  • That pretty much sums it up. Good post straightd0pe! When will these cops learn.

  • Maybe you hippies should start a colony on mars, then you can have your drum circles, sniff flowers and never shower or work. Oh wait, if you had it your way, you would have no one mooch off for free health care...

  • Office bubbles aka Adam Josephs is human garbage. Please sue me so I can prove it in court

  • Arrested for bubbles. Man, that cop's a bad ass!

  • OFFICER BUBBLES SUCKS ! ! ! ! !

  • Were you even at the G20? Because I was there for both days and I had no trouble not getting arrested.

How the hell can you compare 1984 and V4V to Canada? This is the best country in the world, people can do what they want here. Go trying living overseas, or even in the USA for a while, then maybe you will realise how good you have it.

  • @rickmoth "This is the best country in the world, people can do what they want here." except exercise Sections 2,7,8,9, 10, 11 and 12 of the Charter of Rights. You see my little freedom hating friend what makes our country "better" than those others that you speak of is that we have rights. The moment the police or their masters deny us those rights its called a police state or fascism. Please go back to your porn or sports. The adults are trying to have a conversation.

  • @rickmoth You're such a dumbass I'm starting to suspect you are officer bubbles. My 63 year old friend was arrested while she was sleeping at 3 in the morning for participating in a riot. She was stripped searched and forced to sleep on a concrete floor for 3 days in a cage. All charges were dropped like with 98% of those arrested. Is all that your Canada true and free?

  • Officer Bubbles Should be FIRED!!!!! He made his own reputation as a person who abused his power of so called athority

  • @rickmoth Really?

So standing by and doing nothing whilst vandals smashed shops and police cars is keeping people safe?

    Arresting people randomly for either:

A: Not running fast enough to get out of the way of non communicative charging cops.

B: Doing something guaranteed to be done in designated areas.

Most protesters were not safe, they were at the mercy of police brutality.

Here's a few examples of Overpowered Police and Gov: V for vendetta, 1984.

btw, Caps isn't going to make you smarter.

  • @TheNamelessCharacter HIPPIE !!!!!!!!!

  • people need to actually read she was not arrested for blowing bubbles he asked her to stop and she did, its in the video even she was like many arrested for having a lawyers phone number on her Arm dozens if not hundreds were arrested for the very same reason conspiracy to commit mischief , its sad still so many do not have a clue because of there blind devotion to these thugs we call police cowards all of them, breaking bones sexually assaulting women and beating up disabled people real heroes

  • body lange tells me bubles is in fincaial trouble

  • The sense of self righteousness that comes with a uniform and badge is staggering. Suddenly in a uniform with a 5$ piece of metal on their chest, a human being becomes a robots that lacks the ability to take things in perspective. A peaceful protester blowing bubbles is suddenly an imminent danger to their well being. A person driving to fast becomes a full blown suspect, who has drugs, is drunk, and despite the reason is a criminal. Protect and serve.gone. Forcefully obtain guilty plea.in.

  • He (bubbles)said it himself on his face book page. "I'm simple" and " I want to make people laugh". Now he wants to sue to get the riches that go with the fame. The guy is an arrogant waste of skin and oxygen! If you shoot me with a bubble I have the right to shoot you in the face in my own defence.

  • Thank you capitalism for all of the wonders you've given us.

  • Comment removed

  • Yes. It is assault for a bubble to touch a police officer. Why would you provoke an officer that said something like that?

At a children's party with bubble makers bubbling, try calling the police and having the bubble makers arrested for assaulting the other children at the party. Will this good officer of the law enforce the law and arrest the offending children for assault with bubbles? The female cop was reacting properly.

Fire this macho idiot before he kills someone!

  • Office Bubbles has seen this 15 times...

  • Ahhh the Streisand effect

  • She was being an annoying bitch by blowing bubbles into his face - he was being a dick by forcing the issue. They're both in the wrong - no one here is right, though the girl did get the worse part of the deal, hah. Guess you shouldn't mess with the cops then QQ about it, huh?

  • I don't think it was unreasonable for him to demand that she not blow bubbles in his face. They can't tolerate random civilians sprinkling them with unknown liquids for a number of reasons that should be fairly obvious.

But man... you gotta realize how it looks. Your going to get made fun of. Man up and move on.

