ya so i've read a few comments about what i said and i just want to say that i wasn't trying to imply that my car is fast JUST because it has straight pipes... yes, they do help open things up and stop the motor from being choked, but they arent gonna add much power unless you have a good intake and header setup first, and even then they are more for getting everyones attention than anything else. i will say though, when i put the straights on the car (which was purple btw) i got more respect!
@StevenBTT No there is still back pressure from the headers assuming they are stock. Back pressure needs to be below 3 psi to start decreasing performance. Even if he had the cat back taken off i guarantee you he would still have more than 3 psi of back pressure. Think about all the gases and exhaust coming out of 8 cylinders at 5850rpms. Not to mention the exhaust is hot. Hot gasses like to expand. And all of that coming out of a 2.5" dia. header exit. Thats not even including a mid or catback.

That car is rated at 305 HP from the factory with no mufflers of h pipe its now rated at 275 yea dood your losing horsepower your stock heads need the back pressure for the exhaust valves a exhaust system gives u that pressureI recomend a X pipe because of the of the firing order you have two cylinders that fire on each side consecutively with a x pipe the exhuast can escape much quicker than a H and give you the back pressure needed.

The reason mustangs have H and X pipes are due to the uneven fireing order...the cross over alows the presure to neutralize...you really should have one on these cars, plus it will sound better :)

Straight piped just means that it's just pipe (like straight whiskey...only whiskey no cola, etc.), there's no mufflers and/or cats. Not in a geometric sense like it's one piece of perfectly straight pipe with no bends. What's an x- or h-pipe made out of? ....pipe! So it would be straight piped then...
