i meant 192 kbps. but i still left it on custom and i also left it on stereo only thing i changed was the music options i just changed it to 30 seconds since it is a ringtone

this worked for me only thing i'll say is that when i changed the kbps to 32 it sounded muffled. i just left it at 132 it at 132 and it sounds just as it did when i play it in itunes idk maybe some phones are different either way it helped out alot man thanks

Edit>Preferences>General

Click 'Import Settings'

Change the 'Import Using' tab thing from 'AAC Encoder' to 'MP3 Encoder.'

Now you can convert to MP3. :)

It does work!!! The video is not using the most updated version of iTunes, but Apple constantly updates the software to prevent people from doing this. So let's be smarter then what we're working with here. The menu boxes are organized a little different, and you can use a higher Bit Rate, 192 has been working for me. But other then that, it is all the same and DOES WORK!!!

If you are using itunes 8 it is a little different...you go to edit-preferences and under general click import settings, under import using switch it from AAC encoder to Mp3 encoder, now when u right click your song the option to create as Mp3 will be there...the rest is in the vid :)