  • @JuryDutySummons Would you still consider it assault? There's a difference between telling someone to stop blowing bubbles than forcing them to stop by threatening them with arrest for assaulting an officer.

  • those bubbles are lethal. Every year, thousands of people die in bubble blowing incidents.

  • I would sue that asshole cop out of existence!

  • @squirreljester2 No you wouldn't - you're 12.

  • @Jaenus80 I know you are but what am I?

  • @squirreljester2 :O ...you got meh.

  • @Jaenus80 Fighting fire with fire, ya know.

  • She deserved 100 percent what she got , scum protesting about things that have fuck all to do with them , silly bitches should be at home cleaning up and cooking tea for their unlucky long suffering husbands , mind you they are probably dykes haha NO SURRENDER , GLASGOW RANGERS BNP

  • All she had to do was apologize for disrespecting the police officers. She was joking around, ok, well the cops didn't think it was funny. I don't know why they ended up arresting her in the end, but she may have shown a bad attitude or continued with her actions which were disrespecting the cops. If the 'detergent' as the cop called it had gotten in the other officers eye, that's not a joke. These cops were on the job in a dangerous environment. Shame on her for messing with them. Grow up

  • @isthattrue212 The cops were messing with THE PROTESTERS! What the fuck were the cops even doing there, harassing someone during a peaceful protest. Obviously that lady cop was fine with the bubbles, but that other asshole cop thinks he can do whatever the fuck he wants just because he's a cop, and I'll bet that sentiment is the real reason behind all the police stupidness that happened during that summit.

I truly hope that every one of those cops get what they deserve, period.

  • @squirreljester2 Aha. I re watched the video and the other longer one. I thought the guy just wanted to do his job, and maybe he was stressed. But that doesn't appear to be the case. He was being very rude and that was a messed up situation. The entire event I mean. I have never seen the cops do anything like that before. Got to watch more later. They were harassing and disrespecting the peaceful protesters. Wow.

  • @isthattrue212 Yeah, go check out the first video on StraightDope's channel about this where he had his video camera, and got a lot of police craziness on film. The cops on horses was the most insane part, since they could have easily trampled someone.

The crowd should have charged the horses and made them freak out and buck the cops off. That would have been awesome to see.

  • @isthattrue212 troll harder

  • Isn't it funny how the most absurd things count as assault from whiny cops.

  • @muaddib17 Common...If you were a cop you would be OK with someone just blowing bubbles of an unknown liquid into your face?

  • @JuryDutySummons I can understand him wanting her to stop, but calling it assault is the part I have an issue with.

  • thank you, thank you......well said and done

  • What exactly was G20?

  • I understand this officer use-to enjoy blowing Bubbles when he was a child....

I was talking to Bubbles the other day!

  • Great vid. Officer Bubbles is an idiot.

  • If you put something into motion intentionally and the thing touches someone else in a harmful or offensive way, it is battery. At least under US case law. I don't know how different Canada is on battery.

But it's battery even if it is a simple bubble. And think about that: Can I blow bubbles in the face of someone on, say, a bus or train? How about in a grocery store? Or you, if you're standing in the street?

That said, the cop should let this issue die and drop the defamation suit.

  • Thanks for providing the video Straightd0pe.

Seems there is a debate raging within the comments section, much like the debate that blows up when this topic/event is discussed here at work.

Although I don't always agree with what's being said, it's good to see people passionately stating their case/thoughts.

This is exactly (in my opinion) one of best things about youtube.

Please keep up the good work, have enjoyed almost all of your content.

    Cheers from the West Coast

  • @Projoiner1

It's really a shame some people can't see it that way.

Many here would prefer it if this whole comments section descended into acrimony.

  • A bubble broke in to my house, beat me up and stole my things. BUBBLES ARE NO LAUGHING MATTER, THEY ARE DANGEROUS AND SHOULD ALL BE PUT IN PRISON, PERMANENTLY, WITHOUT TRIAL.

  • fucking despicable.

  • Er...I live in the United States Bubbles. I'll say or write whatever the fuck I want, whenever the fuck I want and as often as the fuck I want, AND AS LOAD AS THE FUCK I WANT. Its called the First Amendment and its a bitch aint it!

  • @mjh012363

Bubbles isn't reading this and he doesn't care what you have to say.

