  • Cats instinctively know what is good for them. I leave dry cat food outside my home for a feral colony living nearby. They come by each morning for breakfast. I put out about 7 cups daily. It is all gone in about 15 minutes. I could easily feed them more in the evenings, but I still want them to hunt.

  • why is she sooo sad??

  • This video if full of false assumptions. Just think of dry food as cereal, that is exactly what it is. Meat flavored Captain Crunch, high carbs, plant based protein, Not meat like a cat should eat. no water. The research is very clear. feeding dry only causes many issues, UTI, diabetes etc. do you think cats eat cereal and grains in the wild? how bout vegetables. No they are carnivores. Feed only wet food. even the cheap stuff is 100 times better than any dry cereal.

  • is it ok if i give my cat dry food(blue buffalo) and pieces of raw chicken breast at night.

  • @vivi3722 raw? no youre best bet is caned food hun,

  • Dry food has been shown to not promote dental health any more than wet.

  • I give my cats dry food in the morning and canned food at night.

  • I feed my cat both can and dry . he benefits from both .

  • Also, nowadays cats live longer compared to several years ago, right? So where is the necessity in feeding them raw food? Also, there is a growing raw food industry. It's just a matter of who makes the greatest profit. Please PUBMED as much as you can for more information.

  • Many of the cat health issues are in fact related to environmental factors (indoor living, no chances of exercise natural instincts, chemicals in the houses, even litter boxes), as well genetic factors (stop treating animals as products you buy and instead adopt from the street, they are much healthier creatures).

  • i have many cats from the streets and they have health cards they are all safe and i love them

  • I really wish all this debate over dry/canned/raw food by non professionals would stop. It's mad talking, to say the least. Dry food is not only convenient, but also healthy, depending on brand and cat's needs.

  • We fed our cat dry food all his life and he lived to be about 23 and he had feline aids. And I believe its the same for cats and dogs that dry food does help clean their teeth. Like my dog is served this special dry food that has actually helped her teeth even more. Plus I shadow at vet clinics and they say ppl who feed their pets dry food do have cleaner teeth. However, if someone likes canned food for their pet then thats their choice.

  • how do get a cat that has a kidney problem and wont eat to eat?

  • I have owned at leat 12 cats over the years owning several at one time. All lived to be a ripe old age and all ate a dry kibble their entire lives. There is no need to feed your car a raw diet.

  • This rant about dry food being good for teeth as it breaks down and sorts of scrubs against their teeth is complete BS. Do we have a cracker in the morning to cleen our teeth?

  • Comment removed

  • easy the morning and arvo u give him/her dry food and night meat food canned stuff

  • what i do with my siamese is i get t canned food which has meat.raw meat isnt a problem, but if ur talkin bout a wild animal they have a strict diet and u cant feed them normal cat food.nothing is wrong with raw meat such as birds mice and raw fish.the raw meat will contain more nutrients ,and the canned food which contains mashed up meat is also good;dry food isnt very good though

  • I wish such misinformation would stop being posted on the internet. Dry food cleaning teeth? Really? Do you clean your own teeth by munching on a bowl of cereal. Dry food is not real food any more than Ensure is for people. It is sustenance food with the only benefit being convenience. Just because a cat kikes it doesn't mean it's good. The only vets against raw are the uneducated ones that were trained by the pet food industry.

  • i called the dry food crunchies lol *-*

  • ummm i want a kitty cn anyone tell me like the basic (food, water, etc)

  • If you get a cat you need to be ready for the responsability. They need food and water. Mine has 1/2 can of wet (1/4 morning and 1/4 at night) and a constant supply of dry and water in a day. Also, they need somewhere to go to the loo, either a regularly cleaned litter tray or the great outdoors. They need attention and play, and if an indoor a scratching post/area is a must. You must also be ready for the vet bills, initial vaccination of a kitten and yearly boosters, neutering/spaying and...

  • .......and any unexpected events (hopefully not) but car accidents or fights. (Pet insurance would cover these). You'd also need a cat basket, possibly a brush, nail clippers, wormer and flea treament. Think thats it for a happy kitty!!

  • Btw, you can leave dry food out with most cats as most cats do regulate their appetite unlike dogs. Beware however the greedy cat that will become fat!!

  • What about mixing it?

  • Canned food is the best thing you can give a cat. My cat is eating about 80% canned 15% dry 5% raw. Canned food is MUCH better for you cat because of the moisture. Cats are not big drinkers and since they come from th dessert, they have adapted to getting moisture from their food and only drinking on occasion. Plus dry has everything your cat doesn't need and not enough of what she does!

  • Vets recommend that you don't give domesticated cats raw food as the bacteria from this they won't be used to and it may cause problems. Also, the dessert linkage to modern day domesticated cats is an obsolete argument, cats need a good fresh supply of water in all climates. Sorry to be picking but doing the best for the cats lol!

  • Raw food is fine for cats. Domestic cats have been eating raw meat(whole mice, birds, possums,) for thousands of years. 100 years of kibble is not going to do anything to change their digestive systems. I supplement both my dog and cat's diet's with raw meat. No problems here and there are tons of raw forums that will say the same thing.

  • A cat's digestive system is designed to handle meat in a quick and efficient way. A cat's digestive system is much faster than ours as it specialises in breaking down meat - most bacteria have no time to sit there and multiply and do harm. If a cat does contract Salmonella, the levels must have been dangerously high to start with, levels that probably would have incredibly dangerous to us humans as well.

  • This is in answer to feosulli 's comment that raw food is "dangerous", but YouTube decided to post it as a normal comment. Fail.

Also, canned food with no grains in is the best food (not including raw) to feed a cat. Good-quality canned has a high percentage of proteins, fats and moisture (cats don't often drink water from bowls). Kibble is usually packed full of grains which causes all sorts of health problems if a cat is fed on dry all its life.

  • cats always like wet food better then dry you just have to find what kind they like. my cat wont eat some kinds of wet but he loves friskies

  • my cats prefer dry

  • Both of my cats get both dry and canned food. One of my cats is a "big" kitty if you know what i mean but the other one is thin. I think both dry and canned are ok for cats though. I am just wondering how much I should give to my cats of both the dry and canned food?

  • My both cats prefer dry food and they are healthy and strong.
