even though you probably already know this but you shouldn't tape off the design so you can get that soft edges(no edges in the paint) in order to do that you should draw out the design first with chalk then just paint right over the chalk so you know where to put your design.

why would i want a soft edge? I wanted the lines to be crisp and clean, look at the design style... it has tribal tattoo-like designs in the foreground, a soft edge would completely take that away. I do not understand...

Airbrushing uses an art tool that at one end is hooked up to an air compressor in which air is blown into the tool and through it to the other end. There is another opening where you attach a vial of paint and the paint is sucked up into the airbrush and blown out the end with air. At the top (i'm not sure what you'd call it) is where you control the air flow and the paint flow. Pushing down releases the paint and pulling back releases the air depending how far you pull back.

great job! only thing i can suggest is spraying the background first... it's a pain to go back and remask everything to paint the black background. start from the background then work up from there =) awesome job though

we had thought about that, but was worried that the white/yellow wouldn't show through well enough had we painted the black first. :-/

it was bad enough we had to put about 20 layers of white over the yellow/red LOL

No, I don't skate. I was painting this board for someone who did and also collects decks, but I have decided to keep the board for myself. It's not 100% I have not put a name on the board yet but once I decide on that, I will need to put a clear coat over it to seal it and protect it.

Sorta. I designed it in photoshop on my PC and so I had to scale out and print off the design, but ended up just free handing it and using the design printouts as a guide.

So basically everything on that board is freehand by eye sight

The tattoo work was the hardest as the scale of the board was different from how I originally designed it... so... lol that was fun and very time consuming