Stop deriving any sense of self importance from saying that sort of stuff, you just look like a moron.

  • @floppykid WHATEVER!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • What??? Comments.

  • The punks should have been given a beating. Bait on the police and your going to get an ass kicking. You punks have no public support. Go find another tree to hug

  • In June 2010 I learned that I don't actually live in a democracy where my inalienable rights and freedoms are protected, but rather are mere "privileges" which can be taken away at any time.

  • I know that guy, he's a drug dealer.

    Come find me

  • Wow. Bubble is a cunt. And a fascist. He must feel really great about arresting peaceful 90 pound females.

  • I think flopykid is a sock puppet account for Julian Fantino.

  • The cops now a days are just jocks and bullies from the 80s & 90s no clout what so ever...all brawn and some brains i can't stress that thinner.

  • I know SOMEONE who's asking to be trolled to hell and back. And his name shall be Officer Bubbles!

Troll away on the butthurt cop!

  • It's as if the pollice were deliberately stripped from all friendliness, all reason and all judgement.

  • @ChiNoRondoX they have been conditioned to think that dissenters are criminals, and should have violence used against them.

  • What a sad, sad man.

  • i don't care if its hitlers thoughts being preached, freedom of speach is a right that cannot be hidden.

  • There is no hope for humans when the mild mannered canadians devolve into statist violence. "Get those bubbles away from me ehh!"

  • Sounds like Officer Bubbles could use an enema and a stiff drink.

  • @everyone

You all seem to have your reality shaped by your ideals, which is cute, I suppose.

You all have young minds. You just fail to realise the realities of ruling a state/city.

  • @floppykid The reality is that the authorities aren't allowed to violate the rights of people who've broken no laws. I learned that when I was in high school, so how old are you and you don't seem to know that?

  • @BoredomCorner

No rights were violated on a mass scale, the breakdown of law and order rests solely with the violent protesters. There will always be some innocents caught in the crossfire.

  • @BoredomCorner Yet that doesn't stop the cops from abusing their power sadly... This kid (floppykid) seems like he stuck his head in a microwave since he can only spew out nothing but garbage.

  • Is there any media outrage over there? or officials being fired or prosecuted?

  • normally these left wings bigots are blaming jewish women for the state of the country , while muslim men are ripping them off with there dope ..

  • Thanks for the straight dope good stuff!

  • People should just stay in line and don't cause the police so much trouble.

  • LOL @ uh, "officer bubbles"... HAA-hahahahaha! "I will arrest for you if that bubble touches me." What a piece of shit!

  • @FancyPocketWatch *arrest you

  • man.. cant fuckin get over that officer bubbles dickhead. sat here behind a keyboard, there is not sufficient outlet for the fuckin anger at that shit.

  • need wake up people if they were to do likr france u think that cop would of done any thing or he would shut his anal mouth

  • I rarely get angry but people who abuse power (police etc) can really turn me violent.

A bubble? Someone punch that fucker in the face.

  • cartoon watchin' time

  • This is bullshit of the highest order

  • this a joke rite

  • I have to say

If I had to stand (or guard) anywhere and a person would come up to me and blow bubbles in my face I would also get angry

    And honestly wouldn't you?

  • @RazielKain There is more than one way to handle the situation. Being an asshole did not help his case in the least bit.

  • @rodinalex Sure but...

What do you expect if you walk up to stranger and blow bubbles in their face? I would expect to get punched

He can't punch her, he didn't punch her, all he did, as actually would I, was "If you don't stop you will get arrested"

Everything after that was ... let's call "a bit over the top"

  • I thought canadians were nice people, guess pigs are pigs wherever ye find them.

  • Before they can arrest someone for being a ringleader for vandalism, don't they have to prove that the violence is not only political but organized? Also that part with the cop is just deplorable. There are horrible things that happen in this world, some by police officers, and people who try and cover-up these things or ignore them aren't doing the world any good.

  • I didn't know Inmendham had the jungle fever. How many more of his bastard kids are running around?

  • i think this is stupid. this realy needs to stop. that police officer is being rediculas. that is not even a legit reason to arrest someone. bubbles my friend i think that is pathetic. realy you had to dp that.

  • Well fuck you too, Bubbles...

  • Well Americans, I hope your happy that you now know that we have crazies too.

