Why didn't they show the whole commercial? After Joan says "and there's something sexy about it too" she says " then, when something happens(fire flares up in fireplace) and it will"(doorbell rings) you can always say it wasn't me, it was my Scoundrel" Joan opens door; sexy fireman says "somebody here report a fire?" Joan looks at him seductively; fade out; I loved it!!
That was and still is one of my favorite perfumes! They made perfume better back then and it had many levels of scent--closest I've come is Rapture in the heart shaped bottle by Victoria's Secret!
What a weird name- Scoundrel???? SCANDAL, maybe.. but Scoundrel? They might as well have said- "A luxurious and glamorous perfume for ladies... its called Bastard..."
lol...you're right! linda got "forever krystle"and john got "carrington" i wonder how miss collins felt about "scoundrel"? well i guess as long as the check cleared at the end of the day she was cool.... :)
Haha...the thing is, Linda Evan's 'Forever Krystle' and John Forsythe's 'Carrington' were made by Aaron Spelling's business associates to cash in on 'Dynasty'...
'Scoundrel' was a fragrance from Revlon, Joan worked for Revlon for a few years in the 80s.
oh, i didn't know that...well i guess that makes sense...damn was there nothing that they didnt put their names on during that time to market? its amazing how much influence that show had on a nation! i wonder if somewhere on ebay if you can find a half empty bottle of "forever krystle"? i mean they can still mass produce "charlie" and "wind song", but no "forever krsytle? thats a damn shame....
@parkguy505 hahaaaaa. your post made me laugh so much. It's true. The marketers and advertising creatives didn't think this name through enough. hehe. It's an awful name for a woman's perfume.
