  • nice editing job

  • Never get tired of those Klingon disruptors...

  • GREAT JOB>VERY WELL DONE

  • Hey really nice job here. Keep up the good work....

  • Lighten up, it's just for fun, and to me that's what You tube is all about.

Then you all complain when these big corps Do their thing.

They make Original shit, and take no prisoners..when showing it..lol

  • This was hilarious. Why do people feel the need to play Star Trek? These cuts are TERRIBLE. The insertions are ludicrous. Seriously, I used to play like this when I was 7 years old at recess - and even then felt a little stupid. Why don't you do something original? Even an original Trek story? Just recutting old episodes and inserting yourself and friends into it seems like a big waste of time. Just my opinion.

  • Wow, my father looks more menacing than the klingons and hes dead.

  • Man he killed his crew, I'm glad he wasn't my captain, hehe

  • Bloody awesome!!!

  • 37 seconds in, and I am impressed...must've taken loads of work!

  • Would Robert Conrad be beliveable as Commodore Matt decker in the Altered Timeline ?

  • Creative!

  • Thanks! thats very creative how you mixed the episodes together to seem like its another one, I like that.

  • It's a trap! Our Sheilds can't repel firepower of that magnitude... Whoops! Wrong alternate universe! This is in the future, not a long time ago!!!

  • Very nice!

I am an old school trekker who remembers watching TOS first run. You did a very good job, and I wish i had that kind of skill. i would like to try that some time. Can you share with us what editing tools you used?

  • Thank you for the complement. I was in Star Trek bliss the entire time I worked on this and all of my video edits! I used Windows Movie Maker to edit this and Bingo DVD Ripper to convert the video to a usable format. I now use Adobe Premier Elements for editing. This video is rather crudely done compared to what I can do now, and someday hope to do an improved version. But first I have to finish the episode! I have part 2 and some of part 3 posted, so be sure to check them out as well.

  • quite cleverly done...better than a lot of other attempts from other people!

  • Thank you, it was truly a labor of love!

  • This is stupid!

  • And a big waste of time according to my wife!

  • hello im captian hobo....i need a bath and a shave . btw do you have any change for sum soup :|

  • Close-up on the red shirt spy! lol

  • I know the closeup on the red shirt turned out kinda funny, but it sets up a major plot point in the next segment . . .

  • i don't get why you'd put a drunk hobo looking guy at the helm of a starship

  • And he's crazy too!!!

  • deutrium hydrogen fuel compositor using spacial graviton distortion maglev FTL hydrogen burner rickety, welcome to the excemption to the the laws of quantum physics. :)

  • Damndable Brilliant video editing work here ! i'm super impressed ! well done !

  • Thank you, I'm blushing!

  • Welcome aboard the U.S.S. Lunatic.

  • this is from blood and fire!

  • Not Bad. Not Bad, at all...Well Done! The lost esp.

  • I like the "in-syndication" style editing!

  • is clip one from the deadly years by any chance? He sounds slightly like mccoy whoever it is...

  • Really Cool!!!

  • Matt Decker was one those characters that you really DID want to see again.(And at one point the actor who played him, William Windom who seemed a bit of a curmudgeon in the interview said in reference to the original films "With all their shenanigans they could've found a way a way to bring ME back!" I wish they WOULD have.) His son Will would be seen(Ever so briefly)as the Captain who had the unenviable task of following James T. Kirk in the Captain's chair of the Enterprise.

    GREAT JOB!.

  • Space...The final frontier...

To boldly go where no man has gone before....

Those words is what got me stuck into the Sci-Fi genre when I was small, and I've never regretted it since.

  • Too bad...for a second there I thought it was going to be real.

  • Ummm... Why would anyone in the Federation fear that Klingon vessel? From what I've gathered, the Federation produces strictly capitol ships. The Klingon Empire has produced a total of nine capitol ships, the rest are cruisers or frigates.

  • what about voyager? it seems to me like it's half Enterprise's size at best

  • As a fan of Commodore Decker, I say bravo. Now, if you can only give him a shave!

  • I never knew a Klingon D7/Ktinga was quite so powerful as to take on a Constitution single handedly. Still-great effort!

  • I have never seen this slot before.. Can you give me the details of the cast listed aboard the enterprise? And of course, what were the enterprise crew doing in the Klingon ship that attacked the USS. Enterprise? Help me. Thanks!