  • Agent Bubbles probably has some serious psychological issues since he got his Charmander's ass kicked by bubblebeam, which is super effective lol

  • @guatepower Roflcopters sir, roflcopters!

  • Well this is fucked, I couldn't hugely blame the riot police for what they did because there isn't a RCMP member who is used to dealing with large crowds (peaceful or otherwise) but I'm know starting to change my opinion on that. Next time the cops need a lot more crowd control training, though hopefully if there is a next time they won't put it in the middle of a city.

  • I never herd of that cop till now

  • I've seen bubble machines outside shops and thought them rather pretty ... the way they catch colours in the sunshine and have kiddies running after them (and me too, I have to admit). Stick an utter cunt in a costume and position of power and even a wrong laugh gets you fined or tazered or killed ... and it's all legal. But then that's not the same as lawful ... and them there law society types and our open and honest governments don't want us knowing anything about that.

  • How about he sues God for when it rains...water can be used to choke people to death and is a dangerous substance. How about also sueing God for UV rays or people who talk in front of him because speaking creates wind and displaces air... air is a deadly weapon and blowing strong enough on someone could tip him over and he could hurt his head.

What about farting next to him...methane release could also kill someone so lets sue for fart.

    What a fucking asshole.

  • @KalimaShaktide "What about farting next to him...methane release could also kill someone so lets sue for fart."

It could be qualified as an assault with a deadly colon device and a weapon of ass destruction.

  • In twenty years Officer Bubbles will realize what a waste it was estranging fellow human beings for a chance to lick his master's food-smeared chin.

  • What Officer Bubbles should do is look-up Jesi Slaughter's dad down in Florida, so he could backtrace all of the Google users that dun goof'd his good name.

IF THAT BUBBLE TOUCHES ME, CONSEQUENCES WILL NEVER BE THE SAME!

  • I want Officer Bubbles to sue me... come on, Bubbles...

  • Cops are just morons anywhere on this planet.

  • Wow, i thought Canadians where polite people that sat around drinking beer and watching hockey . Fuck Oficer bubbels

  • FUCK U OFFICER BUTTFUCK

  • Wow, what an appalling abuse of power, past and present. This kind of thing sets an unbelievably bad precedent; putting the government and it's people in an antagonistic position to one another is the death knell of a society. You'd think that as Canadians we'd know better, that we'd -be- better, but I guess that's too much to ask.

  • great video

  • hold up, Officer Bubbles is suing 24 people for leaving comments???? I think I overheard Inmendham say, he is wasting the courts time #LOL

  • see guys, this is why protesting is useless, just pick one person to be a martyr, hand him or her a sniper rifle and you'd accomplish everything better, quicker etc. etc.

    //OBVIOUS SATIRE

  • officer bubbles isnt a nice man

  • so its illegal to do anything against the government? wait whats that smell? I know revolution.

  • @emosith

It's illegal to burn police vehicles, destroy other citizens property and assault police officers, yes.

  • that's right officer bubbles, take out the frustration of your miserable life on a chick protesting. fucking loser.

  • Really I'd like to see people here go to work and have bubbles blown into their faces all day by a hippy and see if they dont get pissed off.

  • Cops just have free expression everywhere in the world it seems.

  • Minus the little canadian flag, those cops are identical to american cops. What fucking assholes.

  • Wow, I did not know about Officer Bubbles. What really irks me is, he is only going to make it worse for himself in real life. Basic office politics tells me that Officer Bubbles is more than just his nickname amongst protest followers.

  • Fucking fascist cops. Go fight some real crime and get some psychological help for your inferiority complex. Small penis? Picked on at school perhaps? This is America, and I can say whatever I damn well please, and I hope it is the same in Canada.

  • Hey straightd0pe, thanks for continuing to shed light on the G20 debacle and officer bubbles. This mess is not over yet, and we're not done fighting to protect our basic rights. Much love, respect.

  • This is really fucking ridiculous. Bubbles is a moron and the Toronto(ian?) police are morons. They had no reason to arrest ANY of those protesters.

  • Good video, straightdope.

  • I agree with you on your criticisms of the police conduct during that G20 fiasco, but I must raise issue with two specific terms you used.

