Fight Club is my favorite movie and book. (Edward Norton is also the best actor to ever live and Fincher would be director except for Mr. Kubrick.) The whole leaving out the parrafin lines really upsets me.

@SerialJoe1 He didn't shoot himself in the throat. He pointed the gun so the bullet could come out of the side, by the jawbone. That's how he fooled Tyler, he did think he shoot himself in the throat.

Lol, at first, it would seem that he tried to kill himself by pointing his gun straight at his chin. At 2:23 it seems that he actually points the gun to the side towards the left cheek.

The confusing thing is that, killing himself or not, evidently 'erases' Tyler Durdern as a dissociated personality. Or at least, that is what I think it is implying, as Tyler is falling in the end. So apparently, a near-death experience causes this as so. He definitely was willing, though. Great movie. :D

ED was huge a few months before shooting fight club in amrican x. he did roids obviousy but for this role he had to be skinny with a belly and look terrible. brad had to look great and all using drugs. now actors look in btter shape than pro athletes. its crazy.

Because the shot didn't kill him. In the narrator's mind, the shot in his mouth was killing tyler. So after the shot, the narrator was alive, without tyler, and with a hole in his mouth.