  • I created this by editing clips together from many different episodes, which is why you have not seen it before. The cast aboard the Constellation was comprised in part by the Star Trek Phase II cast. And finally, the Enterprise crew beamed on board another Star Fleet ship, not a Klingon ship. I hope this reply has helped to clarify things.

  • @albion432 how ingenius

  • @waddleduckie1 if you ever get the chance watch one of the new voyages episodes. The one with the

doomsday machine returning was quite good. Had Decker in it. And 'To Serve all my days' had Walter

    Koenig in it.

  • It's clips like these that made me a LIS fan. Star Trek and their fans worship war, militarism, and collectivist thinking.

  • Er, no.

  • Been to a Star Trek film lately. Shields up. Phasers locked and armed.... That's not science fiction; that's militarism complete with enemy states and geo-political muscling. Klingons were nothing more than Soviets and the Federation was NATO. I'll stick with the masters of the trade: Asimov, Arthur C Clark and Carl Sagan. They opened the mind to what the human potential is capable of and demonstrated that any civilization capable of interstellar travel has evolved beyond war.

  • Believe it or not, that was actually Roddenberry's model for Star Trek. He wasn't only commenting on the human condition, which he wanted to do, but also the geopolitics of the time.

I've not known Carl Sagan to be a master of science fiction. I've read Bova, Stasheff, Asimov, Bradbury and a host of others. Some good. Some bad. It really depends on your taste.

Answer me this; why do you think Star Trek became so popular?

  • First Carl Sagan wrote a wonderful novel called "Contact", it was later made into a film starring Jodi Foster. The film's premise had to do with whether Human Beings could appreciate the intricacies of the discoveries made by an alien race. Despite the fact that Sagan wrote only one novel, it does offer a contrasting and enlightening view to how humans might actually interact with alien races. (No one phasers here...)

  • I saw "Contact". I thought it was okay. It's certainly an optimistic view, and I think one a lot of us hope will, in gist and spirit, occur.

But, I don't think one (or two) science fiction novels a great sci-fi author make. Don't you agree? :-)

  • Sagan had written many non-fiction books that transcended beyond just science facts. He bridge science from classroom tedium to a spiritual awaking about the universe we live in. That might not qualify as science fiction but it does mean Sagan was a gifted story teller.

  • Second, Star Trek in my opinion substantially declined in quality when the second series aired in the late 80s. There were too many plots that dealt with governments, politics, war, and less about discovery. The serious war nature of the series was not all enlightening. The Borg as an enemy for me were nothing more than glorified Daleks from Doctor Who. Regarding Star Trek's popularity, Religion is popular too and Star Trek has indeed become a religion.

  • I didn't see that at all. I stopped watching it during the second season because I thought it was way too PC. One of the big complaints from old school fans was that the Enterprise didn't mix up enough.

Star Trek is not a religion. I've known more religous ST fans who were earnest about their belief and fandom, than I ever meant ernest Christians.

Star Trek as initially executed, is excellent TV drama.

  • Star Trek came from weekly television and I will agree it broke the mold. I certainly was a rapid fan growing up in the early 70s when the show was syndicated. But let's be honest:, Star Trek wasn't a particularly original concept. Sci-fi from 30s to the 60s had many Enterprises and Federations. Rocky Jones was NBC's first space weekly in the 50s. Rocky and Winky confront alien races and represents "The United Worlds". Forbidden Planet of course was the prequel to Star Trek.

  • Common themes. I think even the Science Patrol from Ultraman had a thematic link to ST. First Men in the Moon, and a host of others.

But it's not the same setting and characters, so I would disagree.

  • wow...thanks for generalizing an entire group of people into a single stereotype...i can see how not being a Trek fan has really left you with an open mind

  • Star Treks fans are clones, get over it. If you disagree, criticize, or otherwise not worship their cult, you are an outsider. The franchise is dull, war-mongering, and simply no longer interesting. sorry for being blunt. But that is what you get when you have nothing else to say except Phrasers, Shields up, and bullshit like that. Go ahead and google the videos, there are hundreds of these Star Trek videos of war and destruction, and I just don't think that is good sci-fi.

  • Then you've never watched Star Trek.

  • See my post below. Lastly, after 40 years of watching television Sci-Fi, I have to confess that LIS is my favorite. It is because I cannot possibly take it so seriously that I get the most kick out of it. Dr. Smith is by far the most complicated character that came out of 60s television. The show is sort of a mix between Alice in Wonderland, Swiss Family Robinson, and Edgar Rice Burroughs. Sure there is a lot of bad LIS but the very best of LIS is a riot!