Please remember that we are CITIZENS, not CIVILIANS. The term 'civilian' includes to the domestic police force as well as the citizenry. To continue to mis-use this term, as the media seems content to do, fosters a continuing separation and authoritarian relation between us, and our 'peace' officers.

    To be continued>

  • @TinyCoconut

To refer to the widely publicized destruction of public property as 'violence' is misleading. Vandalism against objects is a forceful act, but it is not violence. The only violence commit that day was by the police upon peaceful citizens' bodies. To confuse vandalism with violence in this way belittles the widespread assaults by the police upon Toronto citizens, and magnifies the destruction caused the relatively meager tantrums by the 'black bloc'.

    Other than that, great work

  • @TinyCoconut Thank you. To respond to your points: I understand your sentiment, but I believe this authoritarian relation exists and isn't likely to disappear, and technically my usage of "civilian" was correct.

I completely agree about the violence/vandalism distinction. I only used the term "violence" because that's the way I've mostly seen his charges described in the press. But certainly, with the exception of maybe a couple of minor incidents, the only violence was committed by police.

  • What else could we expect from ether the US or Canadian government? Both are corrupt and both violate basic freedoms on a daily basis and as a matter of policy. What is really funny, sad and ironic is that the US citizens believe themselves to be free! We have the most oppressive gov in the west.

  • Officer Bubbles is a pussy. "If that bubble touches me..." Jesus H, what is this guy, a kindergartner? And who the CRAP unliked this? Fascists? WTF? Things are just going down hill and into the toilet it seems.

  • you know what would be funny? If officer bubbles got shot in the line of duty and died. That be hilarious!

  • Holy smokes! So much for personal freedoms. I was horrified by the actions the police took in your previous video on this subject but geez, it keeps getting more and more messed up.

  • today I heard of officer bubbles for the first time. Your response to his suit brought it to my attention! His actions, however absurd, have brought the embarrassment upon himself. Thanks for sharing his infamy.

  • The officer was 100% right to arrest this lady. The bubbles are a chemical. It is an assault. This lady is an IDIOT and I am laughing my ass off because she is stupid enough to get arrested. It is the officer's discretion to arrest the lady or not and he even warned her that he would take her into custody. She continued to harass/assault him and she was arrested. As far as the lawsuit is concerned, the officer is 100% WRONG. People have a right to their criticisms.

  • @richaldeano Oh yea, those bubbles are so awful. I mean, can you imagine how many KIDS have to have emergency eye surgery every day because of these vicious, dangerous bubbles.

  • @richaldeano

Shall I then assume you've not yet read the description and viewed the far fuller footage of what REALLY happened?

Why do you assume she continued to "harass" him? From what I saw even from this short clip she was amiably chatting to a female officer (who wasn't wearing "chemical" eye protection) when he took it upon himself to "save" his colleague. She then stopped and put the bottle away.

Since when did blowing bubbles become an arrestable offence?

What if this was your daughter?

  • @martiangrundy If this was my daughter, I would be pissed off that she was arrested for such stupidity. I am not saying if I was the officer I would have arrested her, because I wouldn't. However, the officer was within his authority to arrest her. And he wouldn't arrest her unless she continued with her actions. The officer warned her and she continued. Otherwise, she would not have been arrested. Fairly simple and obvious that the clip was edited.

  • @richaldeano

Oh I see. Another who likes to invent his own scenario's, to justify being wrong.

Shall I take it you've still failed to read the description, and view the more full video of what happened (even though to most people who actually pay close attention to this video, it's quite clear).

Why do you insist " she continued" when there is NO evidence to suggest she did? Indeed evidence to the contrary.

You have amazing faith in the police and people. But only SOME people it seems.

  • @martiangrundy

My god, you have issues mate.

You need to calm down, it's just some internet comments.

No need to fly of the handlebars.

  • @floppykid

Look you trolling nobhead. I've already told you umpteen times. I have NO wish to communicate with you, you are a troll PRICK, OK.

  • @martiangrundy

    You have problems, seek help.

    A.S.A.P.

  • @richaldeano What colour is the sky in your world?

  • Civil authorities can act as bad as criminals. Agreed. However I think that it is difficult to see what you are implying with these political activism videos. Clearly the police can be brutal. Yet so can the socalled political "activists" on the extreme left. Using vandalism, death threaths & extreme violence to promote their spurious cause. Suggesting reforms of the capitalist system is all well & good. It would just be nice to know if you support these kinds of extreme socialist movements?

