Soonr discontinued the Skype support in FEbruary of 2008. There are simply too many alternatives for remote callback services. Soonr's core customers were asking for better and more remote services, so we focused on that.

Hello, as of February 11th, we discontinued support for Skype. There are too many solutions available for this and we shifted our focus to the business users who need backup with virtulization and file rendering. Sorry if that was the reason you decided to use SoonR. You can try out Jahjah or EQO or iSkoot or Shape services. Really, there's a mess of free Skype programs for the iPhone. But SoonR remains the only program that gives the depth of file vitualization and collaboration features.

How is the iphone connected to the internet? There has to be either a hardwire connection or a bluetooth connection to the computer. The data network that the iphone runs on cannot support enough bandwidth to use skype with average call quality. The largest flaw with the iphone is att. Whats the point in having "the worlds greatest multimedia phone" if it doesn't have the backbone to support its features. If the phone were on sprint or verizons evdo network maybe it would be worth while!!

Hey guys from 3. Way to piggyback on a video. I like that phone. Does it have a web browser? If so, maybe you can access your desktop files, applications, and search. That's what SoonR is about. Calling is just a small part of it. I'll have to get one of those phones and check it out.

Will this work without skype out or on the ipod touch through wifi?

The Touch does not have a microphone. This makes it very difficult to use it as a 2 way device. Also, SoonR Talk requires mobile service for the callback. So it will not work with the Touch.

Hey selfmadebillionaire! I am surprised you are concerned about a few minutes of cell time. :) To answer you question, it does use cell phone minutes when you receive a SkypeOut call. Also, you can call a landline, but the result will be two SkypeOut calls. So you'll have to pay for those. It's still a good deal in most cases. However, if you call another cell phone, it is another thing entirely. You need to check the SkypeOut rates to the country you'll be calling to find out the details.

I have a few questions. When you are using skype with the iphone dose it use phone time minutes? Can you use skype to call land lines with the iphone and evade cell phone minutes? Thanks