  • I happen to think Lost In Space is the epitome of family kamp. Good in a B-movie sort of way, but still B-grade-schlock. The Smith characterization was interesting, but cliche after a while... like all actors.

It ranks up there with "Family", or "Eight is Enough" or "The Brady Bunch". I thought Lost in Space was just pure s**t, but s**t the family could watch together.

Star Trek is the superior show, and always will be.

  • Star Trek's problem has been over production where it finally became the ultimate space opera. If you ever noticed Irwin Allen's shows are based on well-known English adventure novels. LIS is based on Johann Wyss' Swiss Family Robinson, Land of the Giants on Johnathan Swift's Gulliver's Tales, Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea was based on 20,000 Leagues, and Time Tunnel of course was based on H.G. Wells Time Machine. All interesting adaptations.

  • Gulliver's Travels, not Tales, sorry!

  • The Star Trek characters are woefully one-dimensional and again, militaristic, especially TNG -- that show is like watching Corporate America in space complete with the "conference room" . "Captain we have a 4 O'clock to discuss the Borg threat." "No number one, I meeting with Admiral CEO to discuss the situation on Rigel 3." BARF!!

  • "The Brady Bunch"? Please.... Obviously you don't get the charm of LIS. And that's ok, it's not for everyone. If you grew up reading Jonathan Swift or Lewis Carrol, you would get LIS. Irwin Allen was a big fan of fantasy adventure novels of the late 18th Century.

  • Oh, I get it. I just don't like it. I have several John Switf books, from the old set. I also have Mike Mars, Space Space Space, and watched a lot of Irwin Allen.

I understand what Lost in Space is, but it's not supposed to be kampy, kitchy fare. It was serious family sci-fi offering for the 60's. The fact that it was exceptionally poor, to me, doesn't moderate its popularity.

  • If you ever thought about it LIS inspired Lucas and the Star Wars saga, right down to the individual characters. No doubt the Robot inspired the androids. Smith is a mix between C3PO and Darth Vader. Luke is Will, Princess Leia, sister to Luke comes from Penny, Hans Solo is a carbon copy of Don West, hot-shot cocky pilot complete with the back and forth barbs between he and C3PO. The reformation of Darth Vader into Anakin could be the John Robinson character. LIS had a lot to offer.

  • That's not really true. I think George Lucas wanted to remake Flash Gordon, but King Features wanted a huge amount of money for the rights, and pay him as little as possible for directing. So he went and made up his own stuff, although he did borrow quite a bit from ther sci-fi venues.

Where are you getting your information?

  • In Lost in Space Forever, there was a segment about how LIS inspired Lucas. Stars Wars and LIS were both 20th Century products and even employed a number of the same people. John Williams for one wrote both scores. Lucas was very familiar with Irwin Allen's work and you can't deny the parallels I brought out in my last post. No doubt Lucas got the idea of the light saber from the LIS episode: "The Challenge" where Guy Williams fights a challenger with "Voltage Blades".

  • Sure, whatever. :-)

  • You just shot yourself in the foot. If you were objective, you would have watched the episode to find out for sure. All the LIS episodes are available for free on Yahoo TV. It is remarkable how the Voltage Blade episode is so similar to the light sabers. Lucas knew and admired Allen. Allen in the early 70s was the block buster producer at the time. Allen produced the most-expensive tv series in the 60s. To deny that Lucas was not influenced by Allen is not looking at the facts.

  • lol, okay :-)

  • Now you are being facetious and I don't appreciate that. I spent all day discussing my opinions about science fiction with a self-proclaimed Star Trek fan. Resorting to emoticons and sarcasm is something I have come to expect from the unenlightening Star Trek fans who can't see passed their franchise. I have seen the quality of their fan base deteriorate to the point that I can't distinguish Star Trek fans from the Religious Right. In the words of William Shatner: "Get a Life".

  • Well, I was at work today... =P

I just think you're taking it way too seriously. Star Trek is great. I love it. But it ain't no religion. It's just good TV drama. I happen to think it a hell of a lot better than most of what was produced in the 60s and 70s. And I think the stories hold up today.

George Lucas I think admittedly "borrowed" from a lot of other sci-fi stories, and threw 'em altogether to come up with Star Wars. Lost in Space though? Maybe a dash of it.

    Life calls.

  • Nice work !