  • I can't get these fuckin cops to arrest vandals for shooting me in the ass with a paintball gun, but you hit a cop with BUBBLES and it's all handcuffs and shit? Fuck these stupid asshole cop pigs.

  • Once again, another great video with great commentary.

Seriously, if only youtube would pay you more for these videos, we could see more perhaps?

  • Given the amount of violence by the protesters (I didn't leave my apartment for 3 days) I give the cops a lot of leeway and the protesters next to know sympathy (you need to know black block is out there burning cop cars in the midst of this) but that bubbles thing and ordering someone to not tell his story to the media are too much.

  • Hey officer bubbles my fart has many bubbles in them and I fart in your general direction well now I have to ask myself what you gona do about it punk well do you feel lucky, do you, go ahead break my day erm im mean wind i mean make my day oops sorry was that me reahehehealy..

  • To Serve and Protect..the greedy Scum Bankers.

  • Another sad day when freedom of speech is hinder by the ones that are supposed to protect them. The day people are afraid of speaking their mind is the day democracy completely fails. Fear should be used as a tool to maintain anything. It's just wrong. Great job on the video!

  • Fucking pigs, they are just out to stroke their own ego with no regard for the public's safety at all. Of course, the female officer was able to keep cool because testosterone isn't ridding her fucking head with nonsense.

  • You obviously have NO IDEA how explosive and down right deadly a stray bubble is.

  • @machogun Bubbles did 9/11?

  • Hey officer bubbles my fart has many bubbles in them and I fart in your general direction well now I have to ask myself what you gona do about it punk well do you feel lucky, do you, go ahead make my day..

  • You don't get to sue for defamation of character if they are just passing on something you actually did or said. The man's a complete moron.

  • Canada: It's full of bubble hating assholes!

  • I am on the polices side!

  • The officer was totally right in stopping the girl from blowing bubbles at them. It's an officer safety issue.

  • Officer bubbles is an awesome guy

  • Good vid man.

Officially sanctioned abuse of rights has become so much more prevalent in the US in the last 10 years or so. Seems it's happening in Canada as well. Hope these cases are aberrations.

  • The bubbles situation is frankly ridiculous. You can even see the stupid expression on his face mid-sentence as he realizes that now he's said something so completely daft he now has to enforce it to save face. It doesn't suprise me that he's embarrassed enough to bring a lawsuit, he should be.

The gagging order however is far more serious and I'll do some reading up on that.

  • I hope the video(s) go viral. So viral, in fact, that Matt Stone and Trey Parker produce an episode of South Park with an "Officer Bubbles" in it.

  • just wondering what's your main problem with g20??

  • What a filthy f*cking pig! it's a shame that one cop can make the rest of them look like the Gestapo.

  • @jossman25

"make the rest of them look like the Gestapo"

So you are equating the arresting of a women for blowing bubbles on cops after she was warned not to.... to cops, like the Gestapo pulling out finger nails, wiping, and cutting out people's tongues. (shaking head in disbelief)

  • Well, Atleast no one gets killed for howing theyr oppinion on this.

Against islam you tell one critical thing and Muslims are knocking on ur door ready to kill your whole family.

  • @Thastorcyclone Hm.. I must have missed that story.

  • Next thing you know you will be arrested for possession of raw materials that could aid you in the process of blowing Bubbles.

  • to the melody of "Officer Krupke" from West Side Story: Dear kindly Sergeant Bubbles You got to understand You could stay out of trouble You have it in your hand Your head is round and shiny You're a big and scary bloke But you fucked up and now you are a joke Gee, Officer Bubbles, what's wrong with your head? A big boy scared of bubbles that is totally sad! You bullied protesters who done nothing wrong - Now you're a youtube meme and in a song! (in a song) -> cont.
  • @commanderkruge cont. ->

    You're a dork, you're a dork,

    You're a stu-pid dork!

You could hurt yourself when eating with a fork!

  • Officer Bubbles, go fuck yourself. You fucking loser.

  • *facepalm* well that was utterly ridiculous. seriously, thats why she got arrested? bubbles? really?

  • @Rush888 ..and just think tax payers get to see their money pissed away in the process
