Wouldn't it be great if they used that porkulus spending bill to install dry spans or raise the bridges so they didn't dam up all the waterways and make teh flooding worse? Because bridges are where the communities are, and that is where they back up the floodwater. Bridges used to have teh roadbed ramped up to them so high water flowed over the roadway and spared the bridge, they raised those roads and made huge earthen dams, same as I-88 caused havoc where built on the floodplain.
i live in bainbridge and we got nailed so did sidney our towns were under martial law and army reserves went up and down the street with loudspeakers telling everyone to stay in their house u couldnt drive 88 had collapsed we had a curfew we had to be in at 6 o'clock or get arrested
the baseball field is behind my house and when it flooded it was 10 feet deep ATLEAST and people were swimming in it which was sick, little did they know that it was filled with sewage
i was living in oneonta otsego county when this hapend and i remember this one road it went and toar 4 ft into to it and another 3 or feet down making a drainage ditch i gues you wolud call it
Great video