  • Funny Shit!!LMAO!!

  • Haha, great job. That ol' cloaking device would sure come in handy at the end though.

  • LOL this is sooo funnny but good :)

  • The part at 3:46-3:50 is priceless!

  • One of the best clip jobs I've seen yet

  • Nice job Damion Metz, your alomst 40 or so now? Boy time sure dose fly.. I espically liked the NBC peacock, very authintic..It was nice to see you on the bridge of the 1701-D in vegas long ago, during that opening. And no Im not dead yet. Did you ever name another licence plate MORTIS that was cool back then. Anyway we sure were kids back then werent we. These days Im In Broadway musicals and play professionally all over..I known now as, 'Edge' Is Tillatos still the lord of Death?.

  • Sorry Marcus, my name is Albion; you've confused me with someone else . . .

  • wow they killed Khan

  • I love the toggling between startrek TOS, and startrek "the new adventures" -- very inventive... 5/5

  • this is part two of my story. Decker had a son "William Decker" who he asked Kirk to watch over in his will. Kirk puts William through the Acadamy and William was to cammand the new-refited Enterprise in Star Trek the motion picture (if you read the book it goes into even more detail).

  • Will Decker wouldve been through the Acadamy when "The Doomsday Machine" accured. TMP is place 3 yrs after the 5 yr mission; even if TDM happened in the mission's first yr (most likely somewhere in the middle based on the stardate) there was 8 yrs max between then and when Will Decker took command of the Enterprise, not enough time to go through the Acadamy & get enough experience to make the rank of captian. Also, Will had been capt throughout the refit, making the time frame even smaller.

  • He looks like he is drunk because this footage is from the planet eater. The planet eater attacked his ship, he beamed his entire crew to a planet. The planet eater then eat the planet! He feels responsible. Kirk and Scotty were on his ship and he took over command of the Enterprise to seek revenge against the planet eater. He then steals a shuttle craft and kills him self inside the planet eater (he blows up the shuttle craft). Kirk gets the idea what Decker is doing and blows up Deckership

  • very skillfully done, i enjoyed that.

  • LOL Commodore Decker looks like he's drunk off his ass.

  • I love it !!!

This was fun to watch. i am very impressed at what you accomplished. I seriously hope you make a few more episodes.

    thank you

I will look you up again in a month hoping for more episodes....

Hey can you do a klingon space battle like in the original motion picture where 3 klingon birds of prey attack the VGER cloud..?? The Klingon Battle anthem was perfect.

  • Thank you! It was a lot of fun making it. Be sure to check out Part 2. Part 3 is being worked on and should be finished by summer.

Interesting that you mention the Klingon ships from TMP; I've played around with that footage and intergrated some of it into the Part 3. I've also created a shot with 3 Klingon Battlecruisers surrounding the K-7 Space Station, by combinding shots from the original series.

  • Why doesn't somebody tell Commadore Decker to comb his hair and shave! He always looks like he's just come of an all night bender.

  • lol this is great thanks for doing it

  • I see you borrowed from Star Trek The Original Series and Star Trek New Voyages.

  • Ya think??? ...

  • How is what I'm doing any different than people who take scenes from a tv show and make a music video out of them? Is it because I'm attempting to create a new storyline that you feel I've "Ripped off other peoples work"?

  • Cleverly edited. Believably portrayed the "crew" of the Constellation.

  • It's giving me just a little bit of a headache, I think the editing is a little jarring because I can see where it's taking place at if you pay attention well enough. I guess this is something interesting to the real hardcore Trekkies, but this is I'm not sure definitely something that would be added to official Trekdom canon (I'm not all that sure Gene Roddenberry would be particularly happy w/ this -- nearly ranks w/ down there w/ the TAS episodes).

  • not bad but what was with the credits changing colors?

  • Just for something different, and to symbolize that this episode has been put together using footage from all three seasons, and the titles did change color from season to season.

  • fantastic effort.

  • 100% Awesome.

  • Weird.

  • kirks warp factor 8 dub is pure funny!

  • Everybody in a red shirt hid! Where did they go? LOL!

  • sweet this was edited well had me fooled for a second.

  • Very impressive, I am most found of the credits they almost convey story of thir own. This could become a new genera of it's own, please continue.

  • How very Star Fleet Battles of you.... ;)

  • Star Trek the New Voyages and some!

  • clever

  • Indeed. Facinating.

  • yeah!!!

  • COOL!
