

The Kameda brothers, Hasegawa, Naito, etc, in Japan make big money fighting over there. As I'm sure guys like Felix Sturm and the like do while maintaining a homebase in Germany.

All the orginal members of the Super Six like Ward, Abraham, Froch are making high six or seven figure paydays. Bradley & Berto just fought and each made over a million for the fight. Amir Khan is up near seven figures after having made 900k vs Maidana. Sergio Martinez made seven figures vs Williams who also made seven figures. Berto just made over a million vs Ortiz, who made 400k. Shit even lighter weight fighters like Juanama and Raffy Marquez made 700k each for their fight.

There is absolutely no chance that the 30th highest MMA fighter makes more than the 30th highest paid boxer. Not a chance. Taking the highest paid guys like Pacquaio & Mayweather out of the equation, and then the next tier like the Klitschkos, Haye, Mosely, Cotto, etc., there's still likely a couple of dozen other fighters that make seven figures or at least high six figures when they fight. Pascal is making a million per fight now. Bute just signed a 3 fight/2 million per contract w/ Showtime.
