the germans had way more advanced weapons, but they were very behind on nuclear power when Hiroshima happened germany just started to experiment with it, sort of reading manual books about it. but their jet engine stuff was just amazing, even the german rocket scientists were stolen by the americans after the war

A guy found one of these buzzbomb engines in an old airplane yard at Chino airfield, CA. He refurbished it, mounted it on the back of a pickup truck, and for the first time ever, ran it down the runway at the 'Planes of Fame' airshow last year. I called my mother (English) and let her hear the sound on the phone - she remembered it instantly from the war and it made her heart race!

Absolutely deafening sound that hurts the ears. I hope he runs it again in 2 weeks for this years show.

They definitely were innovative in the military sector, but overall their industry (as well as Italy's) was lagging behind other western nations at that time. If you think about it, Germany was sort of forced to militarize heavily due to the aspirations of Hitler. But what exactly does that mean? The economy of Fascist Germany was centered on military products, and is not as broad as ours. Russia had the same idea and their economy started collapsing by 1985.
